I Have Asked A Question And Have Not Received An Answer

If you ask a direct question and get no answer, is that a yes answer?

It’s not a ‘yes’, but it is certainly not nothing. Silence can give you information as well, and paying attention to which part of the questioning causes the other person to clam up can give you valuable insight as to what their motivations might be.Additionally, silence can be used very effectively as a tool to extract information - you’d be surprised how much someone will tell you, for instance when they are admitting to something, if you just stay quiet and allow them to ramble on. People have an innate impulse to fill silence, especially if they are feeling anxious, and this can be effectively exploited to investigate the truth in appropriate situations.TL;DR it’s not reasonable to assume that just because someone didn’t answer your direct yes/no question, that the answer must be what you suspect; however paying close attention to the body language of the person you’re talking to, their tone and diction as well as what questions make them fall silent can reveal a hidden store of information which would otherwise remain inaccessible to you.

Have another star from me. :)

What is that ask no question? but get lots of answer?

the Phone.........

I have asked three questions here and never received an answer. What am I doing wrong?

You did ask three questions before this one.One was asked on 3 Aug 2016 What are your views on providing adequate health care for uninsured individuals or individuals with orphan diseases (which tend to be uninsured)? No one is following that question, including you. That could be that something went wrong when you asked the question. Question askers are supposed to automatically follow the question. Or it could be that you unfollowed it later. One of the other two questions still exist, too, but apparently you removed the third question the day after you asked it.

Why are my questions not answered on Quora?

Why are my questions not answered on Quora??Hello Sameerah Imam,Your question got merged with a lot of others asking the same, so my response may get lost in the noise. Here it is, FWIW.Your questions are too vague. You need to give us something concrete to respond to. Your questions also have an air of self-pity. That's honest; and honesty is a very valuable attribute. But self-pity is not! Let's look at some of these questions. Why this office work is so boring?- vague, self-pity. Why don't you get some backbone and do something about it? "I sit at this desk pushing paper around, bored out of my mind. Should I quit and travel around like @Kanwal Anuvind? But what will I do for money?" 20 people will tell you to follow your dreams, 20 will tell you to keep your nose to the grindstone, and 1000 will tell you Kanwal has a job, he's no bum, and they resent the implication that he is!!!How do we segment internet users?- @Michael Cole's response is right on the money: "This question leaves so much to ambiguity I literally cannot bring on the sarcasm, it just isn’t working. Are you talking about WiFi? Wired? Enterprise networks? Metro Ethernets? Residential? Really this question begs the question, why do I waste the time?"I am confused about my feelings for someone how do I know that I am in love?- vague, confused, unattractive. How about "Sometimes I can't keep my hands off her, sometimes she bores me to tears. Am I in love or just horny?" That would get answered! What should I do when I am feeling extremely bored in my office and have nothing interesting around me?- 7 answers. See, you provided just enough detail to spark a little interest. What should I do when I’m extra hungry and have nothing to eat around me?- 3 answers. A marginal question. Immediate reaction is, why don't you get off your butt and go get some food? Gives the impression of a lazy, unfocused youth. "I'm chained to my desk and can't stop thinking about a burger and fries! What's a good quick snack for the office?"- You see what I mean. Stop floating with the tide, letting life kick you around. Start kicking back. Or at least, pretend to ... that's all the rest of us are doing.Good luck!

If you could get the answer to any question, what would you ask?

I actually have 2 questions. The first one, what does God really think of gays? Do we trust what was said in the old testament or the new testament? Is the answer somewhere in between? I’ve heard a lot of people screaming about how God hates gays, and I’ve heard a lot of people saying that God loves everyone. (NOTE: if you’re going to give me some Catholic sermon about how God actually hates gays, or some speech about how God loves everyone, don’t. Unless you can tell me what your friend God is like, and if he’s more of a texting person or a phone call person. Then give me your sermon.)The second one, what is really causing climate change? I feel like you can deny all you want that humans are causing climate change, and there is a valid argument for it which is backed up by valid facts. But you can also deny all you want that it is just a phase, because there is also a valid argument with valid facts for that one too. Or the cause may be somewhere in between. I’d just like to know. (NOTE: I don’t want you to answer this question. If you can, I’d like to see a 10-page essay explaining why you are right and why the other side is wrong, using at least 13 scholarly articles and credible books.)

After I have asked, "Como estas" and have received the answer "Muy bien" what should be my response?

You: “How are you?”Respondent: “Very well.”*crickets*What would you want to say next? “¿Quieres una cerveza?” (Do you want a beer?)Or do you go up to people and simply ask them how they are and … don’t have a followup no matter what language you speak? That hundred pound penguin is an icebreaker. Whatever you want to follow up with, you’ve already achieved at least the beginnings of correspondence. Now it’s time to get to the point of why you’re interacting with the other person.Maybe you want to know “¿Donde está el baño?” (Where’s the bathroom?)Or, perhaps, “Me gusta tu sombrero.” (I like your hat.)In any case, it’s probably best to get to the point. “¿Qué café puedo preparar para ti?” (As a barrista, What can I get started for you?)Working with other languages is great. Many times, the concepts of communication transcend language boundaries. The greetings of “hello” and “please” and “thank you” have analogs in many languages. Native speakers of other languages generally appreciate the attempt to use polite language in their language and are generally willing to respond well to polite words, even if they are the only words you know. So they’re probably the best words to know.Edit because it wasn’t asked:I’d gather that a more friendly response from the respondent, and especially one that reflect what would be expected exchange from the other side, given that there is a desire to continue the dialog:Respondent: “Muy bien, gracias. ¿Y Usted?” (Very well, thank you. And you?)Now, you can (also) say, “Muy bien, gracias.” (Very well, thank you.)At which time, you have also volleyed the dialog back to the respondent. You’ve also placed the respondent in a potentially awkward situation, since it was you that originated the conversation/dialog.“¿Que quieres?” (What do you want?)

Is there a forum that I can ask a question and get an answer?

There are many websites:https://www.quora.com/redditAnswerbag -- Start a conversation. Have some fun.Ask and Answer - ASKfm

Fafsa question "have you ever received federal student aid"? do I check YES or NO even though I didnt use....?

Marii:

The correct answer is "no".

The question didn't ask whether you ever applied for aid, nor does it ask if you were offered aid.

The question asks if you have "received" aid - which means that it was disbursed to your school and applied to your expenses.

If you were told that you had qualified for aid, but you never actually used the money, you have not received financial aid.

Furthermore, a CalGrant is not a form of Federal Student Aid - even if you had received and spent the CalGrant, you would still answer "no" to this question.

You would only answer "yes" if you have actually had Stafford loans, Pell Grants, Perkins loans, or some other form of Federal Student Aid disbursed to your school on your behalf.

So the answer is "no", and you have nothing to change. Good luck!
