What problems do students face while living in college hostels?

I did my graduation from Delhi. There, I spent 4 years in a college hostel. The below answer is solely from my experiences and observations.Ragging. Yes. I don’t know about today but it was common then. “ Keep abusing that tube light until it explodes”. “Remove your clothes, let’s see what you got”. This list is endless.Anybody and everybody would knock the door of your room at any time. Yes, anytime. And mind you it’s never a knock. It’s a bang on the door. Sometimes, it’s done just to pass time.Birthday celebrations. Yes, birthday celebrations are one of the major problems faced by college students in hostel, mainly for two reasons. First, they are hit, so called out of affection, so badly that they almost reach a doctor. And secondly because, after this they have to give a huge party. Just imagine the plight!Indian toilets. Our hostel had only Indian toilets. And there were a few hostelers who were not accustomed to it. One guy could never adjust. Every morning he would take a rickshaw ride to the nearby McDonald’s to get himself relieved. Unbelievable, isn’t it?ATM. I was one. I was called so because I would succumb if one of my friends would say, “Brother, please give me 100 Rs. I will return it to you tomorrow”. And as they say, tomorrow never comes.Groupism. This is serious. First, the students from Bihar are looked down upon. And when they have no choice but to stay with other students from their own state, they are accused of groupism.Food. Groupism fails here. Everyone suffers equally :)Gym boys. If you are working out while living in a hostel, then food sucks even more. I have been a victim. But not now. Is intermittent fasting a good idea for skinny fat?

If getting your body fat down is your main goal you need to find a way to reduce your calories. Intermittent fasting is one of the many ways this can be achieved. One huge reason many people fail with fat loss is because they depend on their willpower to get them through their diet.Intermittent fasting can literally be the secret formula for leveraging willpower properly. Willpower is a muscle. And any muscle will get tired the more you work it. Willpower is no different; it’s strong in the daytime and usually gets weaker by nightfall.Intermittent fasting reduces the amount of time you have to eat and allows you to eat more of your calories towards the end of the night which usually is extremely beneficial since most people do that anyway. If you want a more in-depth approach with your fat loss effort click the title to read >>>=== 7 Ways to Improve Your Fat LossBefore you begin intermittent fasting, you must figure out which method of fasting you will do. There are many ways to do it but I encourage using the 8/16 method. This is where you fast for 16 hours and eat for 8 hours. Not only have I seen some good results with this method of fasting but many of my clients has as well.Ex: You would stop eating at 8pm and not start again until 12 pm the next day. To simplify the method, you literally just skip breakfast and starting eating at lunch time.I truly hope this works for you and hope you found value in the information I provided.Make sure you follow my page on Instagram, where I put daily videos and tips to help you along your fitness journey.>>>=== Instgram.com/aomfit

Do MBBS students have to study all the time? I have heard that medical college students have a lot of pressure, they barely complete their sleep.

Its a real misconception that MBBS people have to study all the time.I am a final year exam going student in KMC,Mangalore.I had one of my best days while in MBBS.I go to the gym regularly (Fitness is important!)This is me in final year MBBS.I went to the Netherlands from my college to present a paper recently and ended up going to Paris,Switzerland,Leiden and Germany all in final year.Last month we had a huge party in our college called 'Socials' although it was only 2 days we were planning it since 1 month. These are few pics of SOCIALSAfter this we went to Goa and Munnar too.And Diwali party afer that. Our usual Saturday night preparationsBTW I'm writing this sitting in the library which is underground so I won't be seeing today's sunset. ( Exams are up next week)My 1st 1k upvotes. Thank you :)EDIT 1: Many people are saying that I'm from a rich background so I have all these perks.Yes maybe my college fees is high but the quality of the education that I get is outstanding! Trust me when I say this! And I didn't pay a single penny to get admitted here (Through merit only).Furthermore,to get in here I left AIIMS (7 others),A college in UP (State Quota) and also another one in Maharashtra (NEET-UG) a copy of my Rank card :And I can sponsor my own needs as I run a business in Mangalore (Where my college is)So instead of complaining that people who aren't rich can't afford all the leisures life will give you, there are many opportunities, one should start recognising them.“To be able to sacrifice for what you are for what you'll become" -Eric ThomasAlso, start investing on your health rather than terrorising it with junk food and laziness, trust me it makes a huge difference.

Would "Why People Should Eat Breakfast" be a persuasive essay or a informative essay?

persuasive since you'd probably be presenting arguments against not eating breakfast.

How should teachers punish bad students?

I do not ever consider students as "bad". They make poor behavior choices. The word "punish" was used by my previous principals, but I choose not to use the word even though it comes from education psychology's B.F. Skinner in terms of rewards and punishment. To me, if a student is not following the SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), then I have a POA (Plan of Action) that I follow. The consequences vary. In my first year being a music teacher, for elementary students, I would let the homeroom teacher take care of the student after I give the names for minor offenses since we are a team of educators instead of just individual teachers. Usually, having the student practice at recess is quite effective. Parent contact is effective most of the time, but sometimes it can be difficult to contact parents because phone numbers change. Writing the student up is effective for major offenses when it goes against the student handbook. In my second year, I tried time out; it works about 90% of the time. Because I was at a Leader in Me school, I used to have the student write the pledge of their school, do a plus/delta chart, or ERO reflection during time out. The plus/delta chart is rather effective since this gets the child thinking about their behavior; the plus side is where the student writes about what they did good and the delta side is where the student writes their action plan to do better next time. This was a great tool to deter future offenses. The acronym, ERO, stands for “Event + Response = Outcome”. This is similar to the plus/delta chart, but the ERO focuses more on problem solving. With the ERO reflection, the student reflects on what happened by answering the questions on the ERO form. The questions are as follows:Event: What was the situation?Response: How did I choose to respond? Why did I choose to respond that way?Outcome: What happened? What was the consequence? What part of the code did I violate? How did my behavior affect my classmates? What could I do differently next time? What could the teachers do to help me be successful? If I do this again, then what might happen?
