I Need Good Morning America News / Channel 7 For Los Angeles So How Do I Get To Good Morning

Is Los Angeles California as great as it seems on TV?

I see many images of happy people with small dogs and fast cars. makes me want to move across country to this seemingly "liberal, exciting, accepting" place with great weather 90% of the time. but is Hollywood really all it is portrayed as?

How much money do I need for a trip to Jamaica?

hey how much $ do you have in US willing to spend?
the ja $ is $70:1 US
so say if you have $5000 US then you will have $350,000 JMD (5000*70= 350,000) which is alot of jamaican money for couple of days, or weeks, but it will last you very long esp that you want a room and expenses and carry back to the US some change.

How does American TV work with different timezones?

There are 4 time zones in the Continental US. Less known, there are 2 more time zones that cover Alaska and Hawaii time, totaling 6 time zones the US spans. The time zones from East to west are Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific, Alaska, and Hawaii time.Ahh, well, they do it in two-hour blocs of time. If it’s 7am Eastern Time, then it will also broadcast live at 6am Central Time. However, it will then re-broadcast at 7am MOUNTAIN time (which is 9am Eastern Time), making the West Coast re-broadcast at 6am, Then it would repeat for Alaska and Hawaii time.Another live show this works with is Saturday Night Live. It broadcasts at 11:30pm ET in New York, and broadcasts also live at 10:30pm Central Time. Then it’ll rebroadcast at 11:30 MT, 10:30PT. About 7 years ago, one of the new cast members of SNL accidentally dropped the F-bomb, which was broadcast live for Eastern and Central timezones, but was edited out for the rebroadcasts.Shows that are TRULY live and not re-broadcast are like Presidential Debates and national sports games. Then, in the case of a debate, they’ll broadcast it at a time like 9pm ET and 6pm Pacific (Alaska and Hawaii need good DVR’s).

Good Spanish cartoons on regular tv- can anyone refer me to one?

there's a cartoon that comes on on the UNivision channel called El Chavo ( the kid) which is the animated version of the live action show from a few decades ago. Although, I think it only comes on during the weekends. have oyu considered watching a Spanish Telenovela? they tend to be more dramatic than the american Soap Operas so you don't really need to speak Spanish and you can always look for the chapter synopsis for each show online. The more interesting telenovelas come on between 7pm and 10 pm on Univision. Good Luck!

How different are the West Coast editions CBS Evening News and CBS This Morning? Are they mostly created in the editing room?

The CBS Evening News airs live weeknights at 6:30pm ET/5:30pm Central and is taped delayed for the Mountain Time Zone. After the live broadcast airs on the East Coast, Scott Pelley will stick around to put together updates for the “Western Edition”. Stories are swapped out with content relevant to listeners on the West Coast. Updated stories are taped and edited into content already aired on the East Coast, culminating in a “Western Edition” which airs at 6:30pm Pacific Time to CBS stations on the West Coast. That edition is tape delayed to stations in Alaska & Hawaii. In the event of a breaking news story or if Scott Pelley originates the broadcasts from the West Coast (most commonly at CBS Studio Center in Los Angeles), the “Western Edition” will air live.As for CBS This Morning, after the live broadcast ends on the East Coast at 9:00am ET (the weekday edition airs live only to stations in the Eastern Time Zone), the hosts will remain on set to air various live promos for local newscasts at CBS owned & operated stations. (a generic promo is taped for affiliates) At 7:00am Pacific Time (10:00am Eastern), the hosts air a specialized opening to the program live to stations on the West Coast with updated live reports. On slow news days, this lasts for about 7 minutes before the program reverts back to taped delayed content from the earlier East Coast broadcast. Occasionally, a new opener for the second hour airs live…..again for a few minutes before going back to tape delayed content for the remainder of the program.

What are some good day trips from Orlando?

You can go skydiving in Titusville. Head to the beaches in Cocoa Beach. Drive up to Daytona International Speedway and go for a ride around the track at 160 mph. Go to Mt Dora for antiques. Head to Kissimmee for some thrill rides. You can go to Port Canaveral and take a helicopter ride, or maybe a trip out on Victory Casinos boat. Hard Rock just before Tampa also has gambling. There are tours of Kennedy Space Center that take you around by bus. Winter Park has a boat tour of the lakes that gives you history of the area as well as a view of some of the nicer homes on the lakes. Forever Florida has horse back riding and zip lines. In Sannford you can spend a few hours on their zip line course. You can visit the Brevard Zoo in Melbourne. St Augustine is the oldest city in the country. These are just off the top of my head. There is a ton of things to do other than the theme parks. Enjoy.

Do TV newscasters do their makeup and buy their clothes?

In the U.S., for local affiliates, your local newscasts, some do. It depends on the market. For example, when I worked in a small market, like Charleston, SC, everyone bought their own clothes and did their own makeup. I remember there were some local consultants who came in to advise on make up tips, making eyes look a certain way, cheeks enhanced, etc., but, for the most part, we were on our own.In most markets, this is the case. Some local stores may provide clothes as promotion, and there may be hair people or make up people who train the anchors or provide services. Some anchors will negotiate a clothing allowance into their contract. Again, this depends on the market, but all clothes would be tax deductible anyway, if they’re worn on-air.When you get into the big markets, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia, Houston, L.A., Dallas, Miami, D.C., many anchors and reporters are provided with clothing allowances and make up and hair services. Usually they still pick their own clothes. National shows like Good Morning America, CBS This Morning, Nightly News, Dateline, 20/20, etc. have actual wardrobe. Clothes are usually coordinated with the other talent and hair and makeup are a given. So, it just depends where you are and how big the news market is.

Why is Fox News so biased towards the Republicans and Tea Party?

Since News Corp has been in America they have always catered to a market that was being overlooked.  Thats why we have such innovative television series such as Married With Children, The Simpsons, and COPs. These three shows alone paved the way for Two and Half men, Family Guy, and pretty much any reality TV cop show you see today.  These shows were designed to hit middle america who could not identify with upper middle class standards of NBC,ABC,CBS.  Those people in middle America also tend to share the same views towards religion and politics.  Murdoch was brilliant at entertaining and creating "news as entertainment"  Hence A Current Affair and now TMZ.   As another poster has stated most of the other major networks tend to lean left.  So that leaves a huge void for Fox News to fill.  And by them being the only one their ratings are extremely high and everything they do is polarized.  While the other stations fight for the left leaning viewers.  Fox News has no competition for that demographic.  Theoretically Fox News loses viewers when Republicans are in office because there base is not fired up.  So in order for them to fire there demographics they have to hit the extremes.  Fox does this extremely well.  They have very talented people who understand human psychology and behavior.  All modern media is propaganda to some extent because they are beholden to advertisers who want to influence their audience.  You also have to realize that people like Murdoch have very large influences over what the world perceives as fact.  He is competing with other Billionaires who have agendas of "fact" that they would like to push as well. All in the name of advertising.   Larry Page/ Sergy Brin google; Warren Buffet General Electric/Washington Post,  Carlos Slim New York Times.  All these men have agendas globally.  Murdoch is playing his position and that is why he must back the Republican party.
