I Need Help With My Parents Help

I need help with telling my parents that I bedwet?

It mite be embarrassing for you but they're your parents its not such a bad thing, the best is to tell them maybe you need to see a doctor or there might be another solution you're overlooking, either way they'll help you through. Just take a deep breathe and build up some confidence, you'll be fine, good luck!

Parents help moving into dorm???????

Haha who cares. Honestly what is the worst case scenario that youre picturing? You walk in the dorm while your parents have some bags, and everyone around you drops everything that theyre doing and stares at you in dead silence?

Everyone moves in with their parents. My sister is 25 and my dad is helping her move in. Youre too old to be embarrassed by your mom and dad at this point.

Plus...I had to move OUT of my dorm alone last year, and it was like pure hell. You need all the hands you can get.

How can I tell my parents that I need help with my depression?

Well, here is what I did.My parents were pretty new to depression and they thought that the feeling of sadness and wanting to kill myself will pass, but it never did. I did not know what was happening to me either with hallucinations and continual crying things got worse. I googled to see what might be wrong with me, and after all it did turn out to be severe depression.I browsed through many websites to find out what the whole “ depression” thing is all about. And here are some of the things I found useful to show my parents to justify that these feelings of sadness and wanting to kill myself weren’t going to go away.A TED-ED video - Talks about depression so that a common man can understand :My mother was closer to me than my father, so I chose to open up to her about my feelings first. I told her about how I am trying hard to feel better by going out, exercising or listening to music , and how every time I failed and felt miserable for struggling to feel better. I showed her many videos about how Depression was an actual illness and needed medication. After I managed to convince her, I let her do the talking to my father. If the above two methods are not working, then I highly recommend that you consult a psychologist yourself. The psychologist will be able to guide you better on how you can convince parents and talk to them, so that they can understand your situation better.

How do I convince my parents that I need help?

You don’t give any clues to your age, and I’d guess you may be living at home, perhaps still a student, and I’m basing my answer on that with some other options. If you are still in school, many schools have access to counselors for students, and I’d see if there’s any service that may be able to help you.I’d strongly suggest calling a hotline - there are a number of hotlines available where you can just talk, and talking can help relieve some of that building anxiety. Talking is like releasing some of the air from a blown-up balloon, it relieves pressure. So, talking to anybody can help - friends, teachers, neighbors - anyone you feel you can trust. And, I’ll list some resources below. If you are involved in any church or religious groups, see if you can talk to someone there who may be able to suggest someone to talk to, a youth counselor, pastor or maybe some groups at the church. And I’ll suggest to you something that I did for relief when the anxiety got overwhelming. Anxiety is rather free-form, it’s hard to pin it down to anything and seems hard to control, but doing something simple can help release some of that building energy - and that’s holding onto something solid - a tree, a wall, a table, something big and solid. Even just taking your shoes off and going outside to walk barefoot can help “ground” you a bit. You can also distract yourself by occupying your mind on something productive - doing small chores like straightening up, folding clothes, organizing things in a closet or drawer - and I know that sounds silly but putting things in order helps to occupy the mind and create more a sense of calm. And so does going for a walk.Grounding yourself helps relieve some of that freeform anxiety - it helps contain it. And talking does too, so I hope that this request here is a solid step to lead you to some help. I wish the best for you.TEEN LINE | Teens Helping Teens - Connect, talk, get help!Telephone, Hotlines and Help lines | Psych CentralNeed to talk to someone? How do I tell my parents that I want to seek mental help?

Hi.I completely understand your situation. Let me tell you a few things that might help you.Convincing parents that you need mental help can be tough. Hence I recommend you to sit and talk to them about how you are feeling. Tell them how you feel on a day to day basis, tell them any physical discomforts such as chest pain (the one you have mentioned) that you are facing on a day to day basis. Talking to them about your problems out with them will help them realise the struggle you are going through.Gently ask them if they have any suggestion. Listen to them patiently. If they say “cheer up” or “it’s just a phase” or even things like “oh don’t worry everything will be fine eventually”, then make sure to show them some educational videos. I usually suggest the Ted Ed video because it explains depression in common terms. You can find the link here :It is important to make them understand that depression cannot be gotten over just by trying, exactly like how you cannot get well from fever by just “trying”.Make them understand that depression is “Curable”. The person only needs medication for 6–12 months (if the person is mildly depressed) to come out of it and live a normal life.If they are unwilling to listen or understand, then I would suggest you visit a “Psychologist” by yourself and explain your family situation to him/her. Convince your parents accordingly to come along with you and talk to the psychologist to understand your situation better.Look up psychologists in your area on Google. If you are a person who resides in bangalore then I would suggest you visit Dr Vidya Satyanarayanan in St. JOHN’S Hospital. She is available every Tuesday/ Friday. Make sure to calla nd take an appointment before you visit.Hope things work in your favour! :)All the best! :)

How do I tell my parents I need help Im struggling with addiction and depressed I find it hard to talk to them because they have a lot going on and don’t want to worry them?

Seems you and your parents have a close enough relationship to know that you understand how much is going on in their life. As a parent, I will tell you this. “THERE IS NOTHING TOO BIG THAT I CANNOT DROP FOR MY CHILD.”You know they have a lot going on in their life, it’s unfair for you to know so much about their life but you’ve kept them closed out of yours. reach out to them, trust that they will be there for you.

You know cheap hair dye gives you brain tumors, right?
And you don't think your parents will notice the blue hair?
Just buy some of that temporary Halloween dye.

My parents do not want to help me pay for college?

If you don't qualify for financial aid that means your parents have enough to help you out. If they don't own a business to pass on to you or in some other way have prepared you for life above college, they owe you college help.
I think scholarships only go to very gifted people and minorities.
You will have to get loans and be an indentured servant to the banks like many.
