you want to isolate the b, so first factor out the two and divide A/2 = ab + ac + bc now subtract the ac from both sides. A/2 - ac = (ab + bc) now factor out the b on the right hand side A/2 - ac = b(a + c) now divide both sides by (a + c) ((A/2) - ac)/(a + c) = b

Many years ago on the island of Banio, the people considered 2 hammers worth 3 knives and a needle. They would trade 25 pineapples for 3 hammers, 2 needles, and 1 knife. 3 needles were worth 2 hammers and one knife. It is FREE, they provide both the information and practice problems, and it is very extensive. They may not have your specific problem, but they will certainly cover most any topic up through early college math. I have millions of points on there because I love going back over simple concepts and gaining “mastery” in them which can be a useful skill when computing things mentally and quickly. Highly recommend it.Wolfram AlphaDepending on how you use it, Wolfram can be a useful learning tool. There is a “show steps” option for almost all computations, so if you have it simplify an equation, it can show you how it did so. Sometimes this requires a premium account, but currently the Windows 10 app can do this without a subscription fee (pretty sure this is a mistake on their part. Don’t tell them), so I use this all the time to see how to do specific problems that are bit more complicated than Khan Academy covers. Wolfram can be abused to get answers on homework, so use with caution. It can easily suck you into a hole of not doing your work and not learning the topics for the test.Those are my top picks. I always say start at Khan because there is so much there. It also goes well beyond just math so if you have trouble in other subjects, it probably has information on there for you.

Why do I need to remove the parenthesis in a math equation?
Parenthesis are used insofar as they are needed. If your equation is a(bc), then the parenthesis are unnecessary because multiplication is associative. Unnecessary parenthesis make your equations unnecessarily messy.
