Age gaps or differentials: Numerous states now take into consideration the age difference between the sex partners. For example, in North Carolina, if the minor is above a certain age, sex is a crime only if the defendant is five years older than the minor. The age gap is four years in Pennsylvania and seven years in Florida.

not sure if this is right , so don't blame me if you don't get the paper right.

What is the age of consent in arizona?

The age of consent is 18, but "It is a defense to a prosecution... if the victim is fifteen, sixteen or seventeen years of age, the defendant is under nineteen years of age or attending high school and is no more than twenty-four months older than the victim and the conduct is consensual." If his birthday is before yours in May, he'd be more than 24 months older than you, so it would be illegal to have sex.

However, there's no law about dating. You can legally date anyone of any age you like.

What are the laws on getting your tubes tied in North Carolina?

I don't think it's a law. I think it is more of a prefernece/standard for the dr's. I looked into getting my tubes tied ( i mam 27 & have 2 kids) and the dr said they prefer to wait til you are older for a myriad of reasons, one being that the younger you get it done, there is a possibility of it reversing, or not being as effective later. I was like BS! So it just depends on your Dr, really. Get a 2nd opinion!

What state can a minor get married without parents consent?

For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/ayfOZ

I have no idea about these laws. That being said, I'll do a devils advocate with my advice. Some states seem to have a sexual consent age of 16. If you had sex when you were 16 and your states says the age of conscent is 16 without needing parental approval or any other regulations, then your mate might not go to jail on statuatory rape. If your state shows that the statue is higher then it would be even more risky and he would probably go to jail. If you believe it would take until your 18 to go the other route and it would indeed take that long then it would be much safer to wait until your 18. If your parents are against you marring the guy and dont like him then that makes it that much more riskier to take him to court when you don't know the law. My opinion is to have your mate ask attorneys about the laws regarding this in your state and see from there or wait which you might have to do anyways.

Why is the age of sex consent so low in the Philippines (just 12 years old)?

Some years back, I dragged my cousin to a bar and had drinks. A friend came with hotties (aged 17 & 18), both students of one of the fine schools in Manila. My cousin got drunk and we went home. The following day, my cousin, who was reviewing for the bar exams, showed me the pertinent law regarding age of consent. It says something like; “Prision Mayor” or 12 years of jail time for sex with a woman between 12–17 years old. The penalty for sex with girls younger than 12 is much worse.I also know someone who got multiple rape cases filed by a mom. It turned out that the guy had a relationship with her (14 or 16 year old) daughter. In short, it is illegal to have sex with ladies less than 18 years of age in the Philippines. The same cousin told me that the sentence of 12 years will have to be served in full and one cannot get out earlier, even for good behavior.EDIT: I searched for a pertinent law and it seems that consensual sex with a 12 to 17 year old woman falls under “Qualified Seduction” and bears a 6 to 12 year sentence.C. Requirements for seduction or consented sexual intercourse:1. The victim is a woman who must be over 12 years because if her age is below 12 the offense is statutory rape2. She must not be over 18 years (it is presumed that if over 18 years, she is of sufficient understanding to take care of her virtue and chastity). However even if the woman is over 18 if there was “Grave Abuse of Authority” or “fraudulent machination” the crime would be rape.

Statutory Rape In North Carolina For a Preganant 17 Year Old.?

My best friend and i live in north carolina and she has ben dating a guy thats 3 years and 5 months older than her. They ben together for 2 years strait, lost her virginity to him and ended up pregnant. The problem is, wen she was 16 he was the first guy she brought home he was 19 but lied to her parents saying he was really 18. They approved. When the real age was found out the parents said if she kept seeing him they were going to press charges for statutory rape. They r completley in love and still seen eachother. A year later, now she is pregnant and 17, he is 20 and they r still happily together. She is scared he will be put in jail. In North Carolina They say 16 Is the age of consent but with the approval of a parent? I also heard 17 is her consent? She has gotten pregant at 17 so we r still not sure the outcome or if its still considered a felony. If u know anything please leave a response or email me at RudeGurl_fabs@yahoo.com

Is the Seventeenth Amendment unconstitutional, since it deprives the states that did not ratify it an equal suffrage in the Senate as outlined by Article Five on how to amend the US Constitution?

This argument is based on the last phrase of Article V. After describing the ways in which amendments could be proposed and ratified, it said that: “no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate”. In other words, you can have any amendment except one changing equal suffrage in the Senate. That means that each state must have the same number of senators rather than having a number of senators proportional to its population as in the House. This was the result of the “great compromise” in which arguments between small states and large states almost ended the constitutional convention. But the 17th Amendment did not deprive any state of equal suffrage in the Senate. Each state still had two senators. Instead it changed the way in which senators were chosen. The people rather than the legislatures chose senators. Thus the 17th Amendment has no connection with the limit on amendments and, for better or worse, is completely constitutional. It is more interesting to consider other potential amendments that might change the senate. What if an amendment said each state gets only one senator? That wouldn’t change “equal suffrage”. What about three senators? Zero? If every state has zero senators that’s still equal. Now as a practical matter, here’s a proposal to change the senate. Suppose each state had one senator and the other 50 senators were distributed by some other criteria. Five for men, five for women. Five each for age groups such as 18–30, 31–50, and 50+. Five each for rural, small cities, and urban. And so on. Each of us would have more than two senators, but based on different criteria. We now have the voting technology to make such distinctions. Aside from the wisdom of such a proposal, would it be constitutional to choose some senators based on other criteria as long as every state also had equal representation?
