Please help, worried. been awake for about 2 days . Took 2 adderall XR 25mg (do not have ADHD). Cant Sleep!?

Ok so heres the thing. I'm 17

I'm a senior in High School, getting close to end of semester, failing 2 classes.

So I was in my library at school checking my grades. I was kinda loudly yet quiet like $hit i gotta raise my grades. Kid next to me over hears and tells me that those prescription pills can help me focus better in school. He also told me to look it up on the internet and i did and I read it is abused my college students.

So i buy 2 orange Adderall XR 25 mg. for 10 bucks. this was last friday.

I took one on monday. And man was i focused at school!, then at night it sucks i didnt sleep anything. Then today I took another one early in the day. and I tried to go to sleep like 5 hours ago but I can't!

Also I'm light skinned hispanic...I'm pretty woried and freaking regret it. My skin is getting pale. the palms of my hands look disgusting. I can start to see blue veins.

How do i get to sleep. It's weird I've been awake for over a day and dont even feel drowsy but man I need to get some sleep, this can't be healthy. Also I haven't felt like eating anything in 2 days, loss of apetite. What do I do???

It's like i'm wide awake right now. My eyes are lightly red but don't look good either. I swear i'm getting to a disgusting pale. My forearms the skin looks disgusting like grayish kinda or maybe i'm losing sight i dont know. What should I do? I know im hella stupid and what not for taking prescription meds that aren't prescribed to me.

Urgent!! please help

How much is it dangerous to health to stay awake 30 hours in a row?

Your question… are you asking if it is dangerous to health? or…how often do you have to stay awake to make it dangerous?Well, as a nurse, for 5 yrs. 1987–1992 , I worked double shifts (17 hrs. straight) or double backs (working 17 hrs. straight 2 days in a row) or split doubles ( 8 & 1/2 hrs.) then stayed awake and went BACK to work and worked another 8 &1/2 hrs. So, doing that or 2 of those twice a week or 3 of those in 2 weeks, I WAS awake 30 hrs. sometimes more. It RUINS your health. You become depressed, unable to concentrate as you aren’t sharp at work (or driving for that matter..) Ultimately, after the 5 yrs. I was up, I ended up with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome & perma- nent Fibromyalgia. After 2 yrs. of being ill with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, I was able to go back to work (Google Chronic Fatigue Syndrome to see what it is besides being tired all of the time) However, Fibromyalgia continued with flare-ups that affected my work schedule until I became permanently disabled at 47 from a head injury at work. YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM is affected.

How healthy or unhealthy is polyphasic sleep?

There’s little evidence either way, but I’m deeply skeptical that polyphasic sleep schedules are anything but a fancy form of chronic sleep deprivation. That’s pretty bad for you.Notice how many of those symptoms are difficult to detect. There’s no shortage of people on the Internet who will talk about how an Uberman schedule is great once you get used to it—but most of the time they’re just talking about how they feel, not taking any objective measure of blood sugar or immune function or cognition. There are lots of things that can make you not feel tired (exercise, bright light, stimulants) while still suffering from sleep deprivation and weird sleep schedules are probably one of those.*The reason to be skeptical is that no one has put forth a convincing explanation of how a polyphasic sleep schedule would supposedly reduce the total sleep time required. The explanations that have been attempted generally rely on the hand-wavy idea that polyphasic sleep increases the “efficiency” of sleep, which raises a number of problematic questions:If humans can sleep more efficiently without any ill effects, why didn’t we evolve to do it naturally? If we could sleep as little as 2 hours per day (Uberman schedule) our “natural” sleep cycle would be an enormous waste of time and energy, and make us needlessly vulnerable to predators. Therefore, there would be an evolutionary pressure to us the more efficient mode of sleep as our default, unless it had negative consequences that outweighed the positives. Why does increased efficiency require polyphasic sleep in the first place? In many cases, sleep deprived people actually do show some increases in sleep efficiency, like the REM rebound effect. But these changes are small and don’t fully counteract the effects of sleep deprivation. If a super-efficient sleep mechanism existed, why would it work differently from our other mechanisms for countering sleep derpivation which work equally well in monophasic and polyphasic sleepers? The simplest answer of course is just that polyphasic sleep is a form of sleep deprivation that makes you feel less tired than other kinds (perhaps due to modulating levels of sleepiness-signalling chemicals like adenosine)* Another hypothesis is that the people who succeed on these schedules simply have a very low sleep requirement in the first place.

What will happen if I don't sleep for 2 days?

Humans are not supposed to pull two all-nighters.When you don't sleeep for 24 hours you are equivalent to a drunk person. Do you think being drunk keeps you in line ?But when you don't sleep straight for 48 hours things even get worse. You will face problems with memory. Not only mental but also muscle memory. You will forget where you kept money, you will forget what you eat, you might even misplce things dangerously. This will definitely hurt you physically. Now you are on a drive. You will not hear horns as your complete attention is on the visual sense. This leads to accident. You will now wish if you could sleep but you will be now dealing with a terrible headache. Now in your way to bed you will be experiencing most weirdest experience (mentally). Some how you manage to sleep 6 or 7 hours. Now, the headache, if not gone will be hampering your daily routine. Even after the sleep you will not recover. You will be recovering but slowly, on a day by day basis. Some might take 3 days some might take 7. Depends on your sleeping pattern. Now you must deal with the consequences. Misplaced things. Missed meetings. Angry family. And yes you have lost almost a week before exams. That is very dangerous academically. If you do this in the exam week then surely you will screw up as you will lose your attention. If you do all nighters usually it would not afftect a great deal but as a newbie you will regret this decision entire week or month.

I've been awake for 3 days in a row now....

and I don't feel the least bit tired or sleepy.

I know sleep deprivation is bad but right now it feels so good and different like I'm made of air.

My Q. is:
How long could this state continue?

Does lack of sleep cause death?

That's an urban myth. Lack of sleep will not of itself cause you to die like that.

Lack of sleep *can* cause problems like hallucinations, even seizures. It can cause death indirectly - for instance, you're much more likely to crash your car or drop your chainsaw.

Finally, there are neurological conditions that can both impair sleep AND kill you, but the lack of sleep is a side effect rather than the direct cause of death.

Does anyone know how many days you can go without sleep before your body gives out?

The body needs to rest every day. After 2 days without sleep, the brain cannot function normally, thus causing slower thinking and reflexes. After 2-3 days, sleep deprivation begins to affect your vision and basic motor skills. You can begin stumbling and even hallucinating. Thoughts are cloudy, and speech can be affected as well--stuttering, broken sentences, etc. Short term memory loss occurs as well. Taking stimulants to stay awake is extremely unhealthy. Even though the body is awake, all the previously mentioned symptoms of sleep deprivation are present.

I used to use methamphetamine heavily. I've been clean for 2 years now, but I know first hand what no sleep can do. My body would finally give out after 4-5 days without any sleep. I'd blackout, pass out and I'd usually sleep for 15-20 hours, wake up to eat something, then sleep for another 10 hours.

I absolutely do not recommend depriving yourself of the sleep it so gravely needs every night.

What are the effects of not sleeping for 3 days?

I once carried out an experiment with a friend of mine. What would happen if we just stayed awake for as long as we could? After all, we’re both students, so not having to sleep is a huge advantage. Maybe we could even write “Doesn’t need to sleep. Always in a zombie-like state” on our curriculum, if we didn’t find anything else noteworthy. This experiment didn’t turn out too well, though. In general, one night without sleeping is nothing serious. Yet. This may be due to the adrenaline rushing through your body, or perhaps dopamine or serotonin are at play here. After a night without sleep, you’re either a zombie or a hyperactive ball full of energy. Most people are the latter, they generally talk a lot and fast and behave like a 5-year old who has just ingested a pound of sugar. This ecstatic state doesn’t last long, though. Slowly, exhaustion kicks in and your reaction time decreases tremendously. You’ll probably be incredibly tired after about 48 hours, but it’s still bearable, though. My eyelids kept shutting and my hands and feet felt like blocks of ice.At the 3-day mark, we decided to discontinue the experiment. Well, actually, we just fell asleep on the spot. Our concentration and memory suffered at the end. Simple math puzzles were impossible for us and speaking required a lot of effort. So, in short, maybe it isn’t the wisest idea to do this frequently.TL, DR: Nothing happens after one day, but slowly memory and concentration decline. You may get a headache.
