I Keep Having An Injury On The Same Leg And Its Painful. Im Training For The Gnr Need Advice On

My cat is making a continuous purring sound all the time, is that normal?

Place your finger on your cat’s “adam’s apple” and see if you can feel vibration there. This is to verify that the noise is a purr. Now, is the noise steady, or only heard on the inhale or exhale? If the latter, your cat is having respiratory difficulty and needs a vet.If no vibration at voice box, the cat needs a vet. Place a finger in front of the cat’s nostrils and see if you feel air moving evenly out of each nostril. If not, off to vet.If cat is behaving normally, has not changed in anyway physically, (hair coat, eating and “bathroom” habits), and is not showing any behavioral changes, and it IS a purr, and not harsh and/or irregular, you are probably OK.If you feel vibration at the chest (under the left elbow on the side) and not at the voice box, go to vet. That’s a sign of heart problems (murmur and a bad one). How old is your cat? Overweight? What breed? When did this start? The more detail you can give me, the more info I can give you, but all in all, any time anything weird comes up with a cat, I tend to lead toward a vet visit as cats can be very ill before they show signs (they are prey as well as predators so hide symptoms), and can crash very quickly indeed.

Pets: How would a dog react if I tried to lick its face?

Lots of great answers here and especially a good warning from Ian Armstrong. Face licking (particularly the nose as Greg Chalik pointed out) is a dog's way of showing a bond and submission in the pack.  If you lick your dog, you are sending an amazingly confusing signal effectively trying to lower your status in the pack by demonstrating a very intimate submissive behavior.  Depending on the typical relationship with the dog, the dog may react with a hyperactive movement indicating the beginning of play to an all out aggressive display based in fear or frustration.I haven't ever licked a dog but I've hugged and tickled and played with many of them.  My worst experience happened earlier this year while grooming the winery dog, a dog that I've known for over 6 years and lived with for two.  He was laying on the patio and I sat down to pet him and pulled out a few stray fox tails (none of which were stuck in - they were just laying in the fur). I moved from the neck and continued back slowly toward the haunches.  He was relaxed and calm, laying on his side, his tail was thumping the ground and he seemed to be very much enjoying the attention.Within the blink of an eye he turned up and back at me snapping at my face which I was lucky enough to move out of range.  I rolled back and away from him and he continued the attack biting me eight times in the back of my left arm through a t-shirt and long-sleeve flannel. Here's what I got:My point is that dogs do not think like us, communicate like us or behave like us.  Why would we want to act like them without knowing what it means to them? It could be dangerous at the worst and confusing at the least.Don't lick the dog, Stevie.  (Just sounds like a name of someone who needs careful instruction (sorry Steve)).UPDATE April 8, 2016:  The dog died this week.  The owner's daughter now lives at the property where the dog resides and noticed that he had blood all over his side.  Thinking that he had a laceration she rushed him to animal emergency only to find that the bleeding was internal and that he had probably regurgitated the blood and lain in it.  The owner was contacted overseas and he asked that nothing be done until he returned.  The dog died the day before he returned.  I am still torn about my feelings for that dog and I will miss the times we spent together.

How can I develop muscle while training at home?

You are always going to struggle to build a decent amount of muscle mass at home. Purely because in order to increase muscle size, you must progressively get stronger each week or incease TUT (time under tension). This is hard to do with bodyweight training. For example, with press ups, you would need to add more and more weight, not reps because an increase in reps would build muscular endurance, instead of hypertrophy (building of muscle)My advice would be to join a cheap local gym and get stronger each week doing squats, deadlifts, chin ups and dips. If you are unsure about the movement of these exercises, I would advise you to invest in an expert to help. After all, the time is going to pass. You can either spend it guessing and hoping, or you can seek out experts to guarantee you succeed.Sorry if this isn't the answer you were looking for, but i prefer to tell you the truth and save you wasting your time.

What is a typical week for a WWE superstar?

You may think this answer starts out in a weird way but bear with me because I think, and this may just be a guess on my part, but I think that you are about to be pleasantly surprised.I will have to go anonymous here, since my employers, regulate and pretty much supervise all of the digital content we put out . For the aforementioned reasons and more, I will not tell you my real name or the moniker I use, and I hope you will be understanding. As any wrestler, my typical week follows a pattern similar to this one:I wake up, usually at 4 or 5 in the morning, go for a run, which distance depends on my physical readiness and recovery. But it is usually no more than 10 kms and no less than 3. Back from the run, I have a hearty breakfast, free of any sugar, which I hate because I have something of a sweet tooth. Hehe.If you believe it, after  I am done with breakfast, I hit the gym. It's no secret that we are provided with one of, if not the best performance center and gym ever. So, I refer to my personal trainer whom I will not name either, and he usually trains me for 2 to 3 hours, sometimes 4 hours a day if the session precedes a pay per view. The body part you work on any given day is a cycle that keeps you guessing. Going into my workout, I never know which body part I am supposed to be working on.When we finish working out, we take a little break and then, with my coworkers, we rehearse everything that has to do with the next event. We have match rehearsals, get informed about the winners, losers and test out our lines in the backstage or on-air promotions we are gonna deliver. The process takes anywhere between 4 hours and 8. I know, it sounds like torture, but having coworkers you are actually best friends with, helps a lot.Our job isn't your everyday job. We barely have any days off, we get very little sleep, don't get to see our families that much, we travel a lot and jet-lag is a real bitch to deal with. Our bodies ache for the most part but we do it with a smile. We genuinely love what we do and once you are inside a stadium and when you get to soak in the reactions of a crowd that is happy to be there, all of this fades away, and you can't wait to do it again. I don't know if there were any hints to my identity, but you are welcome to try and find them. ;)

Can I complete the Great North Run?

Of course you can.

My first Great north run - in 1:48 from crossing the line - I had run no further than 4 miles either, so you can do it and do it well.

Though with hindsight, I would perhaps try to do a longer run for the 3 weekends left, perhaps 6 or 7 miles - half distance. This is a good confidence boost that you can do it. During the weeks perhaps run 2 or 3 lots of 4 mile runs, and have a couple of rest days. The week before the run, do some easy running (nothing too hard) and relax.

Day of the race, get there early - remember all the roads in Newcastle are closed (or so it seams) so aim to get there early, hang around in your allocated pen, and enjoy the unique atmosphere.Talk to people, admire the costumes.

During the run look at the crowds - they are there to see YOU run and remember that. All the kids put their hands out for a high 5 - they love it when you do it back (don't know why a sweaty runners palm is good, but they love it). Then there are the bands on the run.... anyway, you can do the run and its great. Looking forward to it already now I've written all of that!
