I Need Help To Identify This Symbol

Help identifying a symbol?

Danae R is correct, it is simply a Rune.

It is the Rune Letter "A".
Known as the Younger Futhark, named after the Æsir, a God, and called in the Proto-Germanic / Anglo Saxon language *Ansuz".

Carrying around this rune in your pocket way back when was like one of us today wearing a cross or Star of David necklass.

I have this odd symbol I need help to identify?

I seen this symbol a long time ago, I forgot where, I did not know what it meant, but I liked it and I copied it. Ever since I've been trying to find out what it means, where it came from, it's origins, anything. Take a look:

I need help to identify the symbols on a pendant I found.?

I have been trying to find these symbols every where but so far no luck. They are definately NOT the symbols for male & female. I have found some symbols that have elements of the two on your pendant but not exactly right. I will keep trying and post back here if I find anything. It might help if I knew where the house you are refurbishing is (just a general location) to narrow down the cultures that lived in that area.

Edit: Actually now that I look at them again I am wondering if the two symbols are meant to be representations of brooms, which would make sense if its meant to be a witch on the other side. I know they don't look like the brooms we use nowadays but think along the lines of the broom that the wicked witch had in the wizard of oz.

Need help identifying a symbol at the bottom of a vase.?

I'm sorry I don't recognize it. I'm not sure you'll ever get a clear answer. Potters usually put their signature or stamp on the bottom of every single piece they make, this include professionals, hobbyist, even students & from all over the world. so tracking down one symbol is going to be very difficult. Hopefully you'll get lucky & someone will spot it.

You can also check with the area or person you got it from, trace as many steps back as you can & then get some information that way, even checking with potter's & art galleries (where pottery is often sold) in the area that you received the vase, & maybe they'll recognize the symbol.

Sorry, hope you find it!

How To Identify Symbolism In Poetry...

Symbolism means something that stands for something, that can be interpreted as meaning something like justice, anger, betrayal

Look for a recurring image. For example:

Mark but this flea, and mark in this,
How little that which thou deny'st me is;
It sucked me first, and now sucks thee,
And in this flea our two bloods mingled be;
Thou know'st that this cannot be said
A sin, nor shame, nor loss of maidenhead;
Yet this enjoys before it woo,
And pampered swells with one blood made of two,
And this, alas, is more than we would do.

Here the poet is comparing his relationship with a flea sucking blood Underline all the flea related words. Then you notice some are to do with romance- underline all these (woo, maidenhead (i.e. virginity).

The flea is sucking blood from one person and sucking blood from another, creating a mixture of two people's blood. This is erotic- basically the guy is saying 'lucky flea, it gets to suck blood without having to flirt. and i have to really persuade you to sleep with me'
