I Lived On A Shady Side Summary

What is the difference between Marshall Mathers, Eminem, and Slim Shady?

As you already know, Marshall Bruce Mathers III is the given name for the rapper Eminem. He chose Eminem as his rapper name because it represents his initials, “M-and-M.” Many consider ‘Slim Shady’ to be a nickname for Eminem, but I believe it is something larger than that—Slim Shady is more of an alter ego for Eminem. Slim Shady is the dark, twisted, and violent side of Eminem’s music.Throughout the years Eminem has been scrutinized for promoting violence in his lyrics and messages—he mentions this in a song “Renegade,” by Em and Jay-Z:Now who’s the king of these rude, ludicrous, lucrative lyrics,Who could inherit the title, put the youth in hysterics,Usin’ his music to steer it, sharin’ his views and his merits,But there’s a huge interference,They’re saying you shouldn’t hear it,Maybe it’s hatred I spew, maybe it’s food for the spirit,Maybe it’s beautiful music I made for you to just cherish,But I’m debated, disputed, hated…I won’t dispute that Eminem has been featured and performed in some songs with very violent, screwed-up, and offensive lyrics, which can be seen in the song “Dead Wrong,” by Biggie Smalls ft Eminem. I will not post any of those lyrics because they are not appropriate.Over the years, however, Eminem has tried to distinguish between his two alter ego’s, Eminem Vs. Slim Shady. The songs that feature him as Slim Shady tend to be darker and more violent—he uses Slim Shady for different styles of rap and subject matters. According to various sources, Eminem claims that Slim was contrived as a means to vent on topics that he himself cannot, spitting lyrics that reference drug use, rape, mental instability and gore. In the first verse of “Just Don’t Give A ****” he immediately cites Slim Shady, which prepares us for an angrier tone.To wrap all of this up, in a freestyle session on Sway in the Morning, he and Paul Rosenberg (well known artist manager, radio host, and friend of Marshall) discuss at 7:18 how people take Eminem’s raps too seriously. Eminem says “I just say sh** to say it…it’s very rarely personal.” To re-quote him in Renegade (lyrics above), “Maybe it’s beautiful music [he] made for you to just cherish,” and nothing more.Alter Ego’s are not uncommon in the hip-hop world.Tyler, The Creator often mentions Wolf Haley, his alter ego, who is attached to the bad experiences/influences in his life.Nicki Minaj has an alter ego in Roman Zolanski, a flamboyant, gay, and outspoken doppelganger, though I don’t know much more than that.

Some quote sites with humorous and clever quotes from famous people?

For Example:

1. "Common looking people are the best in the world: that is the reason the Lord makes so many of them."

2. "I like pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down at us. Pigs treat us as equals."

3. "Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity."

4. "A classic is something that everybody wants to have read and nobody wants to read."

5. "Live in such a way that you would not be ashamed to sell your parrot to the town gossip."

6. "God heals and the doctor takes the fee."

Imagine you are living in a foreign country. What kinds of things will you miss about home?

I have lived overseas for more than eight years and have yet to experience a nanosecond of missing the U.S.That includes South Korea (six years) where very few people spoke English, where the food was much different and you ate with chopsticks, drank soju and had a great time. The cost of living there is half to one third that in the U.S. of A., it is said to be the most wired country in the world and it has lots of stores where you can buy western stuff.I then moved to the Philippines where its warm to hot most of the time with a few cool days thrown in, where it rains a lot eight to nine months out of the year, where the food isn’t as good as Korean, but where almost everyone speaks English, is a lot poorer than Korea, and the cost of living is really inexpensive. I’ve been here two-and-a-half years and am likely to stay for a lot longer.I have yet to miss one damned thing about the country where I spent 60 years.

What happens in Disney's movie UP?

The start of the film deals with a couple that met as children and have grown old together. There dream was to go to the jungles of South America to visit a mythical place where their childhood action hero disappeared. They never live their dream and the wife dies. Now as old crotchety man, he lives in an old house, alone. He is annoyed by an overanxious boy scout who needs to help the elderly to get his last merit badge. The world changes around him and a large building is being built right next to his house but he refuses to sell. He is forced to go to an old age home but he decides to fly his house away by tying thousands of balloons to it and sail to the land that he and his wife dreamed of.
