I M Planning To Join Gym Swimming As I M New To It I Need To Know The Best Order For Gym

Is it better to swim after or before going to the gym?

Well , it is not advisable to go for swimming either before or after even a moderate workout in the gym. The reason is obvious, our body heats up during weight-training (definitely not when you go to the gym and get yourself engaged in taking selfies as many do ) and the temperature is low while swimming. This transition of body’s temperature is not favoured within a short period of time. There may be chances that you won’t feel much stress but it do have a long term effect on our body. Also the pace of learning would be reduced when you go for them consecutively. It can also be seen in terms of energy. How you could you perform well when you are already exhausted ? And this would finally lead you discouraged when you’ll see your friends performing better than you after a certain period of time. The other day happened an incidence in my own college. A boy used to go for gym and them swimming after 15 mins of rest. One day while swimming when he was in the middle of the pool, suddenly he felt unconscious and drowned. Thanks to the instructor who were there to save him.I am not asking you to drop out one thing . Instead I would advise you to go for one thing in the morning and for the other in the evening ( Infact at present, I do the same, swimming in the morning and Gym in the evening ). And if you are too busy, I would recommend you to learn swimming first cause you have a lot time ahead in your life to build up your muscles. Don’t worry.Best of luck for your schedule.

Tomorrow, my gym class is starting the swimming unit. I’m scared to death of it?

Like I’ve been freaking out since I heard about it and right now my ‘freaking out’ is really bad. I’m crying buckets and feel like I’m going to throw up. I’m so scared. I haven’t gone swimming since I was 9 [14 now]. I hate swimming because I’m really scared of drowning and choking underwater. I’ve been having nightmares about swimming for a long time. I really don’t want to go swimming tomorrow in class. My teacher made it clear that we can’t get out of this but I don’t know I can even survive it. My mom says that life is life and I have to get over it but I just don’t think I can. I’m so scared. I keep thinking I’m going to have a panic attack before we go in and I don’t want to throw up at school or have everyone see me freaking out. I’m so scared. I really don’t want to go into the pool and drown or start choking on the water or have the chlorine burn my eyes out or something. I don’t know what to do. Half of me is just ready to lock myself in a closet and not go and instead panic while the other of my brain wants to get out of this.

We're doing swimming in gym class, but I can't swim?

In my gym class last year there was a girl just like you. She was very scared of swimming, so she got her mom to write a note that she had issues with water. (She nearly died from a slip into the pool 3 years ago)
The teacher let her go in the kiddy pool and so long as she got her hair wet, and she moved around (So even walking in the water that was a half a foot deep) she got full credit and a standard grade. She also had to write a one page paper on why swimming is a good form of exercise.

So if the pool where you are swimming has a kiddy or shallow pool see if your teacher will accept that (like what my friend did) along with a paper on swimming and a note from your mother (or doctor if it is really stressing for you).
If he refuses go to the principal and complain.
But make sure you add a paper along with the getting your hair wet proposal as it shows you take the class seriously.

But you need all three components so that this will work:

Offer to get hair wet, and pick up other people's swim things and put them in the proper spot. (Like kick boards and stuff)

One page paper on swimming and its benefits. Make it three pages if you can't get your hair wet or there is no shallow pool.

Note from your mom.

Good luck!

BQ: Yep. Social study guide, and math lessons 1-4. Not to bad for a change.

BQ2: Catch up on sleep, put up the Christmas tree, and go shopping for stuff I really need. Like razors, conditioner, shower gel, and chap stick.

What is the process of joining a gym?

Here are some things to look for:

1) monthly fees: how much are they?
2) joining fee: how much and is a one time fee?
3) commitment: are you locked in for a year? 2? or can you cancel at a month's notice?
4) hours: some new places are 24/7, but make sure it is open when you need it
5) programs: make sure they offer what you want, and that you can access what you want, when you want

Try the local YMCA (you can find them off www.ymca.net) because most of them do NOT have long term commitments like Bally's or Gold's. Good luck!

Swimming in gym class?? How to deal with it or get out of it?

So we're going to have to swim in gym class eventually. I really don't want to. I have good reasons though. Gym is in the middle of the day, so going through the rest of the day after swimming will be impossible for me! I'm not used to swimming at all. I don't think I've been since like 5th grade! I don't know how to swim either. I never learned. Everytime I tried, I would either get sick or 'my time of the month' would start. So yeah...I'm in the 9th grade and I don't know how to swim.
Another reason, I can't get my hair wet. It's really long and it doesn't go well with chlorine. I can't function when it's wet. It bothers me. I don't like to put weird products in it either, so....I don't know what to do. I don't want my makeup to run either. I only wear eyeliner and a bit of concealer. I wear a lot of eyeliner though. Is there a way to keep eyeliner on in a pool??
I can't wear a bathing suit. They're too indescent. I never even wear shorts or anything that shows my legs. I never wear sleeveless either. I'm an extrememly conservative dresser. I'm really shy and my culture actually frowns upon showing skin. my parents don't agree though. They think that we should be as modern as Americans. My mom won't write any type of note or anything like that. She doesn't understand how hard this all will be for me.
And, I know this is a really bad reason, but I don't want my crush to see me in a pool. His culture really frowns on showing skin, even more than mine. And he's never seen me without make up. He can't see me like that at all! He already hates me. I'm sure he does, but I think he thinks I'm pretty or at least descent.
Can you give me any advice. I'd rather get out of it rather than just deal with it. Also, I don't want to mess up my grade. I have straight A's and I can't afford to get bad grades at all. Please please help!!! I don't know what to do! And having a period apparently isn't an exuse because scienctifically, the blood stops flowing when in contact with pool water. That's so gross!!! I don't believe that at all. That's what my coaches believe. Ew..
Anyways, any advice would be appreciated. Please don't tell me to just get over it or just deal with it. If i have to deal with it, then at least help me by giving me advice. Thanks!!

Gym+Swimming+Period+Coed Class+Male teacher?

same situation at my school.
just wear a pad in your swimsuit during roll call and stuff,
but right before you get in the water, ask your teacher if you can go use the bathroom. then go to the bathroom and take out the pad and get in the pool as quickly as possible. once you're in the pool you have nothing to worry about. there won't be a stream of blood following you [just like there's not usually any blood when you take a shower.]
just do this and you'll be fine.

PS: DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT get in the pool w/ a pad on! that'll be extremely embarrassing.

Is it good or bad to do bodybuilding and swimming together.?

- I go to swimming first then for Bodybuilding; now I'm planing to change the order, I mean do Gym first than swimming.

I want to know that if it is good or harmfull for body to do both thing together, and what should be the order? Swimming then Bodybuilding or Building than Swimming? or it just doesn't matters?

- I don't get enough time to go Gym in the morning and swimming in the evening... I do both in the evening after work.
