Once I pass my section 8 inspection when do I move in?
I am new to the section program. I found an apartment and the inspection is scheduled for October 20. The problem is I am still paying bills at my current apartment so my money is going fast. I have talked to my case worker to how much my portion of the rent is going to be and she keeps telling she does not know. I thought there was a set forumula set by the housing authority itself? The apartment I am moving into does not know either. I don't even know my move in date. How can I save up for rent on the next apartment if I have no clue. I calculated that 30% of my income would be $208 and then took off $97 for the utlity allowance. (which my utlities in reality will over $100). I know there is a disablity allowance as well. I figured rent would be $111, which means per day rent is $3.77. If I move in on October 24 that means the pro rated rent would be $37.77. My case worker refuses to go over the figures with me. I am in Kansas City,Mo. I get $694 in disablity. (By the way when I finally get a raise in 2012 for disablity will be rent be recalculated or will the wait until the next lease to recalculate?)
