I need help writing an essay!?
In my opinion, the quote would be best illustrated with an example of someone who had great talent but only tried to accomplish something ordinary, and having attained it, didn't pursue further goals. The problem with finding a specific example of this is that the quote claims that this is what most people do. They set their sights low, and having attained those ordinary goals, they merely live out the rest of their lives in obscurity. The people who are famous, and for whom you can find stories to illustrate their greatness, they all set their marks high. Some of them fell short and some didn't. But an example of a great inventor would not illustrate what the quote meant to say. Most people set low standards out of fear of failure. As a result, it's hard to find a concrete example of such a person that you can use in your essay. The only somewhat helpful example I can think of is that of Portugal and Spain at the time of Columbus and his voyages. Portugal was in a far superior economic position and they turned him down. They felt that the route they had in place to India by going around africa was good enough and they felt that his westward plan was a miscalculation. In a sense you could say that they aimed low, and they achieved their mark. Spain on the other hand, decided to give him a shot and let him try his best. They needed to find a different route from Portugal because they were in a crummy financial position. So they sent him with hopes for the best. They aimed high, so to speak, and fell short because Columbus didn't make it to India. He did however discover the Americas and helped Spain become a naval superpower that dwarfed Portugal. You can find more details of this on wikipedia if you want to expand on the example. This is a tough assignment. The quote is one that most people would read and nod their agreement to. They may comment about how well it's stated. They may even see something in their own lives that reflects it. But they would have plenty of trouble coming up with an example from the world outside. If you are late it is called being called out of ranks, if you are late alot you can get in big trouble, they can move you to the barracks where they can keep a good idea on what you are doing.. If you are late alot also they can make it where you dont go off post, they can give you and article 15 with loss of rank and pay too.. They are basically like your mom and dad when you are not home by curfew.. her is one thing I seen one, my husband had a soldier that was late alot, and the first Sgt.. made him wear a sign around his neck for 5 days saying " Ask me what time I have to be at work" good luck

The thing about personal essays is that they are PERSONAL, and while we can sort of guide you through the words, ultimately if you cannot piece together your own legitimate reasons for being in pharmacy school (or med school or law school), then you really should pursue a path that truly inspires your passion. I can't tell you how to answer your essay, but I can tell you hoe NOT to answer your essay. If your motivations towards pharm (med or law) are the following, GTFO of the professions and find something else (suggested alternatives in parentheses). 1. You are doing this to please your parents and make them proud. (Marry upward on the social ladder) 2. You are doing this for the money. (Go into finance) 3. You want to "help" people, but can't articulate the word "help" into specifics. (Go get a teaching credential, or join the Peace Corps) 4. You like science. (Get a PhD in the science of your choice) 5. You want to work in retail pharmacy. (Be a pharm tech) Here is what I'd recommend. Go meditate on your real drive for going into pharmacy. Literally. Go find yourself a tree, sit under it with your eyes shut and think about what you what to do with your life, whether you see yourself as a pharmacist, and think about all the things you will need in your life to be happy. Is pharmacy one of them? Why? When you answer those questions, you will have the groundwork for your personal essay.
