I Hurt My Foot Today Could You Possible Tell Me What Happened

What would happen if I shot my foot?

My grandfather told me a story from his WWII days. I was quite young when he told me but you’lol get the idea.My grandfather and his fellow soldiers were on a ship preparing to go into battle. Shortly before they were to land the stress got to one of the men so he decided to put a bullet through his foot and take himself out of the fight. In doing this he placed his foot flat on the metal deck and fired his rifle point blank. The resulting concussion/ ricochet blew his entire foot off up to the ankle. Probably not his intended result. So I guess the moral of the story is if you're going to shoot yourself in the foot lift your foot off the floor and maybe use something a little smaller than a M1 Garrand

Help with a hurt foot/ ankle?

ok well, i was surfing today in shallow water and fell/ jumped off my board thinking it would be deeper water, but it wasn't and I hurt my ankle/ foot pretty bad. Anyway, this was early today and it happened a few minutes after I got to the beach, so i decided to push it aside and finish my surfing. Now, here it is, 10 hrs. after it happened and i still feel as much discomfort as i did when it started. There is no swelling or bruising but I can sure feel it. It hurts when i try to walk on it and sometimes tingles. Can anyone help me and give me a possible answer to what it could be?
thanks,
-Madison

I pray to Jesus Christ about my foot hurting and nothing happens, but I believe in him. Why did this happen?

I am sorry that you are hurting. Physical pain or spiritual pain is not good..at first. But since you pray to God you also probably understand that pain is also very good for you. There is a reason why pain is there now. There is also a reason why we have doctors and pain medicine. Some physical pains can be healed, cured by conventional medicine, some can be cured by spiritual healing (in our Christian context would mean stopping for a moment and thinking if this pain is not just an alarm to make you aware of a mistake you have made and once you understand this then praying to God to forgive you for whatever you have done and participating actively in the church life where at least one service is actually meant for the sick - Anointing of the sick service) or some pains will not be healed at all.As some of my fellow Quorans already answered, praying to God for getting better doesn’t not equate automatic healing. God is not a genie or some mythical creature bound to fulfill our wants. God is a very personal God who talks to you in His ways…if this pain is a simple symptom of some ailing, go to a doctor. If this pain is a consequence of a mistake you have made, go to church. Whatever it is, trust that God wants your best interest and pray also to His Saints and Mother of God. Perhaps this is a message for you…He wants you to discover the beauty of praying to a Saint so you can discover what it is like to walk among His friends. In any case, apply some common sense to all that has been said, go to a doctor first to ensure that this is not a simple symptom but keep praying. Persistence is also the key :)I can tell you an example of my own life…when I was around 13–14 I had some horrible toothache as living in a communist country did not gave me good options for good dentists. So one day as I was experiencing intense pain I started praying to God and asking His help. Nothing happened on that moment..I kept on and in parallel also started taking some “folk medicine” (not because I do not believe in medicine but because I did not really have access to it) and after some days I realized the pain is no longer there…and it has been 20+ years since I ever had a toothache (even though my teeth are not in the best of shapes)…was my prayer received and answered..I definitely think so.Wish you and everyone good health and good faith! I will pray for you, maybe your pain was also a way to motivate some of us to pray more for our neighbors…

Is it possible to break a bone and not even KNOW you have a broken bone?

yes i work in an ER and we actually had a pt that came in today said she had fallen on concrete about 2 weeks ago ....her friend was actually brought up here in an ambulance and she just figured that since she was up here she would go ahead and have her elbow checked out because it hasnt' quit hurting since her fall...it was broken

Have you ever broken/sprained your foot? What happened to you? Details!?

I sprained my right ankle by wearing platforms...I got an air cast for it and had to practice the Rest
Ice
Care
Elevate
It sucked n i know how boring n stuck u feel. I had this throbbing that wasn't so much painful but annoying.
I had to walk in crutches for bout a week. I've been told that spraining your ankle is more painful than an actual fracture.

Why does the outside of my foot hurt?

I am not an expert but when my foot hurt like that it turned black and I had to wear a cast on my leg for 6-8 weeks. It turned out I had not only pulled one tendon but I had also tore one or two tendons on top of that. This happened a year ago when I was in the sixth grade. If it continues to hurt I would consult a physician. I hope your foot gets better and notify me to tell me what is actually wrong with it. It could be what happened to my foot but there are some other possibilities. Again hope you get better!!!

Someone stepped on my foot with soccer cleats on...?

On wednesday at my soccer game some fat chick stepped on my foot and it hurt like super bad i wanted to cry.

and at the end of the game i looked at it and there were cleat prints left on my foot!! (the left half by my pinky toe)

and then the next day i had a bruise and it hurts to move my to pinky toe and its red.

and today the bruise is even bigger and the cleat marks are still there!

Is it possible to have like gotten a hairline fracture or something?

If a car wheel goes over your foot very quickly, would it hurt?

One of the (many) dumb kid things we used to do was occasionally put our casually-shod feet under one of our friend’s car tires as they were leaving. Boy were we hilarious. No, it did not hurt, even rolling at normal “backup” speeds. Not something I would do now or EVER recommend, but (seriously, without ANY endorsement of my 16-year-old idiocy) it did not hurt.Mind you, this is a foot flat on the ground, not a leg outstretched or some other unsupported limb.

What happens if you don't fight a cramp? I felt a huge cramp in my right leg. I instantly fought the cramp, straining to keep my leg straight. I felt frightened about what would happen if I didn't hold the cramp off. Would it break my leg?

There are many different kinds of cramps, with a lot of different causes. The worst case... you could rupture tendons or even break bones. So, you've got that going for you. That's extremely unlikely. What's far more likely is that it will simply hurt like crazy, as the muscle spasms and yanks everything around into an extremely uncomfortable position. It's actually better to use your body weight to fight the cramp than your opposing muscles, which are often comparatively weak. Put the limb against a hard surface and lean into it, which will feel counter-intuitive but can often help. Generally, once you get some circulation back to the area, it will restore the necessary levels of electrolytes and remove waste products, alleviating the cramp.
