I Have This Feeling Something Bad Is Going To Happen Before It Actually Does.

Sometimes I feel that something is going to happen and it actually happens. Am I hallucinating or do I have a mental issue because of this?

This happens to me every now and then. One just recently. My first experience was when I was in Iraq. We were at a bigger Patrol Base resupplying and fueling up. I was the gunner in the first truck (guy on the big exposed weapon onto of the truck. As we were leaving I saw a flash of a few images. I looked down and jokingly said to the rest of the guys in the truck “wouldn't it be funny if a bird hit me in the face and started to fly around the truck? About 30 seconds later that exact thing happened.Another instance is when me and a buddy were driving to Alabama to visit friends. We were driving down the interstate and I got a really bad feeling like something happened and people were dying. I told my friend about this and even told him I didn't think it was anywhere in the U.S. After arriving at our destination I saw on the news that there was a huge earthquake in Japan and a lot of people died. Most recently was about a month ago. I live in Illinois and the rest of my family lives in NY. I was playing with my nephew at the park when an image flashed into my head. It was a friend of mine and my brothers who still hangs out with my brother, the image was our friend slumped in a chair. I called my brother to see if everything was okay. He went to our friends house and found him dead in his recliner from a heroin overdose. No one knew he was on drugs.

I have a really weird feeling something bad is going to happen. ?

I have felt like this before and I don't know what to do. I mean that usually when I get a bad "vibe" that lasts for awhile something usually happens, but now its like ten times worse almost to the point of me getting physically sick and I can't help felling that there is something I'm supposed to do. Almost like something is going to happen to somebody near me.

I have a feeling something bad is going to happen?

Yeah, I have those days sometimes. They really suck to have, because I never know what to do. I just go so paranoid trying to sleep because I'm scared something is gonna happen.

Just.....try to do something that'll take your mind off of it. That's what I do. Anything.....read a book, listen to music WHILE dancing, clean your room, just DO SOMETHING. It helps take your mind off of it.

If you have a gut feeling something bad is going to happen, does that mean that there is a chance to change things and avoid it, or is it inevitable?

If you have a gut feeling it means you were able to make some connections the conscious part of your brain isn’t able to piece together. Whatever you understood subconsciously could very possibly be the end result of fears instead of sound logic, nobody is infallible and therefore your prediction could be miles off the end result so surely whatever your gut tells you is not inevitable. But assuming your gut is not betraying you, so to speak, and that you won’t get a lucky break which will naturally fix things, unless you pinpoint the root of the problem, the chances your gut is not keeping in consideration your actions are slim, unless your gut is also telling you there is something you can do.Boy do I feel like I’ve been talking nonsense after writing gut feeling so many times.

I have a feeling that something bad is going to happen?

I feel like just anything bad is going to happen at any moment. Some are like threats from my past are actually going to happen.
One, in particular, happens most often. I feel like my 86 year old great grandmother is going to die at any moment even though she is in perfectly good health. I've read that this is paranoia vera or something like that, but I've also read that it's anxiety.

I have a weird feeling that something bad is going to happen?

This has happened to me so many times I've lost count. Your feeling that something bad is probably going to happen is most likely a direct reflection of what you fear the most. I doubt you are having premonition related occurrences, it seems that you are just troubled by the thought of losing what you hold dear. Your anxiety could also possibly be caused by uneasiness of the unknown. Life is naturally unpredictable--things could be completely normal one moment and entirely out of balance the next. However, you should not let yourself lapse into the habit of thinking dark thoughts such as those. It's quite unhealthy to do this frequently, especially if you use it as a way to relieve boredom, pain, etc. I am not saying that you should be air headed, but perhaps to be a little more light and choosy on the kinds of complex emotions that you let trouble you and travel deep within your mind.

What does it mean to feel something before it happens?

If the phenomena you are describing is real, it can be empirically tested and demonstrated. There is good reason to do this, because proving that you can predict the future would make you eligible for, amongst other things, a million dollar prize. There are many people who have made claims to have psychic powers like this, although the prize has not yet been won.All public figures that have made a lot of money claiming to have psychic powers avoid stringent tests like this - presumably because it would show that they are frauds.I would encourage you to try to test your ability to consciously predict an outcome in a repetitive fashion, like with a deck of cards, or songs on a radio. If you find you are never able to make useful predictions prior to an event actually occurring, then it would suggest you are experiencing a form of confirmation bias - which is the most likely explanation.

Once, I laid in bed and had a feeling that something bad was going to happen to a certain person the next week it happened. This freaked me out. What does it mean?

It means that you have a great example of how humans apply the knowledge of current events backwards to make sense of previous events. This is a skill we inherited from our ancestors that likely kept us alive. If you eat an apple that looks funny, then get sick, you can retroactively figure out that the funny apple likely caused your illness. A dog, however cannot do this. The dog will eat the funny apple and get sick 100 times and never figure it out.Unfortunately, this retroactive analysis skill we have is oversensitive. We think we've put two and two together to make four, but we are just fooling ourselves. Everyone fools themselves like this sometimes.

Why do i get the chills when i feel like something bad is going to happen? i.e. crazy person talking to me...?

It could be either anxiety about something happening, or your reaction to a heightened awareness.
You said when you "feel like" something bad will happen. Does anything actually happen? If not, seek counseling.
Is something does happen, then you can learn to work with your awareness. That you state it is like a crazy person talking to you, shows that you are having difficulty dealing with it. I have worked with this situation several times and it is more normal than people would realize. Everyone has the awareness to some degree, most just do not develop it. Others have no choice because it is so strong, I had to learn for that exact reason. It is a better way than to deny or fight it, that often ends in a mental institution or cemetery. It can be a "gift" as many call it, but at the same time it is a curse. It all comes down to you and what you do with it.
If things do happen and you would like to contact me, feel free to write, maybe I can help or point you in a right direction.
