I Hurt The Outside Of My Knee From Soccer.

I hurt my knee during soccer today...?

I'd see an orthopaedic surgeon right away. Apply ice as well, this will help to stimulate the blood flow and keep any inflamation down.
Pain in the kneecap can be tricky to diagnose without an MRI.
Since you're not in terrible pain, you could have a small tear. The tear could possibly be your meniscus, it's very common. Some people are able to live with a torn meniscus, by avoiding movements or activities that trigger the pain.
Go get it checked out....the only way for a doctor to know for sure is to have an MRI and make sure you're seeing an orthopaedic.
Good luck!

Knee popped during soccer?

i was playing an indoor soccer game tonight, and when i went to control the ball my knee popped as i was coming down on top of it. I know its not a dislocation, torn mcl, or acl. I was able to jog around on it fairly comfortably, but when i would make a cut or kick the ball, or anytime there was pressure put on the side of the knee it would be a shooting pain, and feel "loose." Like it wasn't secured i guess. But at first that was the only pain i was dealing with. Between the field and my house it had time to sit and stiffen, and now its just painful to walk at any point(not excruciating). Am i dealing with something that may need looked at? Or does it sound like a tweek and ill be good in a couple days?

How do soccer players slide on their knees, and not get hurt?

Depends on the surface. Professional pitches are much better looked after than your average pitch, and tend to be watered in the build up to a game. As a result, the ground is wet and much softer. This means less friction, and less damage. If you were to perform a slide on a harder ground, you are more likely to cut yourself. And it doesn't hurt. All pitches are watered before they're played on, this makes the surface quicker and a lot smoother. They're gliding, not really sliding. If a player jumps on their knee's they'll get stuck and flop, so they slide on their legs rather than just their knee's. If that makes sense. Try sliding on grass after it's just rained - it won't hurt you at all. 3g pitches hurt A LOT!!!! Regardless of the turf being wet or not, the little black rubber bits will cut your skin up like crazy. I hate it.

A Soccer Injury... Knee?

I believe that I had a minor hyperextended knee. I sat out for the rest of the game, but numbed my knee for a couple hours and came back for the 5 p.m. game. This morning it was stiff and hard to move, but I just completely numbed it again and went out for my 1 p.m. game. Now it's stiffened and hurts all the way from my knee to my foot. I have soccer practice tomorrow night which I cannot miss. What do I do?

Why does the outside back of my knee hurt while sitting cross-legged? Only “injury”: Landed wrong on my feet and felt weird and wobbly, but continued playing my soccer game. Then next few days it was difficult to walk and painful (5mths.ago)

You have an orthopedic injury. It could involve the lateral collateral ligament - the lateral meniscus - or some structure in the popliteal area - the musculotendinous attachment of the lateral hamstring, or???Ask your primary doc to refer you to a good orthopedic specialty office. These days a lot of things can be treated with physiotherapy. Some hurts require surgery. Postponing care often results in more extensive injury (thing keep tearing further and deeper) with concomitant expense.Even if this thing seemed to get better 5 months ago, it could be a time bomb just waiting for that odd movement. A big-time aggravation could happen (I’ve seen it).I was a primary care doctor in a small town for 21+ years. We had a shortage of physicians, so everybody generally worked together - I was good an orthopedic and neurological sports injuries, so I saw a lot of them.Good luck with that. Follow the recommendations of your providers. They want to help you get better quickly.

In soccer, players take a knee when someone is hurt on the field to show respect for the hurt player. What do baseball players do?

At the youth level, at least in the US, players are instructed to take a knee in place when a player is down. It has nothing to do with respect. It is to keep them from gathering around the injured player and getting in the way of people responding to the injury. It also can help them from being traumtized from seeing a severe injury close up.At higher levels, high school, college and professional I never see players taking a knee when a player is injured. Nor have I seen it done in International games or other major leagues such as Premier League, La Ligua, Bundesliga, etc. The players stand about away from the injured player. Some may take a knee or sit down to rest.Baseball players do pretty much the same thing. At the youth level they are encouraged to take a knee in place. At the higher levels they stand about, away from the injured player allowing the player to be tended to.

Should I play soccer wearing a knee brace?

Knee brace is not a supplement to increase your playing capability or is it advised to prevent Sports injuries. Do not wear a brace if you do not have a knee problem. If you have a specific knee condition that has already been diagnosed by a Sports Surgeon, then follow as per his advice - this shall vary extremely based on the ligament that is injured and the severity of injury. If you have a knee problem but have not yet consulted a Sports Surgeon, I would advise you against wearing a brace.
