I Have No Sound Its Says No Speakers Or Headphones Are Plugged In

No speakers or headphones are plugged in, Windows 7 sound problem.?

I have just installed an AMD Radeon HD 6450 graphics card and ever since that installation of it, my sound has not worked. I installed all the up to date drivers for the graphics card. It just shows my sound muted, and says, " No speakers or headphones are plugged in." If i go to the sound settings it shows AMD HDMI output, and it says its not plugged in. Under recording it says no audio devices are installed. I literally tried everything.

No speakers or headphones are plugged in.?

System:
HP Pavilion NC890AA-ACA
AMD Athlon Dual Core Processor 4850e
3 GB RAM
Windows Ultimate 32-bit

Problem: After booting my HDD in another computer(Yes I know, that was dumb, I made a rookie mistake) my sound stopped working, leaving only the message "No speakers or headphones are plugged in" I've been troubleshooting this for days.
Things I have tried:
1. Getting new sound drivers from both HP and from Realtek.
2. Checking the BIOS to make sure that sound was enabled.
3. Tried using 3rd party sound drivers.
4. Checked my cables and speakers to make sure nothing is damaged.
5. Ran a repair install to try to reconfigure my HDD to the system.

Nothing worked. The only thing I know of that works is when I plug my XBOX 360 controller in and use my headset for the controller, I get sound. But that is because it isn't dependent on the audio ports on the motherboard. That leaves me to believe that a sound card would work, but I don't have one, nor do I have the funds or capabilities to get one right now.

Any ideas on how to restore my sound would be much appreciated.

I can only get sound from Sony Vaio with headphones plugged in. What's the problem?

We have two separate problems here.1 - No sound from the speakers: First, make sure no headphones are plugged in, then check the volume. Most laptops maintain separate volume and mute settings for the speakers and the headphone port. If that doesn’t work, make sure you have up-to-date sound drivers installed. If you still don’t have sound, go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound. Right click anywhere in the list of playback devices and make sure Show Disabled Devices is checked. Find a device labeled “Speakers”. If it says “Disabled” under the name of the speaker, right-click it and click Enable. If your sound still doesn’t work, your speakers are probably broken.2 - Have to jiggle headphone cable to get sound from both headphones: This is a hardware issue. Try a different pair of headphones. If they work without jiggling, your headphones are broken. If not, the laptop’s headphone jack is broken.

No sound through headphones when plugged in windows 7 computer?

I have a windows 7 64 bit computer and the speakers (Logitech Z5 Speakers) work perfectly fine but when I plug in my headphones (tried both jacks) no sound goes through them and continues to go through my speakers. I have another computer and there was no problem because not only did i have the speakers as an option on the control panel->hardware sound->manage audio devices->playback, but I also had a default playback device that i would set as default to make my headphones work.

No sound from laptop speakers or headphone? Icon states "not plugged in"?

I have a Gateway Laptop. Model: kbyf0 Model nv73, the sound will not. It doesn't not work with headphones either. It wont let me turn the sound on, says "not plugged in". I have reformatted the laptop to factory defaults, tried updating driver (says that Im already using the best and latest driver available), disabled the driver and then enabled after a few minutes. I have disassembled laptop and check all the wires. I have windows 7. I have already ran a scan and it did not detect any problems. In the device manager it states that the audio controller cannot start code 10.This happened a cpl weeks ago. I simply restarted the laptop and it delayed the prob until the past few days.

No sound from laptop speakers, but there is sound when i plug in headphones?

The laptop is ASUS F3J, Windows Vista, Realtek HD Audio.

I've checked all Sound settings in the Control Panel. I've tried reinstalling the drivers. I've tried updating the drivers. I've tried editing the value of ForceDisableJD in Regedit. I've tried reformatting the computer and adding a new OS (Vista). Yet, the speakers still doesn't work.

There is a red light that is always on inside of the headphone jack and when I plug in my headphones, I can everything on my laptop. Youtube, system sounds, everything. When I unplug it, the red light is still there and there isn't any sound from the speakers. I've googled this problem and browsed several forums and pages and I'm still stuck. It's greatly appreciated if anyone has some insight.

(Note: Hardware fix is a last resort.)

Is there a way to hear sound from my computer without speakers or headphones?

My friend's computer produces sound when his speakers/headphone are unplugged. I've asked him how but he says he doesn't know. Is it dependent on the model or can other computers do this as well and, if so, how?
