Drama Club Auditions?? Help?

I agree, a vocal coach will be a big help in preparing you for auditions! If you don't want a voice teacher, find a friend who plays the piano and practice singing with them...or go to a talented adult singer you know, and ask them to work with you! Also, you could try going to a musical theater summer camp, such as US Performing Arts. There, you will get practice with singing in front of others and you will take classes. (www.usperformingarts.com)

Also, another thing that will be of use is to audition as much as possible! I know it sounds terrifying, but the more practice you have with auditioning, the easier the process becomes! Try and find out about community theaters in your area, see if they are holding auditions, and sign up for a spot!

You could also rehearse your audition in front of others who aren't your friends, so you will have that extra practice singing in front of them beforehand!

Try to look at the audition as a chance to have fun! =)
No matter what happens, you will have done something great already by auditioning for the musical!!

Drama Club Audition!!!?

These things depend on the show you're doing and who you as an actor are. If you're doing more contemporary shows, find a monologue from a show like "In the Heights", "Wicked", "Grease" or something similar. If you're doing older or more classical shows try finding something from a Shakespeare play, or a musical like "Brigadoon", "Oliver!", "Oklahoma!" or something similar to that. Also, if you're a better comedic actor, try something from "Into the Woods", "Wicked", or something with a prominent comedic theme or character. For a song, show off your voice. If you're an amazing alto/belter, try something written for Elphaba in "Wicked" or something from "Rent", "13" or "Thoroughly Modern Millie". If you have a softer soprano voice, try Fiona's songs from "Brigadoon", "Nothing is too Wonderful to be True" from "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels", or "I Have Danced" from "Titanic" (the musical). Show off your talents and strengths, and you will be amazing!!!

Musical Theater/ Drama auditions. D: PLEASE HELP!?

What is your range? Soprano(high), Mezzo(middle) or Alto(low), without knowing I can't suggest anything.
I can, however direct you to this site:
http://www.musicaltheatreaudition.com/
I use it anytime I'm needing a new piece.

For monologues, I would try going to your public library and searching Audition Monologues.
If you what something from the internet, here's two of my favourite sites:

I need a musical theatre audition song for drama school!?

Hi

If you want something quite challenging and underdone, you could try Kesa from See What I Wanna See. It gives you a good chance to show off your range. Little Women is another show with some big numbers. Also, have a look at anything by Scott Alan - I'm a Star, Home or Never Never Land are good ones.

I need to pick out a monologue for a drama audition. but I'm not sure which to choose!!?

First, but you can tell me after you read this. I want to know for whom you are auditioning. There are so many scams out there and I want to keep you from being swindled.

Now the best monologue for you would be a character who is very much like you , age and physical type. some role you would get cast in IT is difficult to find these, which is why I offer free mentoring to aspiring actors. Read my profile and contact me at my aol address, and let's start with whom you are auditioning.

What should I sing for drama club auditions?

I'm auditioning for my school's drama club and I need a really easy song to sing. Something easy to learn and nothing from Wicked they told us not to. It has to be from am musical. Also, my vocal range is VERY limited. I sang You Can't Stop the Beat from Hairspray last year so I can't sing that again. I really don't know very many musical songs and I can't really learn lyrics that fast unless they are really catchy. My voice is slightly nasally when I sing. I'm a 13 year old girl and my audition is in 2 weeks. I sound really good singing Lean on Me by Bill Withers so if you can think of anything similar to that, that would be good.

Please help! thanks!

By rookie, I assume that you'll be doing a performance first time and you have no experience in drama whatsoever. Here are the things I would do if I were you :-Select a role/character which fits your personality and is at least 90% similar to you.Understand the scene and situation you like about that character in the film.Memorize the dialogue and also think what would you say/speak instead of him/her.Rehearse in front of a mirror or record it. See how it goes and judge yourself. These were things that you could do for dramatics. However, if you're performing for the first time, it's normal to be nervous. Here are a few tips to follow to be confident:-Before performing, do a power pose. Your body language shapes who you areWhile performing, look at people 's head instead of eyes. You won't be distracted. Additionally, look at everyone but don't look at one particular person for more than 5 seconds, it may distract you.If you forget things, continue with what you remember. Do keep in mind that the script is only known by you, no one else knows it orremembers it. If you skip a part confidently and continue without any hesitation or expression of forgetfulness, no-one would probably notice. If people applaud or laugh in the middle, let the laughter or applause complete, no-one wants to miss the things you say.More than the act, the confidence is what would carry it forward. Focus on becoming confident instead of mugging up or by hearting the act.I hope these help you. Feel free to contact me in case of further queries. Thanks and keep smiling :)

There are 2 types of audition. One is a face to face audition while the other is a online audition by email.Live audition (Face to Face audition)Learn basic hangul language such as basic greetings.Learn their customs and etiquettes.Do not sing a popular Korean song unless you can pronounce it well enough for them to understand.Do NOT SING A SONG WHICH IS SUNG BY ONE OF THEIR OWN ARTISTS in their company unless you can sing it like the artists themselves or better. (Remember that they know their own songs inside and out and that they are tired of hearing it everywhere they go as most popular new release K-pop songs are constantly played in the bus, cafes and almost everywhere in Korea)Prepare a dance. Just in case they ask for you to dance as almost all k-pop groups and solo artists dance in almost all of their concerts and Music video’s.Dress simple. Do not try to wear a crazy or too much acessories outfit.Smile at the judges. Everyone loves it when someone smiles warmly at them especially when the judges have evaluated thousands of young people auditions, that must be really tiring.Show your personality. Don’t try to hide it or try to act cool like everyone else in the room, just be YOURSELF, if you’re shy be shy and sing warmly in your song, if you’re cheerful, tell a joke and try to make the tired judges laugh)Be respectful.Online AuditionSing at least 2 to 3 songs, one song could be a Korean song while the other two could be english songs or your own song.Video quality should be good.Say your greetings in Korea language as that would be glad that you took the effort in learning basic Korean. (FACT: All Koreans have pride in their language so if they see or heard someone speaking in Korean or trying to learn hangul they would be proud and happy as hangul is named as one of the most prominent scientific language ever invented. Hangul was invented by King Sejong)
