Good books about Alien x Human adventure/romance?

Yeah, I'm weird. Currently into xeno. I don't really like human looking ones, something odd like insectoid or something would be pretty sweet.

Anything but human or the classic alien look. ^^ thanks.

How is reading a book like an adventure?

To be honest, it’s not very much like a real adventure. Real adventures require risk, physical endeavor, etc.But good books can make you feel like you are in strange places. Or comfortable places. The best books stretch your understanding of the world just as real adventures generally do.I’m more of a reader than I am a true adventurer. But books help me to explore the world.

What are some books that have adventure and survival in them?

Having raised teenage boys I am going to assume that is you, based on the question. Pretty much anything by Gary Paulson has both adventure and survival in fiction format. Another book that is survival (emotional survival rather than physical) is The Day No Pigs Would Die. It is excellent. Light in the Forest is also very good. I would also look into books that are non-fiction about people who have had interesting experiences. Most books written about war will have survival stories, anything written about the Holocaust alsoHappy reading!

YA fantasy/adventure books like...?

harry potter, eragon, house of night, twilight, hunger games, his dark materials, ingo, the host etc.
out of those may favourites were probably hunger games, HP, and his dark materials. followed by house of night. i like fantasy/adventure with a twist of romance. but open to anything good!
any recomendations?
prefer series/trilogies to individual books xxx

What is your favorite adventure book?

I have read many adventure books in my 65 years, most due to the fact that I studied English Literature in college. As you can probably imagine, most were the Classics;20,000 Leagues under the sea- Jules VerneTreasure Island- Robert Louis StevensonThe Call of the wild- Jack LondonKidnapped- Robert Louis StevensonI could go on and on. All were good reads, really must reads, but my very cool English Lit. professor turned me on to the American writer, Gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson. It was 1972, I was in my second year of college and Thompson’s book Fear and loathing in Las Vegas was released in the U.S.. Now I have to admit I was a pretty wild child throughout the 60s, and early 70s ( who wasn’t?, it was the 60s after all ). I was hooked. Thompson had a very dramatic style of writing, hence the term “Gonzo”. The dictionary describes the wordas an adjective, “Of or associating with journalistic writing of an exaggerated, subjective, and fictionalized style” “ Bizarre or crazy”. Perfect definition for his style of writing, whether his stories are embellished or not. Most agree that his books are largely autobiographical, if true, what a life! After finishing Fear and loathing, I needed more of his style of writing (Gonzo) so I immersed myself in all of his works and was never disappointed.Final answer; My favorite adventure book, Fear and loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson.Hunter S. Thompson-1937–2005….”Buy the ticket, take the ride”.

What are some good books to read about people surviving on a raft or difficult ocean voyage?

You should read "South with Endurance", the voyage of Ernest Shackleton to explore the South Pole in 1915. Along with a sailing crew and a bunch of scientists and sled dogs, their ship is icebound and crushed, leaving them stranded on an ice pack in the middle of the ocean during winter. In the end, three men take a life boat during the storm season, in freezing water, to find a whaling station and must climb mountains in the middle of winter with nothing more than an axe, a small stove, some rope and a compass. After two years they are rescued, not having lost a single man. It is surely one of the most amazing survival adventures in the history of mankind.
