How do I create and Apple ID for use at the iTunes App Store without a credit card?
i've bene trying to download free apps on the itunes app store but it won't let me because it's saying that my apple ID hasn't been used for it and that the account needs to be "reviewed". i'm using itunes10 and it doesn't give me the option to choose "none" for the payment method. i only have VISA, MASTERCARD and AMEX. sigh. itouch 32gb with no apps. please help. :(

I go to download an app or buy a song, and I get the message "There's a billing problem with a previous purchase. Please update your payment method." Do I have to enter another gift card to get apps? And will an iTunes Gift card work?

You don't have to have a credit card or an iTunes card to download content, especially if it's free. There is a way that you bypass it and people still don't know. I'm assuming that you haven't made an account since it's asking for payment information. If you haven't, go on iTunes and click on the iTunes Store. Now, click on App Store (Yes, App Store) From there, pick a free app then download it. A window should pop up asking for you to sign in. Click on create Apple ID and insert in your information. When you get into the "Provide A Payment Method" section, you'll see a row of credit/debit card companies. Guess what's next to that option? NONE! Click None and just insert in your iTunes card (if you have one. If you don't that's okay.) and insert in your Name, Address, and Phone Number. Click create Apple ID and you're all finished. :) Now, you're able to download any content from the App Store without this issue. Oh, and insert this info onto your iPod so you're able to download content from your iPod. Note: If you do have an account already, from your computer you will need to sign in. Once signed in, click your Apple ID and click on View Account. Next to payment type, click Edit. Click on None and continue by pressing Done. That should fix the issue. I hope I helped.

Yes of course you can ,just go to apple store in iTunes, and then select a free app, click it, iTunes will notice your to sign in, and then select to register an account, some steps later you will see a lot of credit card, and then last one is "None", just choose that.
