I Just Want Milk That Tastes Like Real Milk

Does powdered milk taste disgusting?

I am just wondering what powdered milk tastes like? Is it gross? Does it taste like regular cow's milk? We ran out of milk but I have some of this in the cabinet. Our car broke down so I am debating trying to mix it together, or just walking to the store to get more milk.

Does lactaid milk taste like real milk?

I'm lactose intolerant and there's a lot of things I want milk for but can't.
My doctor recomended lactaid milk, but I dont want to waste my money if it doesnt taste like real milk?

What does human breastmilk taste like? Is it any good to the adult palate?

Sweet! There is a lot of lactose in breast milk (and fat) but the high lactose content gives it a sweeter taste than cows milk. Many women have tried the experiment, most don't write blogs about it, but here's one to check out. An Experiment Comparing The Taste of Cow's Milk to Human Breast MilkMy guess is most end up trying it because they are afraid it went bad (that’s how I found myself sniffing and then ultimately trying a sip). If you've never had a kid (like me, I mean physically); breast milk is like gold. Each drop counts, and I wasn't going to wake my napping wife! We were only a week into parenting. The problem was, I couldn't remember how long the milk had been on the counter (apparently the counter life is 6 hours). In my sleep deprived, new parent “dad-on-duty” panic… I took a sip. It was sweet. Baby lived. Wife napped. Glad I tried it.

How does whale milk taste like?

Like all whales, the blue whale is a mammal and not a fish. It is warm-blooded, has lungs rather than gills, and nourishes its young with milk. A blue whale's milk tastes like a mixture of fish, liver, milk of magnesia, and castor oil. Unlike cow milk which generally contains 4-6% fat, whale milk and other marine mammals have milk fat percentages in the 40-65% range. Fatty milks are like slurping very soft butter and make a perfect base for ice cream. Since the milk already has a high fat content the only real step in the production of whale's milk ice cream is to slowly cool it and whip it into a creamy consistency. The completed ice cream maintains the wonderful tastes that you would expect to come from a marine animal. Don't even think about eating whale milk ice cream if you are watching your weight because this ice cream contains 900 calories per half cup serving.

The question that always gets asked is how the milk is collected from the whale.THe method is pretty much what you would expect, they put on scuba gear and swim under the whale and grab on to one of its teats. The whale will pull you along as long as you hold on and then grab another teat and squeeze like you would with a cow (only much bigger). The milk is very thick due to the high fat content (the consistency is similar to mucus) so they capture it in a fine net like you would use too skim a swimming pool. Once theyhave a full net of milk they let go of the whale's teat and swim back to the boat where they transfer the milk into a bucket and then refrigerate it.

The rest of the process is pretty much like making normal ice cream.they have also experimented with whale's milk yogurt, cheese, butter, and cottage cheese but my favorite is the ice cream because it's simply excellent. the ice cream because it's simply excellent.

What is Lactaid Milk, is it real milk or not?

lactaid milk has no dairy in it

Which plant based milk tastes the most like cows milk?

Yes, they don't taste like cow's milk. but you can get used to them. I have been drinking soy milk for 15 years and I now perfer it. I use vanilla flavored for drinking straight. and plain unsweetened for cereal and smoothies and recipes. I drink almond milk or coconut milk when I want a change.

Also remember that milk (plant or animal) is not required. For drinking - all you need is water. you can get ALL of your other nutrients from food. but if you need a few more calories or a few more grams of protein each day - soy milk can help (plus an easy and convenient source of calcium and some vitamins.) So in way milk is just a convenience or a luxury.

also if you can afford the calories - try some of the sweetened milks. I have been cutting down on coffee and found that a hot chocolate milk instead is a real nice treat.

Which milk taste better alone and which is healthiest: whole milk, skim milk, soy milk, almond milk, Vitamin D milk or 2% milk?

As a kid in elementary school, I would only drink chocolate milk. I didn’t like the flavor of plain milk, so it was Quik to the rescue! As a young adult, I switched to Ovaltine, because of the advertised additional vitamins. Now that I’m grown and certified as integrative nutrition health coach, I know that those added sugars and flavors weren’t doing me any favors—though they temporarily masked the flavor of milk. So, let’s tackle the question of taste first. It’s subjective and not always a good measure of what’s best for you. See the above chocolate milk scenario. Plain milk is certainly healthier than chocolate milk; but taste buds celebrate/salivate over sweet stuff. Plus, taste/preferences can change. So even if you turned up your nose at shrimp as a kid, you might like it now. They are adaptable. So don’t put them in a box. Taste buds can be trained over time, esp. if you expose them consistently to the flavor you want them to enjoy. To answer you second question, the most natural choice is the healthiest. Anything that is overly manipulated by adding chemicals (vitamins/flavors/preservatives/colors) or taking ingredients away (fat) is going to be less preferable. Our bodies function most smoothly on what they can recognize as food.Looking at your choices above, which do you think is the most natural? You got it. Whole milk. I would even advocate going more natural still and trying raw whole milk! It’s legal in 43 of the 50 states, so it’s not as “scary/risky” as some make it seem. Raw whole milk retains all of its natural enzymes and proteins, undamaged by pasteurization or homogenization. If you drink any of the other milks on your list, I suggest taking small “training” steps in the direction of more natural/organic choices (i.e., if you drink 1% milk, switch to 2%. If you drink 2%, try whole…) until you are finally at raw whole milk! And the taste? It’s creamy, rich, and naturally sweet!

Why does almond milk taste so good?

Let me explain you the taste. It doesn't really taste like almonds, but it doesn't taste like cow's milk either. I don't really know how to describe the taste. It also depends on which brand or type you buy as well. I always buy the refrigerated Diamond brand, unsweetened. Sweetened or vanilla flavor is good if you drink it a lot as a beverage, but I mainly use it for cooking and baking. Silk brand almond milk tastes really off to me, and I've never liked any non-dairy milks that come in boxes on a shelf instead of refrigerated. They taste like powdered milk to me, which is disgusting.I absolutely prefer almond milk over cow's milk, mainly because I'm vegan, and it's just weird to drink milk from anyone other than your mother when you're an infant, but it also tastes much better.Almond/soy/hemp/rice/etc. milks are all soooo much healthier than cows milk. They're much more nutritious, and free of saturated fat, hormones, antibiotics, cholesterol...all that junk.

Why does milk in America have no taste? Milk in other countries is pasteurized and homogenized like here, so our milk is not "more processed".

What you are describing has a few factors to it.For one, mass produced milk is typically raised on a very homogenous diet. Things often taste like what they eat, and this can be extended to what they are grown in for plants. Now while a glass of milk might not taste like Timothy Hay, an egg from chickens drinking open sewage will taste like it smells. (Not one of my fondest memories, but I was in a third world country where the chickens had been wandering the streets with open sewage. I had no idea they were drinking that water until I took a bite of the eggs. Spit them out and went hungry for breakfast that day). This is further wrapped into thousands of gallons are all put together, further balancing out the final flavor. A cow roaming around on mixed pasture is going to give the best flavor profile.Just like anything, if you locate a local farm, I can just about guarantee it will taste different. Varying levels of milkfat, regional diet and handling all contribute. In fact, some local milk right from the farm can spoil very quickly and pull in some very undesirable flavors…teet contamination can bring on some really bad/strong flavors very quickly. In many places in Europe they have that small producer mentality in a lot of cases gives you that more direct flavor profile and the idea of “lowfat” is nonsense. I have never bothered with anything low fat. Either eat less of something rich or don’t eat it at all. It’s kind of pointless to me to drink something that tastes like nothing…I’d rather have some water.

Is soy milk supposed to taste watery?

Soy milk definitely ranges in taste based on the brand. If you feel that the brand you recently purchased tasted too watery, then I'd recommend trying a new one. If you really want to taste the SOY, you should buy the "original" flavor of whatever brand you had when you first tried it. The original flavor doesn't have any extra flavorings, so you can definitely taste the soy.

I used to drink soy milk, but I personally now prefer almond milk- you can DEFINITELY taste the almond.
