I Have To Deliver A 20 Minute Presentation On A Philosophical Topic Of My Choice Does Anyone Have

What could you give a significant presentation on with absolutely no preparation?

According to experience, basic macroeconomics. For my German class last year, I had to give a presentation related to anything about Germany. Some sort of cultural integration, I guess. My presentation was going to be about my forecast for the short-term socioeconomic conditions of Germany. Basically, GDP forecasts, position in the EU, inflation, etc.Well, the thing is, the teacher was going to hand out an exam to our class after the days presentations. However, we had heard from the previous class that if the presentations take up the whole 60-minute period, we will not have to take the exam.Unfortunately, I was the only person from the 5 people scheduled to present that day, who had actually prepared a presentation. That meant that my 5 or 6-minute presentation had to take up the entire 60-minute period. But when there’s a will, there’s a way. When I got to the part where I had to talk about GDP, I started rambling and rambling. I began by explaining G + C + I + NX and then talked about the various ways you can forecast each of the factors. Then I kept on talking about how this was going to happen to the government spending, and how that would happen to the consumer spendings, and on and on and on…I explained inflation and its relationship with tons of other factors. I explained how the wages are set, how consumer confidence grows, how that affects things, etc.The presentation took up around 55 minutes until the teacher cut it short and said “Okay, okay. I won’t quiz you today. At least let me tell you what the homework for next week is.”I was hailed as a hero that day. It was a fun experience.

Does anyone have a logical argument supporting free will?

Surely, reactions in human affairs take place in accordance and response to an environment and we may fairly underline the tendencies of those actors in their decision. However, it does not entail in any manner that they could not potentially disrupt from them, nor that these circumstantial and natural indicator are the sole cause of human actions. Prove me beyond all reasonable doubt that this relation between cause and effects is not just a reflect of a man's judgement which would, in and of itself, express - insofar as we would or could admit it - his will. In more common terms, I pretend that coherence in agreement or disagreement with a given subject doesn't entail that the response is determined, but that the options are limited and coherent with the circumstances.

It's actually a paradox. And, it's also one problem that science cannot solve given its basic assumptions: it assumes a deterministic system - it looks for causes, but freewill commands nihilism, absence, lack... however, it doesn't show us how or by which means this postulate is correct. If Science were to be used, the proof would by necessity cyclical: science assumes the existence of causes.

It's not in favor of anything, actually. All it does is showing that the real nonsense is to deny the entire problem the question posits.

What topics are interesting to talk about for 10 minutes? I'm thinking about a class presentation that I will have in a few weeks and I can't come up with an interesting subject.

Any topic can be made interesting as a presentation if the presenter is interested in the topic themselves. Choose a topic which interests you and research it in depth. During your research, you will find many unique facts about that topic that will likely surprise and delight you. Incorporate them into your presentation because they will also surprise and delight others, particularly if you feel excited about them (because that will help your audience feel excited as well).

Philosophy: What does it mean to be human?

A human is an animal that was given a higher level of comprehension and thought than other animals in existence on this planet. We thrive for understanding, and sometimes cope with the lack of it by thriving towards money and external goods.

I'm not entirely sure what the American Dream is, does it mean to reach for goals that are in an externally developed position, or to be self-realized. I'd rather have spiritual development than outside development, because the world can take away your body, but they can never dent your soul.

I believe friendship is very important, and it is important to want for another as much as you want for yourself. But realizing, that only they can control them self, and only you can control you. But, it's always nice to have help and learn from one another.

Loneliness may be more of a choice than condition, though quite possibly both. I am about eighteen and a half and have never been intimate with a girl, that means relationship wise as well. I used to be lonely all the time, but once I developed my thinking, I realized that it is wrong to depend upon someone else for your happiness. Happiness is a choice, if you want to be happy, be happy, only you can give yourself the ability to be content.

Have a great day, hope I could help. If not, I hope you find what you're looking for in someone else's answer.

I need some kind of inspiration. Can you give me a meaningful quote?

"be the change you wish to see in the world" is a good one. I also like, "reach for the moon, even if you fail you will land among the stars". Also, "Life is not about finding who you are, but becoming who you are"

Someone walks up to you and tells you, “For every IQ point you give up, you will be rewarded with $100,000US”. How many IQ points would you be willing to give up?

I will reiterate what I sort of implied in a previous answer. I personally don’t like having a high IQ and envy those who have lower IQs. Now, I’m not insinuating that I want to be average, or even above average; I’m implying that I would be willing to trade 20–25 IQ points because it’ll ameliorate my current emotions.20–25 IQ points translates to roughly $2–2.5 million dollars (I don’t know how much will be taken away from taxes, but I assume it’s tacit that this is pre-tax money, not post-tax). I don’t mind being a millionaire and still have an IQ high enough that allows me to pursue a quantitative(or philosophical because money isn’t an issue anymore) career. It wouldn’t be much of a career, due to the freedom I have to pursue many topics of my choice without the fear of not making money. I would personally invest that money and watch it augment (I know it’s highly uncertain of how the stock market will perform, but in the long run, markets tend to proliferate).Overall, I would trade roughly 20–25 IQ points soMy emotions will ameliorate significantly (ignorance is bliss, and I’d rather be happy in my life than be an aberration).I’ll be liberated from the damned confinement of financial issues, being able to pursue my favorite choices of pure math, physics, and philosophy without worrying if it makes enough money.Lastly, I’ll still be gifted. I was tested as 158 on the WISC and due to ceiling effect, some friends suggest I’m roughly 165+(I’m a little incredulous, but if I was, I would like to be in the range of 130–140).

How should one prepare for IIM interviews?

I remember being incredibly terrified after reading other people’s IIM interview experiences. How the hell did these candidates know so much?!As I read more interviews and tried to objectively analyze them, I began to understand why I was getting so terrified - the interview was specific to the person. There was no way I could know what a chemical engineer did, and I was 100% sure I was not going to be asked it. The interview will solely be about me.There are thus three C’s that are key to success in an IIM interview - consistency, clarity and confidence about yourself. How do you build this?Question Yourself: Ask yourself all the possible questions that you think you maybe asked - from the generic “Tell me about yourself?” to the specific “Why an MBA now if you’ve already got a management consulting offer?”. I made a list of all these questions (at least 50+) and wrote them down on a Word Document, a lot of these were inspired by IIM interview experiences. This effort will make you confidentAnswer Yourself: Once you have these questions in place, write free flowing answers to each of these questions. Let them be open ended and imperfect. While you write these answers a lot of unanswered questions will be answered, and you will understand a lot more about yourself. This effort will bring you clarityRefine Yourself: Now that you’ve written all these answers, read them again and say them out loud (take the help of a friend or a sibling). You will realise that there may be contradictions in your answers or inconsistencies in what you say. Iron them out and improve your answers. This effort will bring consistency. The IIM interviews sound harder than they actually are - you turn out to be much better than you think if you put in the effort. If you feel that the CAT went well - start preparing, the headstart will be useful!

Do you think that giving love would have been the best choice?Nah!!You could always give your love to her, but these small things that matter in a relationship really creates that bond between the couple. Here, money wins love.Case 2:You are a young lad working in a big MNC in abroad and far away from your family. You do good in your job and your bank balance soars so high and you have all the comforts that a normal guy couldn't even imagine. But, still you feel incomplete. You start to think with a cup of coffee, I have everything in my life, but I'm missing something. You fall on your bed and close your eyes for a minute.Suddenly you could see your mother in front of you asking ‘ what happened son? You don't look OK. ‘You realize now that all these money can't match a caring word from mother. Here, love wins money. You always need money and love in your life.
