I Need Foodstamps But My Roommate Does Not Want To Be Reported.

Will my food stamps affect my roommate's SSD?

First of all, social security disability and ssi disability are federal programs - not state - the state a person lives in is immaterial. The rules and regulations are the same nationwide.

No. Your food stamps will have no impact on his social security or SSI benefits - whichever one he is getting. If he is getting SSDI they could care less about his living arrangements or income or fair share, etc. And if he is on SSI (Supplemental security income) which is the federal welfare program for the disabled they could care less about whether or not you are entitled to food stamps either. As long as he is paying his fair share of the rent and utilities and buys his own groceries he has nothing to worry about.

Since he's so concerned about your entitlement to food stamps it indicates he gets SSI - not social security. Because he is an adult the only other income which would matter to SSI would be income received by his SPOUSE. Since you are not his spouse they do not care what your income is nor do they care about any assistance you might receive.

I would think that he would at least know what type of benefit he is getting and that he would educate himself about what he needs to report and what he doesn't need to report. If he had bothered to read his award letter it would have told him what changes required reported. It's high time he finds out. It really ticks me off that people are so ignorant about the kind of benefits they receive and what changes the law requires them to report.

Can I get food stamps with no job?

I've been living with my freind for about 3 years. He has a good job and gets $2000 per month. Can I get food stamps as I have no job and me and my freind can split the food stamps so we can buy video games

I have a friend who needs help paying rent and doesn't have a job? What can they do to avoid being evicted?

I practice landlord tenant law on a regular basis and I can tell you from experience what not to do:Don’t ignore the landlord. Talk to them about the situation. Many are usually willing to give you some leeway if you’ve been a good tenant in the past. Good tenants are hard to find; landlords will go out of their way to help if it means you will continue to be a good tenant. This assumes a great deal as I don’t know the entirety of the situation, but as a landlord/tenant attorney I can tell you that 90% of the problems crop up when the tenant refuses to talk to/acknowledge the landlord.A few more things you should be aware of:Start looking into housing assistance. There are many programs (both State and Federal) that can help in this regard and getting started sooner rather than later is key. Find and contact your local Housing Authority. As Jennifer Ellis suggests: look into emergency aid programs locally. Many municipalities have these specifically designed for this kind of situation.Speak with any locally run legal aid clinics about the eviction process. There are many of these across multiple jurisdictions and they can help you understand what you can expect from the process, the time constraints and the specifics of your situation.Keep in mind that the vast majority of jurisdictions in the U.S. take significant time to evict someone. You may have a few months to get things in line before you are forced to move out.Use your time wisely.

Is it illegal to use my friends EBT/Food stamps card?

My friend is in prison and he left his EBT card at my house when he left, when we talked on the phone the other day he gave me his pin number. The card is still collecting money every month and has $600 on it, which seems to be the limit. My dad says that it is illegal for me to use it even if he gave me the pin number. Is he right or not? And why would it be illegal? I have been given someones EBT card to go to the store and pick up groceries before, so does him being incarcerated have anything to do with it? IDK. Please help?

Food stamp verification?

The roommate letter probably doesn't need to be formal and notarized, but you should type it up if possible so it's legible, then have them sign it. They'll worry about if it's really them and who did what if you have a fraud issue down the line. It'll be pretty quick for them to ask your roommates if they signed it, or if you just forged it -- the answer shows them who's committing fraud. Anyway, just type up something simple and have the roommates really sign it. You don't need to notarize if they don't say it.

You may need to explain the pay stubs if they ask. Most people would get those changed over, though they'll understand if you just recently moved.

It's likely a big deal you didn't mention the checking account. They're going to need full banking records, especially if you have paychecks going into that one. It may look suspicious that you "forgot" such a thing, but yes, you should bring any related info and share it with them at your first opportunity. The main thing is to not hide any info they ask for. You may or may not be eligible for things, but you really don't want to hide any info they ask for... and especially not bank accounts with money going into them.

My boyfriend makes 40k can i get food stamps? Were having a baby?

You are not single when it comes to food stamps and you are living with the father. You are a couple having a child. You are no different than my husband and myself. Is your boyfriend going to claim head of household for tax purposes when you live with him? Or is he not going to try and get that tax deduction? It doesn't work both ways.

You are part of the household with him. You are having a child together. His income counts for food stamps. And you can always get a job as well. That is not unheard of. I worked until I was 32 weeks.

Single means you do not share a bed with him and do not call him your boyfriend.

Question about EBT, roommate accusing me that I did something with his EBT.?

Hello. I had to do re-interview(update my status for my EBT) I live with my boyfriend, old co-worker, 3 of us living. (Me and my boyfriend has EBT combined together, and my roommate has one for him self too). Any how... I did my interview, told them how much i make, how much I pay for rent, address, etc.
Today, my roommate(landlord of the house) asked me why his EBT is only $30 month. And he told me that if there is too many people in the house, even it is roommate(s) they'll deduct money from the household(which is my roommate who accused me that I did something with his EBT. Which I only had an interview.)

I do not understand where and how my roommate got it was ME the one who changed his EBT.

Is it true what my roommate told me about when there is too many household living, and changing address will make the household of the owner will lose money?

I mean... it does not make any sense to me that just having interview and telling the information that I'm supposed to answer effects my roommate, the landlord's EBT changes? If it changes mine and my boyfriend it is understandable..

Please help me. Because the landlord accused me that it's my fault that he lost his money to whatever he was getting to $30 month and I've got to cover his food from what I get from my EBT.

I am very sorry if it is confusing situation....

Thank you for reading and hope I get an answer
