Teen looking for audition song that will show off voice.?

I'd reccomend trying something age-appropriate. Don't look for anything sung by a character over the age of 25.

You can always try a new song. There is a young composer named Joe Iconis who has a few songs that are very cute, age appropriate, and offer a lot of range.

I know a student who was able to email him for the sheet music to his song "Blue Hair"

Female Broadway Musical Songs Help!!!!!!! Please!!!!!!!!!?

Maybe something that can emphasize acting and dancing over singing (I hope you can at least come close to carrying at tune).

Since I don't know what range you might need, I'll at least list things that fit your other criteria (though I'm going to let you worry about the 8 count/32 beat thing)

Here are some songs to consider:
"I'm a Brass Band" from "Sweet Charity"
The clip is from the movie version because Shirley Maclaine doesn't NOT have the best singing voice, but she is a fantastic dancer and actor! Thought this might inspire you.

"Hey Look Me Over" from "Wildcat" (Lucille Ball-also not a great vocalist, but she makes it work)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Y1UEMU1g...

"Ya Got Trouble" from "The Music Man" (originally a man's song, but it's almost like rapping, and you can always sing it in whatever key you need it--or try just try it an octave up)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LI_Oe-jtg...

Other songs you might consider (I'll let you look these up if there are any you aren't familiar with)
"My Own Little Corner" from Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Cinderella" (in case you want to show a more sensitive, wistful side)--requires a bit more singing ability but again, if you really think about your general performance.
Also from "Cinderella"--"The Stepsisters' Lament" (originally a duet but can be done as a solo)
"Little Lamb" from "Gypsy" (easy song, not much range needed--barely over one octave)
From "Peter Pan"--how about "I Gotta Crow" or "I Won't Grow Up"
"I Love a Piano" from "Stop, Look, and Listen"
"Shy" from "Once Upon a Mattress"

"Just You Wait" from "My Fair Lady" (if you can do a Cockney accent)

All of these songs should have sheet music available at any number of sources. You will need to get a copy of the music so you can decide where and if you need to make any cuts to fit your time limit.

What is a good song for a 15 year old girl to sing for a musical theatre audition?

By second soprano I assume you mean mezzo-soprano? Oh and the correct term is not “alto” - it's contralto, they are not interchangeable. Here's a few suggestions.

No Good Deed - Wicked (for a second soprano/mezzo-soprano)
On My Own - Les Miserables (mezzo-soprano)
I Dreamed a Dream - Les Miserables (mezzo-soprano)
All That Jazz - Chicago (mezzo-soprano)
Adelaide's Lament - Guys and Dolls (for a contralto)
If They Could See Me Now - Sweet Charity (contralto)
Special - Avenue Q (contralto)
Small World, Small People - Gypsy (contralto)

Any Ideas? Musical Theater Audition Songs...?

I need a couple new audition songs .
I am a soprano, do not belt (yet!). I am blonde and blue eyed. I usually play the princess type character. Character acting isnt my strong point but Im not bad either..Just not exceptional. I am 15. I would like age appropriate songs. I am willing to do duets that can be turned to solos liek Defying Gravity. I also do not want the song to be overdone like I Enjoy Being a Girl and Popular.
Any Ideas?

I need an audition song (I'm a 15 year old girl) for my school's musical, any suggestions?

i have the same issue as you, i like acting and singing but im not a natural born singer, so for my audition i sang "rolling in the deep" by adele and i sang it purely chest voice, which is not good, but now i have taken up singing lessons and am improving, so here are some songs that i think could work for you, personally i have trouble singing in the middle range, but its easy for me to sing in the high vocal range, but i guess our voices are somewhat reversed.
Popular- Wicked ( i reccomend looking up christen chenoweth singing this on youtube)
My Philosophy- youre a good man charlie brown
Mixed tape- Avenue Q
Memory- Cats
Anything from Annie(Tomorrow, Maybe)
Not for the Life of Me- Thoroughly Modern Millie (also from this one: forget about the boy, Gimme Gimme)
ok thats all i got for you, but i chose these cuz they allow you to really show off your acting skills while you sing and songs like Popular and Mixed Tape you can almost sing-talk them
Good Luck!
