I Have Dark Brown Hair That I Want To Dye Light Brown

Help!! how do i dye my dark brown hair light brown?

dye your hair a light shade of blond. Each time you dye it, it will get lighter. People say that this doesn't work, but I've done it. It will take a while this way but it's allot safer than using bleach or peroxide

I have dark brown hair and I want to change it to light brown?

I have naturally dark brown almost black hair and I used a box dye l oral excellence number 7 . But it did not change much of my hair color just reddish brownish tone added to my dark brown hair and I wanted a light brown color. How can I achieve that ?
I'm thinking of never using a box dye. Im buying a tube dye so What color level should I apply ? And should I use a 20 volume developer or more ?

How can I dye my dark brown hair lighter?

WELL natural pigment in the hair has RED. You can't avoid the red but you can process passed it. Heres some options.

If you have not colored your hair ever then you can pick a shade of lighter brown color and your hair WILL lift to the desired look. If you colored your hair years ago and havent cut it or its grown out it still will make it uneven. SO this is only if you are completely natural. Otherwise it will only get lighter where its natural and the parts thats colored will stay exactly the same!! Color does not lift color!

Bleach wash or full on bleach. A "bleach wash" is shampoo, 10 volume developer, and bleach mixed together. You cover your hair from roots to ends and slowly wait till it gradually lifts. This is a slower process then straight bleach but better for your hair. It wont be as fired as straight bleach will be. Its important you pay attention to the stages of lift your hair is progressing to. In order to get brown without red you must pass the red stage. So you see your hair looks red then leave it on longer. Brunettes is very hard not to have any red because its such a dominent pigment. Once you are passed the red...im talking looking blond then you rinse. And then you place the desired brown color you wish to have all over your hair from roots to ends.

If there is a beauty supply store around you ask which bleach is best for your hair. YOu wont find bleach at the grocery store. And i really dont recommend the market box colors because that has a large amount of amonia which is damaging to your hair. At beauty supply stores they sell color and have example hair on there.

THis is a huge undertaking. Id be more then helpful to assist you further if you'd like to email you. And one on one questions you might have. I am a stylist and my best friend is always emailing me for hair help. So i dont mind at all. I hope this helped somewhat.

Can dark brown hair dye go over blue hair dye?

My hair is naturally light brown, or dark dirty blonde, however you receive the color, my natural hair color has been called both. In April of this year I went to a salon and got half of it bleached and had blue hair dye put on top of the bleached parts. Now I've decided I do not want blue hair any longer, and I was wondering if I put dark brown hair dye on top of all my hair if it would cancel out the blue? Or will I have to bleach the blue out?

My hair is dark brown. How can I turn it light blonde?

There is a really affordable product called "sun in" and it's basically just a spray that you put on your hair when you go outside during the summer, or during any sunny days. I did this last summer and achieved a pretty light color. It won't be COMPLETELY blonde, but you can get there.I also suggest getting highlights. If you get highlights multiple times for about a year, you will reach the blonde you want. You can even get highlights and add Sun-In to it for that extra blonde. Hope I helped!

I have dark brown hair and want medium brown hair. Can I use 10 volume developer with medium brown permanent color & get medium brown results?

Absolutely. Although historically it has been taught that you need 20 vol for lift or to cover grey….more and more color lines are discovering that is simply not the case. The overwhelming majority of grey hair can have complete coverage using only 10 vol developer. And if you are talking about just a small amount of lift needed to go from what you call dark brown to get to medium brown, then 10 vol is all that is needed. Higher volume developer will create more “lift”, but lower volume will create more “deposit” and less damage is what has been taught for decades, and it is only partially true. The majority of haircolor can be achieved using only 10 vol. As with all rules of hair color, a very few people will have very resistant grey hair and need the extra softening that 20 vol will achieve. But in my personal experience, those are few and far between. Most of the LIFT AND DEPOSIT OF COLOR IS DICTATED BY THE ACTUAL COLOR portion of the mix. Contrary to much current thinking, 10 vol should be your “go to” developer of choice. But these are things only taught in advanced color courses and I don’t understand why that is? It’s not a difficult concept….unless you are trying to retrain one who was taught the old system. Those guys often don’t like change. It seems to scare them.

I have sort of tan/olive skin, light brown eyes, and dark brown hair. Should I dye my hair black?

I have dark brown hair but I highlighted it a strawberry blonde a few months ago. I wanna know if I should dye my hair black? My skin color is tan/olive with yellow undertones. I just wanna dye it black for the summer, especially because I get really tanned so I dont think it would make my complexion look washed out. I'm afraid the black hair would make me look trashy, or too fake, considering I have facial piercings, what should I do? I wanna dye it black, but have it look natural.

Should i dye my hair dirty blonde? darker brown? or lighter brown?
