I Just Applied To Toys R Us

I applied for Toys R Us Overnight Stocking.... questions....?

No idea, but I wouldn't dismiss that notion. So, you might as well prepare for that part of the interview if it happens.

They probably will make you do something besides overnight stocking, but probably only for emergencies. During the interview, the interviewer will give you a chance to ask questions, so you can ask that then.

Don't be nervous. I know it's easier said than done, but if the interviewer feels that you're comfortable with yourself, they'll see that confidence as positive. So try not to do any nervous habits such as tapping your fingers/feet, fidgeting around the seat, or saying uh/um. Just relax and breathe.

Help about a Toys "R" Us job?

Everything is pretty much the same as other interviews. They'll ask you to introduce yourself, how long you'll plan to stay with the company, why you chose toys r us. But the most important part would be your ability to sell. I dont know if this applies to all stores, but when I went in for my interview, they had a table of toys. You choose a toy and try to sell it to the interviewer. Some tips would be:
Always read and then promote the pros of the item
Tell them that if the toy is not something they like, there are a variety that they can choose from
Be friendly and offer to help

I worked in the video games department. If you get along with the other coworkers, it's fun as heck. We messed around a lot. The only bad parts about the job is that occasionally, your manager will pressure you to sell insurance or credit cards. Also, on busy nights, dont expect to get home early cuz you'll be picking up tons of toys from the ground and organizing them back on the shelves. Overall, its a really good experience.

Good Luck!!

I just found a $30 Toys R Us gift card (Nov 18). Is there anything I can do with it or should I just trash it?

Just trash it. My dad ran a Toys R Us for 31 years, and was there through the end. In the last months, they couldn’t even accept gift cards since the company declared bankruptcy. So there’s DEFINITELY no use for it now. And even with talk of the company coming back under a new name, the big wigs are so cheap and stingy I can pretty much guarantee they won’t accept it.

What time does the toys r us off hours stock crew shift start?

There is no set standard shift. You can start at ANY hour in which they operate.....just like every other position. That is like asking "What time does a McDonald's cashier shift start?"

Why hasn't Toys R us called me back?

If you had a good application or resume it wouldn't surprise me if you get a call soon. Some retailers have already started to hire for the holiday season and others are just getting started with doing so.

If you don't hear from them, it might be something like you are getting a bad reference at one of your old jobs when they call to check.

If you have experience, flexibility, and so forth - I really don't know why you aren't getting a call to least come in for a job interview.

I also wanted to ad that you should try to apply for other jobs in retail stores - the mall and so forth. Everyone is gearing up for the holiday shopping rush. So basically any place that sells good Christmas gifts (department stores, clothing stores, sports stores, and so forth) is a good place to apply for a job right now.

Are Canadian and Asian Toys R Us stores closing too or just in the US?

In Australia they have gone into voluntary administration.Toys 'R' Us Australia goes into voluntary administration

Toys r us maintenance interview?

I was thinking of applying to toys r us for a job as a maintenance/housekeeping guy. I heard the interviews there have you building things out of legos and trying to sell toys to others. Does this interview apply to just people in sales or is it just a regular interview for janitors. Also I do not have any job exp but I'm a hard worker and 18

What about the Toys R Us IP is so valuable that its owners believe it can be revived?

14 examples:Sharper ImageTexacoZenithWestinghouseEmersonMagnavoxSylvaniaAcoustic ResearchBlackBerryWoolworth’sLinens ’n ThingsAtariPostumBell & HowellTo a greater or lesser extent, each of these are companies that went out of business years ago, some of them decades ago, and at some point sold their name and logo so fluidly that some of those examples may shock you. Sometimes they were famous for just one thing, and so their competitor bought their name and slapped it on their product so now they have two bites at the market share apple. Other times something related only in abstract ad agency meetings bought them. Maybe the target market for a brand still trusts that brand and so don’t really even notice they’ve gone from selling cell phones to depends—it’s the same customer.Toys ‘R Us will have another 50 years of being synonymous with toys. Many of you know that in Toys ‘R Us the last few years, there’s been a big FAO Schwarz section full of expensive stuffed animals. I think that wasn’t a partnership; but FAO going bankrupt and Toys ‘R Us buying their logo. Simple as that. And surely by Christmas WalMart will start selling stuffed Geofferys with Toys ‘R Us stamped on the side, and in a few years, wooden toys, and in a few years, someone will relaunch the chain and you’ll think “oh, someone bought the company!” But no, they just bought the logo…Google zombie brands. And another thing… the website. They don’t need stores to still do $50M in sales forever. And like Borders.com became just a skin of BarnesandNoble.com, pretty good odds ToysRUs will soon, at least on the backend, just be a facade over Amazon or the like. Because why skip Christmas? Just take the orders and have someone else fulfill them! Again, two portions of market share.
