I Have Never Played On A Pc But I Would Really Like To Buy One To Play Pc Games With My Friends

Do we need Steam installed on our PC to play any single-player game?

Depends on which game. Maybe for some but not all.I do play a handful of Steam games. Internet over here isn't the best though, compared to amazing services in most Western countries. This is why Steam, and the easy "just download" “download anywhere” feature does not appeal to me. I do understand the convenience of this, but when a 10GB game takes 2 weeks + to download, I rather plop in 2–3 DVD disks and install the game in 2hrs.I get my games the traditional way, in DVD disks from a store. Not sure if coincidence, but none of these require the separate Steam program to be installed. You simply pop in the disk, run the setup, finish, and play.I have NEVER installed the main Steam application in my PC. Ever.Steam Games I played:(feel free to correct me if I got some wrong. Again I never used Steam and only based this list on the online list of Steam Games which I have played)(also you mentioned Single play. All these games I played Single Player only. I never tried the Multiplayer option because I don’t really play Multiplayer, so am not sure if it would work w/out Steam program)Aliens vs. Predator (2010)Batman Arkham seriesCall of Duty: Black Ops seriesCall of Duty: Modern Warfare seriesDead IslandDevil May Cry 4DmC: Devil May CryGuilty Gear Xrd -Sign-Injustice: Gods Among UsLeft 4 Dead seriesLost Planet: Extreme ConditionMortal Kombat XOrcs Must Die!Resident Evil 4 and 6Street Fighter VSupreme Commander 2The Elder Scrolls V: SkyrimTransformers: Fall of CybertronUltra Street Fighter IVWarhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II seriesAgain, all just played in Single Player. No Multiplayer.EDIT:While I do not have the actual Steam program installed, most of these games have a Steam folder or Steam game file in the game folders. Maybe it is a portable Steam? But I do not have the separate Steam standalone application with the interfaces and login.EDIT v2:Turns out, even with those Steam folders automatically installed in my DVD version of the game, my game isn’t officially a “Steam Game” yet, until you register it in your Steam library. So yes you can play your game in single player, but it is just a normal PC game, and not officially a “Steam Game”. It becomes a “Steam Game” when you install Steam, and register it.

Can you list 10 good reasons for a PC owner to play games on a console instead?

Large Screen. 55″ 4K LCD and 27″ monitor are two completely different worlds.Couch is more comfortable than most computer chairs.Consoles costs much less than a gaming PC.PS VR with Rifle controller is the best C/P in the market so far.The size of consoles are much smaller than a gaming PC.Consoles consumes less power, generate less heat, and less noisy.Consoles are much much much easier to setup than a PC; you don’t need to know Registry, WiFi driver, Graphic Card driver, Network Group, blah blah blah.Consoles have much simpler home screen and the UX are focusing on launching games. No Trojan horse, no virus, no ransomware, no Flash junks, no BOT players in matching games. No Blue Screen of Death, no “DLL is missing”, no “Abort, Retry, Fail?”, no force system upgrade that breaks the ongoing game.Shortly put: I choose console because I don’t want to fight with all the troubles of setting and maintaining a Windows machine. I just want to switch power on and play. It’s just that simple.P.S.#10 is referring to this: Pro Gamer Freaks Out When Windows 10 Update Kills His 9h Counter Strike Livestream

Can my friend add a 4 gb ram on his pc which already has 2 gb ram? Note that his pc s max memory size is only 4gb?

Ok My friend lives in a third world country and he has the shittiest pc in the whole world. He is pretty poor as well. He does nt know **** about pc s and i m too much of a chad to play videogames. So this is a pretty noobie question. But i rly want to help my friend. He has been playing videogames on his 2gb ram pc. Latey he has saved some money and now he wants to upgrade his pc a lil bit. he checked on the internet what kind of ram his motherboard can handle which was 4gb ddr3 max.His motherboard model is DG41WV. He already has 2gb ram. If he buys a 4 giga ram and adds that on his pc will that make his pc 6 gigs? Will having 6 giga cause some problems? Or will it be a waste of money? Should he just go for a 2 gb ram?

I pirate games because I can't afford them. I only play single player. Am I immoral?

The problem with your question is that you are making a number of inherent assumptions in your statement.I can’t afford to play video games. Now, I’m more than willing to believe that even if you have SOME form of funds, you can’t afford to play $60+ a pop on the next AAA title. And let’s be honest: anyone with that kind of money is a very privileged person indeed. However, the thing is that, even with a $0 budget, there are more than enough experiences out there for the shoe-string budget gamer. Just type in the words “free to play” in any gaming search engine, and you’ll get HUNDREDS of fantastic titles. There’s no shortage of excellent shooters, and you can even find a title for pretty much every single niche genre.Okay, but I NEED to play THIS game right NOW.I know this may be a bit of a whiplash from the previous paragraph where I tried to offer an olive branch, but frankly I find this attitude complete bollocks. Gaming is a luxury, not a right. You are not entitled to play a certain title the moment you want it, regardless of your ability to pay for it.Don’t want to pay full price for a game? Don’t buy it, then. Wait for that $40 game to go on sale for a fraction of the price, and pick it up then. Hell, you say you bought Stardew Valley after pirating it; I’m not sure how I feel about the whole “I’ll buy it if I like it when it goes on sale” attitude since I’m skeptical that pirates DO purchase the game eventually, but hey, I’m not your warden. If you can be honest with yourself like that, that’s a reasonable attitude.

Should I build a gaming pc or buy one?

Well I am not really in to gaming I do love playing games but I am not hard core I just wanna play some games like planetside 2 or total wars games maybe battle field games not to much tho so I am thinking of buying one but one of my friends says it better to build one but I don't really have the time and I never done it should just buy one from costco or something ?

How do I stop playing computer games?

Finally, a question which I would love to answer. Hi! this is a game addict typing for you who had overtaken his addiction. So, I’m going to suggest you how to stop your addiction accordingly to my experience:Stop fetching new games- A major reason for persistence of addiction is bringing new games to experiment with. Stop asking your friends, cousins or others for games or downloading games using torrents. This just stimulates you to explore the world or plot of new games. Try to avoid it.Don’t try to be all-rounder- I mean if you have beaten a game once, don’t try to beat it again through different difficulties or other ways. Playing game through different difficulty is just a excuse created by your mind to keep playing games.Don’t try to become a pro- Just play games in easy modes to easily finish the game and prevent yourself to playing it again. Because most of the times we try to play our old games again to become a professional in that game. Becoming a pro-gamer is not earning you anything so it would be better if you forget about this idea.Feel bored of games- Think like playing games is boring because they contain the same themes, plots and stunts or because it makes you weary or it hurts your eyes or “I have played this game before and I already knew the story so it’s no fun to play it again.” Feel like doing some other activity is better than playing games.Replace the habit- Other activities like hanging out with your friends or going for a stress-free walk in the nearby park. A better alternative would be petting a animal because it will seek most of your attention so you will be too busy to play games.Consider the disadvantages- Consider things like your studies, your social interaction and how they are destroyed by gaming addiction. Ponder over the harms caused by playing games too games, it would help you to stop.If you are in your earlier teens right now then I suggest its the best time to stop yourself. Playing games is just a leisure activity, so save it for your delightful future. Just refer to one of my answer to understand its harms : Ayush Jaiswal's answer to What is your biggest mistake or regret? . Hope it helps you !!
