You’d think it’d be best to ask them to clarify, but if you’re the only one who didn’t understand, hold off. Having gone through boot camp, I can tell you that you don’t want to draw extra attention to yourself. This would be one of those situations to avoid. Ask one of your fellow trainees instead to clarify it if this is a basic situation. However, if you’re in the middle of being instructed on how to shoot a weapon and don’t understand something, IMMEDIATELY ask for clarification. In a serious situation that involves damage, injury, or loss of life and you need further instruction, ask for it from your DI. However, if it’s just a question about how to make a 90 degree angle on the corner of your bed sheet while making your bed, just ask a buddy. And remember, if you want boot camp to fly by faster and easier, don’t bring extra, unwanted attention onto yourself, but do in fact complete what’s asked of you to the best of your ability, always. Best of luck, and remember that boot camp isn’t the real military, just the initiation process to break you down and get accustom to military ways/life.
John mayer has claimed time and time again that the song is about Olivia Wilde, a famous actress who is most commonly known from the fox series House. However, as a guitarist, when I play the song it makes me imagine finding someone who can give you the feeling you get when you play an instrument. The feeling I get when I play guitar is like none other and if you call it "Olivia" then yes, something like Olivia is what I need to find.
I could never understand how it is possible that we all talk about love, acceptance, we all “worship” notions like ones expressed in Lennon’s “Imagine”, Armstrong’s “Wonderful world”, we all admire people like Gandhi for example, but when it comes to our lives in practice, we all behave in the opposite manner, loving only ourselves while exploiting, using everybody else for our own profit, benefit, plunging into wars, arguments, hateful debates, destroying everything and everybody around us.It is like we have a deep, innate need for “true love” inside, but in practice we simply cannot awaken it, use it, give it and receive it. In practice separation, hatred rules everywhere. This “Pharaoh” - this hateful, egoistic ruler in us - is so strong, that even when we fully understand that without “true love” - selfless, unconditional mutual service of one another, mutually responsible and mutually complementing cooperation - we won’t be able to survive in a globally integrated and totally interdependent natural system, we can’t change our instinctive reactions and trust, accept one another. There must be some very unique split, dissociation, dual personality inside us, this insatiable, primordial yearning for love and the inability to acquire it, which consumes us, that does not let us to become happy, content in life. How could we fully understand what is happening inside each and every Human being? How can we find a way to mend this “Jekyll and Hyde” inner war to help us survive collectively and rise to a qualitatively higher level of existence by using the two reins we received from evolution?!The Dualism Of Nature | Laitman.comEvolution Of The Method From Adam To Our Day | Laitman.com
Anybody know this john mayer song ?
It's "Stitched Up" by Herbie Hancock, featuring John Mayer Exactly how you hear it, is exactly how it all went down… It was later in the evening That the facts and the figures got turned around True, there was a woman Yes, she did advance my way And I can’t be sure exactly but I swear I saw her say my name It was the right time She was the real thing I had to walk away (See) Don’t wanna be, stitched up out of my mind Feeling strung out, laggin’ behind All trapped in, can’t do a thing because I’m Locked down Stitched up, feeling the burn All strung out, I finally learn that Trapped in, can’t do a thing because I’m Locked down I wonder where she came from I wonder where she’s gotta go Who’s to say she’s single And who’s to say she’s on her own Girls like that don’t sleep alone (Alright here's the thing, here's the thing) That girl is flawless, and I know I’m not the first one to think that And since I'm not the first, I sure won’t be the last I'd spend my whole life looking behind my back I just don’t think I’m up to that Stitched up, out of my mind Feeling strung out, laggin’ behind All trapped in, can’t do a thing because I’m Locked down Stitched up, feeling the burn All strung out, I finally learn that Trapped in you can’t do a thing because you’re Locked down Stitched up, out of my mind Feeling strung out, laggin’ behind All trapped in, I can’t do a thing because I’m Locked down Stitched up, feeling the burn All strung out, I finally learn that Trapped in you can’t do a thing because you’re Locked down Locked down Stitch me up, string me out Trap me in, lock me down Stitch me up, string me out Trap me in, lock me down I don’t wanna be Stitch me up, string me out Trap me in, lock me down Stitch me up, string me out Trap me in, lock me down Because I'm down and down and down (Ooo)
John Mayer - Assassin song?
I think it is easiest to understand the meaning if you replace the term assassin with something like Heart breaker. You can guess on which celebrity it was for. "I work in the dead of night, When the roads are quiet, No one is around To track my moves" He is telling us that he knows he is a Heart breaker, and he does it slyly "Racing the yellow lights, To find the gate is open, She's waiting in the room, I just slip on through" More of the same, he is able to get through to women easily. "You get in, You get done, And then you get gone, You never leave a trace or show your face, You get gone, Should have turned around, And left before the sun came up again,But the sun came up again" His assassin/heart breaker motto, get in, get what he wants and leave with no emotional attachment. The problem is he doesn't and gets caught up in it. "Enter the morning light, To find the day is burning the curtains and the wine, In a little white room" Doesn't seem as deep, basically the next morning. "No, I'm not alone, Her head is heavy on me, She's sleeping like a child, What could I do?" He is saying he is a sucker, he tries to be a heart breaker but falls for her. "You get in, You get done And then you get gone, You never leave a trace or show your face, You get gone, Should have turned around, And left before the sun came up again,But the sun came up again" More of the same He is saying he was the best, he could go in get what he wanted and leave without a trace. This time there was someone who was better than him (Reminds me of Mr & Mrs Smith.) She stole his heart and left him to die. "Suddenly I'm in over my head and I could hardly breathe, Suddenly I'm floating over her bed and I feel everything, Suddenly I know exactly what I did, but I cannot move a thing, Suddenly I know exactly what I'd done and what it's gonna mean to me, mean to me, I'm gone" The feeling of love combined with hindsight? "I was a killer, was the best they'd ever seen, I'd steal your heart before you ever heard a thing, I'm an assassin and I had a job to do, Little did I know that girl was an assassin too" More of the same, again "She's an assassin, She's an assassin, She's an assassin, She's an assassin and she had a job to do " How can he blame her? He is/was just like her.
Can someone please explain me the whole John Mayer thing?
John Mayer is a guitarist/singer/songwriter who made headlines yesterday for a recent interview he conducted in Playboy. He used the "N" word, and while admittedly not trying to use it in a racist fashion (very few places on the net put the rest of his quote up making it look much worse than what it actually is, check Playboy's site for the full interview), he admits that it is still an "emotionally charged word" and that he should have "never used it" in a way that tried to "intellectualize the word". He also got called out for speaking too candidly about his relationships with Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson. Later yesterday evening at his concert in Nashville, he broke down at his concert during the middle of his song, "Gravity" and began apologizing again, very tearfully and emotionally. Regardless of whether or not what he said was "bad" or simply "too much", I think that far too much of a big deal is being made of this supposed "debacle". As far as the "N" word statement goes, I'm black, I read his entire interview, and in the context that he used it along with the quote that followed, it is fairly clear that he was not being racist. However, most people feel as if he shouldn't have used the word at all, which is where the problems lie. He also referred to his genitalia as being "David Duke" and says that he doesn't open him self up to dating black women. He claims he needs to date separately from his genitalia. Like I said though, people are focusing on his misstep far more closely than they need to. Move on, let the man live his life, and stop trying to make him out to be more than what he is, which is a musician. Not a racist, not a douche. Just a bit too candid for the media.
In 2011 is John Mayer writing any new songs?
He's too much of a gayboy.
I also am not a John Mayer fan. You need to understand that art is subjective and not objective. John Mayer isn’t boring. You (and I,) are bored by him. The distinction is huge, and very important to having any real understanding of art, and of other people. Not everybody is exactly the same as you, dogg. That’s kind of what makes life interesting.
