For an automatic car, is transmission fluid the same thing as coolant?
They are as already been said different, however comments suggesting you never work on cars are insulting. You didn't know your question, now you are educated, keep asking questions and you could progress to basic car maintenance in no time.
Can u die from drinking brake fluid?
Brake fluid contains ethylene glycol and derivatives. It's antifreeze. While drinking ethanol can cause alcohol intoxication ( http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/... ) "As little as 120 milliliters (approximately 4 fluid ounces) of ethylene glycol may be enough to kill an average-sized man." It's pretty common for suicide attempts and a fairly common accidental killer of pets. Dogs think it tastes good. No over exaggeration - that stuff can kill you. What's more, real alcohol is a whole lot cheaper. "Brake Fluid" is also the name of a mixed drink. Equal Jack Daniels and Orange Juice with a splash of Grenadine and topped with a cherry. IMHO, pretty nasty combination but at least it's not a poison.
I swallowed antifreeze?
You will be fine. Your body knows how to deal with poison, which is what you just did there. You just ate poison. Your body will get rid of it. It is not as toxic as some things that will kill you with just a few drops. What others said. Having enough fluids in your body will dilute the antifreeze and make it easier to remove from your body. Tip - You can use antifreeze to kill rodents because they like the sweet taste and will drink it. Be careful not to leave it where any-ones pets or children will find it though.
What would happen if one were to swallow correction fluid?
It's a question for our health assignment. I searched on google but I couldn't find the right answer. I'm not gonna do this so please NO rude comments. I know it'll kill you but how long would it take? Immediately or would it take some time? How much would you have to consume? Thanks x3
Is there an Alternative for car coolant? Just water?
pay very very close attention to your temp guage and water MAY get you there. if you have no coolant you probably have aleak and need to have that checked out too. never ever open your radiator hot like the guy above said, and also never ever start your hot engine with cool water in the system. you could warp or crack something. if you do pull over for a refill make sure it is near cool before you run with fresh cool water gain.
Does needing a tune up play a roll in your car overheating or heat goin out?
Yes if your timing is off you will overheat thus timing = tune up = no overheating. During a tune up you might check and add fluids like radiator fluid and your heat will come back on. The problems may be unrelated you may have to change out a radiator flush or service your cooling system. Fill up your radiator and your problems should go away, I hope you didn't warp anything.
