I Have Asthma Can I Take Fluconazole

Can I take Cipro and Fluconazole at the same time?

I went to the doctor for the uti, he said it may be a bladder infection and put me on cipro. I called them today and informed them of a fever I had developed and continued discomfort "down there". They told me to take Fluconazole but didn't specify if I should stop the antibiotics...is it ok to take both at the same time? will the antibiotics kill the Fluconazole?

Anyone alergic to diflucan and have persistent recurring resistant yeast infections and oral thrush?

Helppppppp pleaseeeee........ Have an allergy to diflucan, face breaks out in a rash and throat swells. I'm on steroids for adrenal insufficiency and inhaled steroids for asthma. On top of the basically normal monthly yeast infection (no rude comments) I've had oral thrush for months and months. Nystatin helped but didn't get rid of it Amo B mouth washes (custom made) didn't help... Finally doctors argued with me it wasn't a fungal infection. Well i begged a doctor to culture it after months of it and well it is a fungus.. Now trying mycelex (sorry can't spell) i've used them before, and had no reaction, but up till december i had no reaction to diflucan. I know there is a chance of an allergy but don't know what else to do. Yogurt, probiotics make my stomach hurt like no tomorrow, garlic doesn't help. regular mouth washes, peroxide diluted mouth washes do nothing, cleaning tounge leaves it too painful to even talk or eat. I'm soooooooooooo in dire need of help doctors are even clueles

Clindamycin and diflucan ?

i went to the doctor yesterday and was diagnosed with a yeast infection, PLUS bacterial vaginosis. the doctor prescribed me diflucan for the yeast, and clindamycin for the bacterial infection. i'm really confused about treatment though, because i remember her saying something about taking one of the medications will cause the yeast infection to come back or something, but i'm not positive. she told me to take one of the diflucan yeast pills, then the next night, start using the clindamycin cream every night before bed for a week. then after the last treatment take another pill, and if it's still itching a week later, take another pill. i'm confused though, can someone please help me understand what she was saying about the yeast coming back? thanks.

How long does nistat take to get rid of oral thrush?

Make sure you swish and swallow. In fact, depending on the condition, you may need fluconazole, as if you have HIV, in general fluconazole works faster but still may take 1-2 weeks to clear if you have a lot. to correct something said before by another person, antivirals do not decrease your immunity, they increase it if you have HIV, and in general even if your t-cells are still low, soon after you start your antivirals, thrush will not reappear again. Other immune diseases may cause it too, as if you take corticosteroids like prednisone and inhaled ones. If you have been taking antibiotics, thrush may appear too, and you may get candida somewhere else too, like in women, may gat candida vaginitis. Diabetes is also a risk factor. I would suggest that if you haven't been tested for HIV to do so now. If you are positive already, then relax, it will go away, specially if this is the first time being treated, so the fungus is not resistant yet. give it a week. If no improvement call your dr. to call in a prescription for diflucan (fluconazole). If you have pain swallowing, you should get fluconazole at high doses right away.

Is it common for itch to linger after a yeast infection is treated?

I just took a fluconazole last night and my symtoms seem to be gone, except for one. I still have external itching. Is this becuase of the extensive irritation that was caused? Is it normal for it to linger a few days longer after the infection in treated??? How long should I wait before i should be worried about it?
Thanks!!

I have confirmed thrush but tested negative for HIV 3 and 4 1/2 months out?

Lots of things besides HIV can cause thrush. Too much sugar in the diet, asthma inhalers, steroid usage. You tested negative for HIV. 99% chance you don't have it and after one more test you can be sure you don't. I suspect most of your problems have to do with a guilty conscience. Get some swish and swallow Nystatin from your family Dr and use this when you have symptoms of thrush. And quit having sex with strangers to repair your guilty conscience.
