Make sure you are on a layer that contains something. It's possible you are on a new transparent layer. You can see the marquee but there are actually no active pixels inside what you selected. Also make sure the layer isn't locked! Check your layer palette to make sure you've selected a layer with something in it and that the lock icon doesn't appear next to the selected layer.

Depends a lot on your life goals, motivation, capabilities and persistence.If you think you have to specialize and you are ready to invest 1 more year to full time dedicated studies, then repeat and give the exam again. Make sure you work your ass off! I know people who have got amazing ranks and awesome PG seats in big places after repeating 2-4 years.You can also opt for DNB, Diploma courses, etc as soft options.If leaving India is not a problem and you are financially sound, you can try for US, UK or Australian PG entrance exams. A word of caution- they are easier to crack than Indian PG entrance exams but need huge financial and time investment.If you are tired of giving exams and just want to continue working as a doctor, you can get good pay in a PHC, offshore work in oil fields, Middle-East, Carribean, etc. The work is not challenging but the money is good. It might be a little unfulfilling though.If you think working as a family practice doc is not your thing, then you can try for alternate career options. Clinical Research is a promising field. You can take GRE and apply for MS or PhD programs in US which are related to clinical research. Highly promising career, but the lack of clinical work might be a downer. Also, the pay is not as good as a doc, but good enough.You can apply for MPH programs (Master in Public Health) which deal with epidemiology, biostatistics, bioinformatics and related fields. The future prospects are similar to MS or PhD programs.If you wanna earn big bucks, then MBA in healthcare management is a good option, epsecially from countries like US, UK, Canada.One option which a fairly large number of repeaters go for is UPSC. You can join IAS, IPS, IFS, etc. The exams are competitive, but again, easier than PG entrance exams. These guys also earn big bucks, but mostly through bribes. Should I paint an eggshell finish over a Behr Sateen in my bathroom?
I went to pick bathroom paint (going dark taupe) and when I went to select the finish, the guy at the counter recommended one that was good for bathrooms. I asked twice if it wasn't high sheen after I told him I didn't want that (I have heavy knockdown, it just looks weird to me, too much detail). He said it wasn't. I get to the counter and the gallon costs me $27 and this thing looks like plastic! I had been working for hours when I noticed that the 'dry' parts were still highly reflective. So it prevents mildew etc etc but isn't an eggshell finish good for bathrooms as well without looking like that? I am sooo mad because I was on such a tight budget, the guy never said it was more expensive AND I kept asking to make sure it was low sheen. I read the can and it says "a radiant silky sheen". Is it just me who hates knockdown in a high sheen? Should I paint over it? Is the benefit of this special sateen really so great that I should put up with this finish?
