I Need A Weightlifting Plan For An Offensive Lineman If You Can Give Any Advice Tips Or Anything

Tips on gaining muscle and being O-Lineman?

I am 16 and a sophomore in High school and I need tips on gaining muscle.

Last spring I tried out for football but at practice I bruised a bone in my wrist and was unable to continue as I wasn't able to use it for hardly anything for 2 or so months. I am asking for muscle tips because I am pretty weak. I was lazy my whole life but I have been changing my ways and have improve my health a lot recently and want more than anything in the world to play football.

When I tried out I weight 308 pounds. Now I am down to 284 pounds, but lack muscle. I have been trying to gain muscle in both my arms and legs, but honestly don't know how to properly gain muscle as I have no real routine for weight training.

Also, another concern is how to eat for somebody my size trying to be an offensive lineman. Since I do exercise every day & am very active now, I do eat quite a bit..

Breakfast-
Grilled Chicken
Greek Yogurt
Breakfast Bar(don't know what brand)
Milk

Lunch-
Since I am in school, I just have a chicken sandwich & the milk that comes with lunch

Dinner-
I usually have something different, but I am looking for meals I can have because I workout after school and usually am hungry afterwards.

I am 6 foot 2 inches tall, weight 284 pounds

Main answers needed:

What should I do to gain muscle?

What can I eat to stay healthy?

How can I become a good offensive lineman? What are some drills & need to knows?

If you read this and take the time to answer I thank you sincerely.

Tips for a undersized lineman?

first off don't listen to the guy that said stop lying about your weights. I was an all league guard and also played defense at only 5' 8'' and 205 lbs, my maxes were very similar to yours except my squat was a bit higher. Now the answer to your question is TECHNIQUE!!!! I was fortunate to have a very good coach but he always preached technique to me and the other linemen. Always keep your feet moving and use your quickness to beat slower opponents to where they want to go. The most valuable thing I had going for me was a lightning fast punch. If you can stone him before he even touches you, you have already won the battle. Once you lock into him just drive your feet has hard as you can and i guarantee you that he will be on his back fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage.
About defense here is the advice I can give you. Guys our size aren't going to bull rush anybody into the backfield so you are going to have to rely on using your moves. My personal favorite is the club and then rip through but others include the swim move, the quick swim, and the spin move (another favorite.) Use your moves and your quickness to beat your man off the ball and penetrate into the back field or use your rip move to squeeze down and contain plays to the middle for a DE.
Don't let anybody tell you that you are too small or not strong enough you will do fine.
Just remember that for guys our size SPEED KILLS

How big on average are high school football lineman?

Okay well I'm 5'9 and weight 185. I play FB if you want to play lineman then gain maybe ten more pounds and your in the clear. But you also have to be good a blocking. Are you good at blocking? and also you can be a FB to if you can block and run. Fb sounds like it would be great for you.

How many pushups should an O-Linemen be doing every day?

It would be more productive to hit the weights for upper body lifts of 3 sets at 8-10 reps to fail.

Playing cornerback? Tips?

I am in middle school and for some reason i joined football. I have no idea what I m doing but I did it anyway. The role I plan to plan is cornerback, and im honestly not too sure what to do during that role exept cover the wide receiver. Its very cold in Oregon too right now so its hard to focus. Any tips for it?

The only time I played soccer was in gym class, but I want to try out for a team. What are some good tips, advice, workouts, etc.?

lots of running. Fast, slow, fast, slow. Many people think soccer conditioning is passing a ball around and shooting with some running. In games players can run many many miles, and its all done by speeding up and slowing down. So, train this way! my coach would make us jog two laps around the field and then sprint one lap. usually around 10 sprints then we would be done.Another drill is X runs (sprint across the field to the opposite corner on the opposite side, then walk the goal line to the other side and repeat, only this time you are sprinting to the opposite corner you started on). We would do about 15 of those.I was a bench player and this helped me a lot in terms of stamina.
