How long did it take you to figure out your career passion?
Sorry if this disappoints or disturbs or even shocks / scares you. I’m almost 75 and have been an Emeritus Professor (retired faculty) for nine years and I do not believe my CAREER PASSION is figured out yet!!! Of course, when I retired, my passion evolved. When we moved to another state, my passion evolved. And as is true for EVERYONE, there are always unforeseen changes in the world (especially these days …) and unexpected opportunities that arise for each of us. To limit our options by accepting that we’ve ‘figured out’ our career passion is, IMO, totally insane / stupid.I have answered Quora questions for about a year or so. Many of those answers have related to what I believe is our always evolving passion. Figuring things out on your own is not necessarily about not asking for help. It is about taking responsibility for the information gathering, the decision making, the required learning and then putting all that into action. Learn from other people's knowledge and mistakes. And you can't find out about those...without asking.

Never ever discount yourself and call yourself in such terms as you used in your last word. You are a romantic at heart and how many men are like that for a woman ( who ny nature is a romantic at heart) can feel happy about? After all, what is life anyway? A serious, walk-on-high-wire stuff? No. It is fun and laughter. So, be happy for what you are. As you said within a month you rushed in and proposed and so she is needing some time to know about you and your real intentions. So, be patient. It is good you two keep communicating and are working in nearby offices. Soon, she will come to accept your proposal because 27 is high time for a woman to settle down. So, just keep your best foot forward and best face up and wait for a maximum of 6 months. If nothing happens by then, it maybe that she is not that into you and it will be better if you move on. But, that I don't think may happen. So, be positive. Be happy.
