I Have Japanese Straightening Its Been Over 6 Months Now And I Want My Curly Hair Back. What Should

Japanese Hair Straightening?

i have thick, curly hair, and i was thinking about getting the Japanese straightening done.

i was just wondering if it damages your hair (i'm part Asian, and part African American, but i have thick curly Asian hair), the range of prices, how long it generally takes, and how long will it last until you get your natural hair back?? And also to anyone who did it, did you like your results??

Thanks! :)

Can kids do the japanese straightening?

I started getting it done when I was 23. Japanese Thermal Reconditioning totally worked for me. My hair was very wavy, coarse and dry. Almost always frizzy unless I put Bio Silk or some kind of stuff on it add in/lock in some moisture. I was embarrassed because all the other Asian girls I know all have pretty, straight, shiny hair. I looked like I had a 1970s afro and it totally killed my self esteem all through elementary, middle, high school years. I could not go out without tying up my hair into a pony tail or everyone stared. :(

If you can find someone who does it well, (and if you have not colored or chemically altered your hair already) you may get some really awesome results for at least 4 to 6 months.

The girl who used to do my hair quit at the salon I went to and another girl did my last treatment and she messed up bad...hair started to break and seemed fried and dry. The previous girl always put in solution, flat ironed my hair and then washed it and flat ironed it again and it always turned out so beautiful. I could wash it and shampoo it and it always stayed nice and straight...never frizzy until it grew out again. The product she used was "Phi Ten" solution.

I don't think you are too young, but because you are under age your mom or dad will likely have to go with you to give consent on the treatment...depends on the salon. If it helps your self confidence and you can afford it... I think you should go for it.

What are cons to Japanese Hair Straightening and Chi Treatment?

I don't know about the Chi Treatment, but I personally have the Japanese Straightening.
My natural hair was like this before I got the straightening done: http://hairbouncefactory.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Curly-Hairstyles-Hairstyles-For-Curly-Hair-6.jpg

So here's the cons that I noticed:
-Hair becomes more dry and damaged than it was before(obviously). If you get it done twice for a touchup (8 months later for me) it will become even more frizzier than the first processing.
-Really hard to wash. You need to take extra good care of your hair.
-Possible split ends. I personally don't have them, but I've heard the treatment can cause them.
-After a couple of months (been counting 6 so far) the entire hair will start loosing it's straightness. Only gradually, though. So it's not like it will just change in 1 week. My hair was pin straight when they did the treatment for the first 2 months like this http://www.demo.palma-jo.com/images.ashx?dec=1&url=uh4QwdELmPeKsDaKsCNLtT0MvT3KsSZJmRZC0PBoyg0KuqfQ0cZoneFsnntUwCYQ55Zb3ofb3ofb3ofmtOZqvrFbyg7gonjL1cZPlnsMlcZeoQ0zldiP05Vkoew=B6X! , but now it is more wavy like this http://dailycookie.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/long-hair_back.jpg
-Expensive!! Depending on your hair length, how curly/wavy your hair is, and the thickness of your hair, it may cost a lot! Mine cost around $240. Touchups were the same price. Prices usually start at $70 and up, but check your local salon just in case.
-This applies to ALL permanent straightening processes: You'll have a problem with your curly (natural hair) roots once you get it straightened. If you are low on money, or you are planning to grow your natural hair back, it might look funny with the top part of your head curly and the bottom straight.

That's basically all I know :\ Hope this helps

Japanese hair straightening?

"The high price of this procedure has kept most people away from repeat procedures. While we haven’t been able to see the exact formula the description of how it’s applied sounds suspiciously like a hair relaxer. The fact that a neutralizing solution has to be used suggests a bond-breaking, chemical reaction. Kudos to the inventor for convincing people to spend that much money on a less harsh version of a hair relaxer. This procedure will permanently get rid of those curls but it’s expensive and incredibly damaging to your hair." review by Left Brain at http://thebeautybrains.com/2007/12/26/7-...

Now let me suggest a kind way to straighten your hair that I used. Check a local health store or online for VitaWave Perms..choose what kind by the type of hair you have and when ordering ask for the instructions for doing a reverse perm. (tip from me,you do not need to use the perm rods, ignore that part of the instructions) Your hair will come out smooth and straight and soft, as there are no horrid chemicals in these Perms. They work!!!

How do I get my curls back quickly after straightening?

I had the same problem sometime back.Natural curls are wonderful and chemically straightened hair looks dry and dead. Here are a few easy suggestions:Wash your hair and towel dry. Don't use any hair dryer. Buy this rubber band ( easily available any place).see attached pic. All you do is twist your wet hair into a tight bun and tie it with the band. Open after a few hours! Curly hair..... I've done this a LOT of times :)Your new hair that grows will be curly and you can stimulate the growth, by eating vit BApply jojoba oil mixed with a few drops of teatree and rosemary essential oil. As your hair grows out, the new hair will give a curly look

How do I get my natural curls back after straightening and chemicals?

Can you curl your hair when you have the Japanese hair straightening?

yes u can! just make sure it's not Right after u did the straightening. they tell u not to touch or put up or sleep on ur hair for like 3 days right? after u wait, and then wash it, then u can do anything u want to it. since ur hair is stick straight tho u probably need lots and lots of mousse and hairspray! then later when u wash ur hair again it should be straight again :)

Can I perm my straightened hair?

Yes, you can but only if the straightened hair are atleast 6 months old.Perming immediately or within a duration of 6 months after chemically straightening your hair can damage your hairs.
