I keep procrastinating!!! I can't do my assignments!!!!!?

It 11pm Saturday and i have an history essay due tomorrow at 12 noon. and I've only done the intro.. I'm going really slow also, even when I'm motivated I still can't get much done!!.. Also my art assignment is due Monday I have only draw 1/4 of it and i still haven't even painted.... I can't even paint good!!!! ... i know i should get off... BUT I'm stressing out!!!!!MY mind is everywhere :(

Why do i keep procrastinating?

Maybe you're lazy JUST LIKE ME? haha don't worry about. My grades suffered aswell. All you have to do is "JUST DO IT". I know when you think of "work" you just want to go sleep. Or maybe not? well i'm sorry if I'm not being very helpful. If you hate doing your homework 'cause you procastinating alot do what I do. Do your homework and reward yourself afterwards. Put what's important first and something you procastinate for last. always works. Good Luck Buddy. SInce you care so much about yours grades you don't deserve this. :)

Why do I keep procrastinating?

One of the most common reasons people procrastinate is because they are perfectionists. This may sound silly, but, a procrastinating perfectionist will be so afraid to fail, they make excuses not to start.
In this case, it would be best to try and work with your perfectionist side, not the procrastination itself. Take it easy on yourself, try to reduce your self criticism. Solve one and the other will follow.

If this does not sound like you, it could simply be a lack of discipline on your part, or some laziness. Nothing to be ashamed of ;) To try to fix this, set some goals for yourself, with rewards. You'll be more likely to do your assignment at 5'oclock if you promise yourself something enjoyable in return.
For example, "If I hand this big project in on time, I'll buy that new video game". If you don't follow through on the homework, no reward for you!

Good luck.

HOW TO STOP PROCRASTINATING?

Sounds like you're a little overwhelmed by the work and the pressure it brings. To alleviate some of the pressure and overwhelm you could break things down in little pieces. Little pieces that can be done in 5 or 10 min for example. Doing something for 5-10 minutes is manageable, don't you think? Doing little bits is a lot less stressing than doing it all at once. It's also easier to do in between of the nice things. So see what you can do to break things down in smaller pieces. By doing small bits at a time, you progress. Slowly, yes but also steady and will be less overwhelmed. And you'll have time to do fun stuff as well.

It's also a good idea to schedule bigger projects in advance. That way you know exactly what to do and when so it doesn't get to much and you still have time for other, better, things.

If breaking it down doesn't work then remind yourself that if you don't, life will only suck more. It sucks already enough as it is so just bite the bullet. Now it looks bad because you're grades are bad, but if you can get a grip then you'll see things will improve. If you have a problem doing it on your own then ask a friend to do homework with you. Or maybe join for the time being a study or homework group. It's only for the time being, until your grades are good again so don't feel bad about asking for help if you need it. It only can make things better in the end.

I keep procrastinating on my homework, what should i do to stop procrastinating and to focus more???

First of all, get all the distractions away (TV, iPod, computer, etc.). Next, make a checklist so you can make a plan.
And before you sit down to do your homework, get a snack, so you won't have to get up during homework time (could bring a distraction.
Last, sit in a quiet place, on a non-messy desk with nobody around you.

This works for me. I dealt with the same problem, too.

Why do I keep procrastinating? How do I stop it?

You’re wondering: “Why do I keep procrastinating, overthinking, or not doing what I know I need to do?”The secret reason for your progress or lack thereof is Newton’s First Law. Here it is:An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion at constant velocity unless acted upon by an opposing force. This law is used to depict inertia between physical objects moving around in a space-time continuum. One of those objects is YOU.This law depicts the idea that momentum pushes certain objects into motion or sends them into another direction. It means you as a human being are constantly influenced by external objects, your own internal mental states, other people, widespread beliefs, and ideas. The secret to getting things done is using inertia and leveraging momentum.Archimedes said:Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world. This is the law of compounding effect: the more you do something the more momentum you’ll gain.Look at a space shuttle shooting off into spaceThe space shuttle uses half its fuel just to get off the groundThe space shuttle uses over 90% of its fuel to get one foot into the airThe space shuttle uses less and less fuel as it climbs higherThe space shuttle uses almost no fuel at all once it reaches the orbit of the EarthEinstein called it the 8th wonder of the world and considered it as a universal principle.Like attracts more likeMoney makes more moneyAddiction creates more addictionProcrastination leads to more procrastinationSo it is with you wanting to be productive.Even before you sit down and start doing something, you experience immense resistance. It’s as if something’s dragging you down to the ground. You’re like bootstrapped. But once you overcome this initial barrier, you’ll gain momentum and hit the Zone. Then your voice of hesitation and procrastination will be silenced and you’ll move through space and time as if on a magic carpet rideIf you really look at it, then it’s the truth. Although a massive cliche, the Nike slogan is right – Just Do It - and keep going.Read the article: Newton's Momentum, Nietzsche's Will and the Secret to Getting Things Done - Siim LandStay EmpoweredSiim

I keep procrastinating on my homework. i have homework right now. how can i stop procrastinating?

Make yourself a promise to do 20 minutes at a time, with a 5-10 minute reward for good effort.

In smaller batches homework may not be so overwhelming.

Reward yourself with snacks, music, texts or television.
No work, no play is a good policy.

How can I be successful even if I keep procrastinating?

You cain’t. Let me help get you out of the trap of delay. Procrastination is usually the result of fear. Fearing the unknown is a worst fear than knowing what needs to be done, but you don’t want to for some reason. So say your greatest fears are the unknown ones. Like how do I really know if what I do next really matters. Or, how do I know that this next thing will help me get to the next step or level. How do I know rather spending this amount of time or money is worth it. These are unknown fears. To break this type of thinking, you should step back from analyzing these fears and find out more about these matters first. Find out what is said, about these things from others, from research on the web, or library. Explore what others have done, or said. Talk to people directly, get a smattering of opinions. Keep at this until you become an expert with knowledge. For that’s the trick, it is and always will be knowledge will over come fear.
