I Need Advice From Creative People

Need advice on 1984 Creative Writing essay?

Currently, we're reading 1984 in my English class, and I was away and missed one weeks worth of lessons, so I'm having difficulty thinking what to do for this piece of homework. Basically, we have to produce a piece of Creative Writing with direct relevance to an event, concept or character from 1984. Sounds simple enough, but I'm really struggling as to what to do.

Most people in the class did what I guess would be considered the most obvious option and simply wrote a diary extract written by Winston which basically was about his fear of being caught by the Thought Police, etc.

A couple of others in the class basically wrote a transcript of a hypothetical radio broadcast advertising the hanging of war criminals, and conspirators against the State, basically propaganda.

So, has the majority of what people have produced has been based around diary entries, my teacher has said to me try to produce something other than a diary entry. Which leaves me with a bit of a problem, I can't really think of any other mediums relating to 1984 other than diary and radio. I guess there's the telescreen broadcasts, can anyone give me a advice on what would be a good context for writing about a broadcast on a telescreen?

Thanks for any advice.

Ok, this is so stupid, but hey that's me. Creative people I need your help?

Ok, so we are having a super bowl party! BUT, my wonderful two yr. old did something to our front bathroom toilet. My husband has tried but cannot fix it. Dont have the money to call a plumber till next payday, YAY! So, now all our guest have to use our bathroom. Anyway, i want to put a little poem on the door. Like a broken potty poem or something. I've looked online for one but all they have is, well, nothing about a broken toilet. So, if anyone can help. I'd appreciate it!

I need a name for my app, creative minds, help?

Rules for naming apps - make it short, quirky (so it’s memorable), and easy to spell. It can also say what the app does. Your limitations may be - intellectual property; someone else owns/ uses a name - web names; is that word available for sites and social media handles? And language - does your chosen name mean something highly inappropriate (or just funny) in another language? And there are other oddities like the UK English speaking world lots of words are spelt with an ‘s’, while is US English, they use ‘z’.So. My suggestions would be something like this:Jiffy - the quick way to organize your timePunc Tool - (‘punctual’, geddit?) - always be on timeHeadOffice - in charge of your scheduleHoncho / Head Honcho - the guy (or app) in charge of a situationStraw Boss - again, the guy in chargeYou should also look for what terms people use in searching for the type of app you’ve built and see if one of those would do… What people search for: most popular trends, keywords, topics

What are some creative things that you can do with receipt paper?

You could use the receipt paper as a final layer or even as the total material for a paper mache mask or sculpture. Here are directions and sample projects:

I think that a paper mache bowl would be a simple, but quite beautiful choice.

Another suggestion is to mummify a doll or a plush toy cat with your tape as an art piece.

Last thought would be to create a frame by frame story that would resemble a film strip by dividing the tape into a sequence of scenes illustrated with stamps and stickers.
