I Have A Taurus Pt92 I Am Looking For A Holster For It And Can

Taurus pt 99 af 9mm para?

Steve,

i can't directly address your PT-99, because I've never owned one. But i did have a Taurus PT-92, which was a fixed sighted version of the same pistol.

Now granted the Taurus pistols have gone through several generations of upgrades since my old PT-92 was built. My PT-92 was 100% reliable. It fed everything from light 90 grain bullets to 147 grain Subsonics without a hitch. The only thing it ever refused to feed was a fired case.

My PT-92 was also the politest semi-auto I've ever owned. If I stood in one spot to do my shooting, I could spread a newspaper about three feet to the right and six feet to the rear and every piece of brass would land on the paper.

As for your jamming issues, I haves some suggestions.

First and foremost, examine your magazines and make sure the lips are not damaged in any way.

Second. give the gun and the magazines a thorough cleaning. Take especial care to remove the magazine floorplate, spring and follower to clean the inside of the magazine body as well.

Third try some top quality ammo, something like Federal Premium 115 gr JHP's.

Fourth, pay attention to your grip. It is entirely possible to make the most reliable semi-automatic pistol ever made to jam if you do not have your wrist locked during firing. A week grip can permit the pistol to recoil too much and too fast causing a failure to feed jam.

If these remedies solve the problem go back and try the cheap white box stuff to see if the problem recurs. At least you will know the cure if it does.

Ruger P95 or Taurus PT92? which should I get?

The most glaring error which jumps out at me is the fact that of all the pistols you mention, the Glock 23 is NOT a 9mm. It is a .40 S&W.

That being said, I have a preference for a frame-mounted safety, so between the Taurus and the Ruger, I would choose the Taurus for myself all day long.

But that's ME, not you.

If I were going to choose between the PPQ and the Glock 19, I might choose the PPQ even though I am a Glock fanboy, because the 19 pinches me at the frontstrap and magazine every time I fire it. Which is why I go with the larger Glock 17. Again, VERY personal preference.

As far as a trigger safety, did you LOOK at the PPQ? It's basically a striker-fired P99 with more than a few direct ripoffs of the Glock firing system. Including the "trigger safety" which is basically a little lever in the trigger to keep it from travelling rearward until a finger or other object which engages the entire unit, is on it.

Bottom line: It's a matter of personal preference, once again.

So instead of asking a bunch of strangers their preferences which may not apply to you at all, why don't you go to the range and try them out to see what fits your hand, that you hit with effectively?

Just a thought.

Glock 21 , a ruger red hawk 44 mag.Or a Berreta 92 ?

Compared to the Redhawk, the other two are steaming piles of crap.

And it's not a "novelty" gun by ANY stretch of the imagination. With .44 Specials, it serves as a VERY good HD choice.

The Redhawk is FAR more durable, and EXCEEDINGLY reliable when compared to the two semis. Unlike the Beretta and the Glock, it'll be something you could be proud of, when you finally pass it on to your children, grandchildren, great-granchildren, etc.

What kind of gun did Walker, Texas Ranger carry on the television show?

Walker Texas Ranger' carried a 6-inch stainless Smith Model 629 .44 Mag in a cross draw holster in the first season. Norris later switched to either a stainless Taurus or Beretta 92. Most street level law enforcement , tex rangers or not, use either 38 revolvers or 9 mm semi-auto as larger or hotter ammo (e.g. 357 mag.) can penetrate too much and endanger bystanders.

Glock 17 vs Beretta 92fs?

Glock reliable, not comfortable for me.
Beretta reliable (I like the Taurus PT92 better. Thumb safety location and warranty and price). Comfortable....

I would look at the Springfield Armory XD, Taurus 24/7, Ruger SR9 and Sig Sauer as well.
