I Have Been Getting The Same Nightmare Since I Was A Child. Help

Why I keep having the same nightmare since I was a child?

What you are now and how you have rationalized life has nothing to do with how some memories have been retained from early childhood. Those memories of the fears you have as a child always exist. You don’t believe in the supernatural, but a part of who you are probably did. The child explains ways in how he protects himself from monsters, sometimes they will leave the lights on or have the parent do a closet check.Memories are collected and built up over time, such as things you may have heard others say about Religion. The idea that Jesus was brought up is because many look to pray to Jesus to protect them from the demons of the world. You do not even have to be christian for this to happen as the information can be picked up subconsciously through other means.Write the dreams so that you can check to see if a common theme pops up. As you define them the true message from self will become evident. Remember, the dream comes from the dreamer. Thus you are the creator of this world. You are communicating to self, perhaps working through some old childhood traumas. Old superstitions that still exist at least in the depths of the subconscious.Something else in your dream is also representing the feeling of “evil. In Jungian psychology there is an aspect of our darker self, our evil self or what can be considered our animalistic self, this is know as the shadow aspect. An archetype that Jung pointed out while working with dreams. There is also a secondary aspect called the anima or the female aspect of self. These concepts can be combined. Like the scary woman with the white eyes in your dream. This is saying that she than represents a part of who you are. Attacking this woman is basically fighting with that darker part of self. The shadow aspect of self is the part of all of us that we deny, the part that we hate, the part we don’t want to admit exists in us all. We all want to think we are good, but that part is our animalistic self that has allowed our survival. Always required and always in need of control. Every man works on controlling this thing that can cause us to make indecision.Hopefully I gave you some insights to Jungian interpretation, if I can be of further assistance, do not hesitate to ask questions.

My 13 year old daughter has been getting nightmares and she won't sleep alone. How can we work through this?

3 night ago my 13 year old daughter crawled into bed with my husband and me because she had a bad dream. She was crying and very scared so we let her spend the night with us. Since that incident it has happened twice more; once last night and once the night before. To me it doesn't seem like she is faking the nightmares. She is really scared. when I asked her what the nightmares were about she said that she didn't want to talk about it because it made her feel sad. How can we work through this? I have already bought her a night light and given her a walkie talkie that she can use to communicate with me if she is feeling scared, but she still ends up joining me in bed every night.

Why do I keep having the same nightmare?

Im 18 years old and have been having the same nightmare almost once a month since I was about 5 or 6. It starts out at my old house in my bunk bed Im at the age of like 5 or 6 in the dream to. Im in the top bunk and i wake up from a nightmare, scared i climb down the later and walk across the hallway to my parents room. But they are not in there. There bed is not even messed up. I turn around and my room is just gone. And then I turn around again and my parents room is gone. I walk down the hallway and as I walk the rooms are just disappearing. I make it to the front door walk outside and the house door closes and locks behind me. Im standing on the pouch looking around. The grass is so green. Like grass I have never seen before. No one is around. It looks like it is morning in my dream. I can see due on the grass blades. Then a guy appears. He is wearing a long trench coat down to his ankles. Its black. He is wearing black shoes. And he is wearing a black hat that covers his whole face. The only thing I can see on him is his eyes. They are brown and the white around it seems even more white than normal. Almost like they have been drawn on. He is waring black gloves, I go to scream but he says "shhhhhhhhhhhh" and pulls out like a huge knife. And then I wake up. Every time at that same part.

So anyone know what to could possible mean? Im tired of having this dream. I hate it.

My wife and I woke up at the same time with the same nightmare. Is there a scientific explanation for this?

The scientific explanation could be interesting. Studies have found that twins are likely to have the same dream many nights, and not just because coincidence. Dreams are based on how the day went, and if two people went through the same day together and think the same way, then it can only be logical that they are still partially thinking about the day when they go to sleep, but both in the same thinking. So if they both went on a camping trip and feared the dark around them, it is very likely they will both dream of scary things while in their dark dream world. Keep in mind that your nightmare may not be PRECISELY identical to your wife, since obviously you two are NOT identical-thinking twins. Waking up at the same time could also be part of the REM-cycle. A few people did a study once, and found that the best sleep cycle is 8-4-8-4 [off the top of my head, I may be a little off on this one]. It wouldn't be too unusual for you two to wake up at the same time due to the natural cycle. Alternatively, one of your awakening stirred the other.
