If you don't know what a diaper cake is here is an example, (This is not my website, just an idea for you to see what they look like) I really like the idea of alliteration with a three word name for my diaper cake business and since they are called "cakes" maybe something to do with a "bakery" or "pastries". I also make washcloth lollipops and candy, diaper wreaths and an assortment of other baby shower crafts,so I don't want it to do strictly with diaper cakes. I've thought of a few but it's sorta difficult to put baby and bakery in the same sentence because it could possibly sound ...morbid or something ..but any opinions on these? What is the "central support system" in diaper cakes?
I am selling a diaper cake to a friend and she is at the other side of the US than me... on ebay I see that people are using a "central support system" to keep them from falling apart. While I believe the diapers are wrapped tightly enough that they would not fall apart, I'd like to be sure. I was going to use a dowel rod but perhaps there's something better? How do you go about using whatever "device" you use?

Hello; My mother has asked me to make a diaper cake for her friend who is expecting a baby. Well i was going to make a 3 tier diaper cake. But im not sure how to ship it? Should i put it in a box with bubble wrap or what should i do?
How much should I charge for diaper cakes?
First take the cost of the diapers: Take the amount in each bag divided by the cost...say you got a pack of 50 diapers and it costs $12...each diaper would cost .24 cents. So take .24 * 67 = $16.08. Then take the cost of the Ribbons and bows. You get a pack and it costs you $4 and can make about 4 cakes from it then it only costs you $1 for each cake. Then the cake topper..how much does one of those costs, lets say $6. Then you add up everything: $16.08 + $1 + $6 = 23.08 Then you wanna add profit or labor whatever...you thik it takes you about an hour to make one, that should equal a regular pay of $10 an hour so I would charge about $30...just to make it even. Or if you get the bulk diapers & crafts from like Sams then you can deff charge less for everything, then go from there with how much you wanna make or not make. Hope this wasn't too confusing...
