Hairstyling HELP!?

I say straight hair, half way up with a cute barette, flipped semi dramatically at the ends, and volume in the crown area right above the barette. I hope you can visualize this and it helps a little bit. I know it's hard to do stuff with short hair for a special occasion.

Brothers!! need hair style help.?

i've got short hair, n i wana style it. The thing is i live in a hot country, so i hate it when i use gel cuz it starts to go away when i sweat and it makes my forehead oily.
So fellas am asking for somthing that'll have "strong hold" on my short hair so i can style them and it doesnt look glossy or wet.Somthing that looks dry not oily. So "gel" is not an option.

Appreciate any sincere suggestion for a suitable product. Thanks a lot.

Hair styles? CRUSH HELP?

for short hair, have it down, your hair swooped to the side so it cover a little bit of your face. If you don't like that, wear your hair up in a messy bun, or a ponytail. Hope he thinks you are the cutest(hottest) thing that has ever walked this planet.

Is it worth going to a hair stylist?

personally, i wouldn’t bother. If your going for a cut and style ..and got money to burn then surebut yea your right if you are just going for a style. it won’t lastheres something that you may find surprisingif you just stop styling it, let it get a lil messy and wild you will get constant compliments on it…i run a site Dreadlocks Natural Dreads and we typically recommend letting the hair dread naturally (i’m not suggesting you let your hair dread if you don’t want that, just pointing out the reactions people get) when people stop combing their hair and let it just be free they get constant compliments, but then as soon as its clear they are letting it dread some people who are judgmental instantly flip from praising how beautiful your hair is to claiming its nasty…its not because it looks any different, from 1 day to the next, it’s just that they have that negative opinion on dreadlocks,  so the exact same hair  they thought was awesome a day before suddenly isn’t so awesome anymore haha..the point is that the complete lack of styling, just letting it be as it wants to be (maybe finger combing only just to keep it from dreading) will be very much admired, and will give you a great confidence boostafter all, isn’t that why you want to “improve your looks” theres nothing wrong with your looks, only  your confidence in how you lookoften this is more related to the people you surround yourself with, then anything to do with you yourself.

How does a hair dryer help to style hair?

To help me explain, let me show you what a straight hair looks like when it has no damage:Here all the cuticles are flat it makes the hair looker smoother and more reflective. When hair is curly, there are bends in the hair, which means that the cuticle isn't lying completely flat:When hair is damaged, the cuticle doesn't lie flat, it is usually because too much heat or chemical processes have been applied to it and the cuticles are all rough. When you apply heat to your hair it becomes more flexible and you can temporarily effect the cuticles. Blowing drying hair straight: This is done by blowing hot air down the length of the cuticle, with the grain. This makes your hair shiny and smoothBlowing drying hair so it is full with volume at the roots: This is done by blowing your hair upside down or against the cuticles. This roughens the hair up, but also gives volume at the roots, where the the cuticle tends to be much smoother (because it is newer and hasn't had the chance to get damaged).Blowing drying hair with a wave: This is done by applying a lot of pressure to your hair with a brush, and blowing in a very smooth bend. The success of this depends how ruffled your cuticles are too start with as it is easier to 'bend them into shape' when they are rougher. So you might get a good wave in hair that is damaged, coarse or already has a wave, that hair that is healthy and sleek. It is also hard to yourself and best done with direct heat (tongs or straighteners) as it lasts longer.

What are some hair styling tips for Asian men?

I'm an Asian guy, and I totally know what you mean about the hair sticking up-- apparently our hair is stronger and thicker and resists flattening down smoothly like white people hair! But that's not to worry; if you grow out the hair on the sides of your head to 3-4 inches, you can use a bit of pomade to keep it down while playing with interesting looks for the rest of your 'do! You can keep some bangs 4-5 inches long in the front of your face. This is versatile because you sweep them to the side, sweep them back (upward), or let them dangle over your forehead. In addition, you can cut the hair on the top of your head to 2-4 inches and play with some pomade/gel. This can contrast the conservative-looking side part of your bangs, for example, with a messy, just-out-of-bed look for the rest of your hair, an interesting juxtaposition that she is sure to notice. To do this, first wet your hair slightly (a shower and slightly drying it with a towel works great, or a spray bottle filled with water), and get some pomade or gel (Crew or the Japanese Gatsby Moving Rubber, for example). Put it on your fingers. Mess up your hair so it sticks up, possibly mostly waving in one direction, and rises maybe 1-2 inches from your head.To keep the hair on the sides of your head from sticking up, first wet your hair slightly. Get some pomade (American Crew seems popular, find a hold that works for you) and smoosh a small bit among your palms this time. Run them down the hair on the sides of your head, and finish by using a blow dryer at a 45 degree angle facing down and outward, held a few inches above your head for each side. The blow dryer will dry your wet, pomade-d hair in a downward direction and keep the hold for the rest of the day, helping your pomade keep loose hairs from springing up. The key is to smooth down the sides AFTER you do the top of your head, or else you'll mess up your perfectly-messed-up look! Remember to wash the remaining gunk off your hands!
