2. The hypothetical island country of Gilder lies in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of France. Demographers have studied Gilder for the past 50 years. At the beginning of the study, Gilder had a population of 20 million. The demographers have measured birth and death numbers, as well as immigration and emigration numbers, as shown in the data table.
From the data,
a. Calculate the population of Gilder for each 10-year period by filling in the Population (NO) and Population (Nt) columns in the data table. Use this formula to do your calculations:
Population size:
Nt = No + (B + I) – (D + E)
initial population = 20,000,000

Answer:
Year Births Deaths Immigrants Emigrant... (No) Population (Nt)
10 1,400,000 600,000 40,000 20,000 20,000,000 20,820,000
20 1,600,000 500,000 100,000 20,000 20,820,000
30 2,000,000 400,000 150,000 15,000

50 2,500,000 350,000 200,000 10,000

Work is the integral of force F over a distance dx so

W = Integral[a,b](F*dx) = integral[a,b](k*dx/x^2) = Integral[5, 50](k*dx/x^2

W = -k/x|[5,50] = -k*(1/50 - 1/5) = -k/5 (1/10 - 1) = 9k/50

Please help I really need help with this ASAP?

Discrimination in the United States has been a major issue since the colonial era and the slave era. Legally or socially sanctioned privileges and rights were given to white Americans but denied to Native Americans, African Americans, Asian Americans, and Hispanic and Latino Americans. Formal racial discrimination was largely banned in the mid-20th century, and came to be perceived as socially unacceptable and/or morally repugnant.

African-Americans faced subsequent conceptualizations and the root of that was Slavery. The origins of African enslavement had a large economic foundation and that why the Atlantic slave trade prospered.In the early part of the 19th century, a variety of organizations were established advocating the movement of black people from the United States to locations where they would enjoy greater freedom; some endorsed colonization, while others advocated emigration. During the 1820s and 1830s the American Colonization Society was the primary vehicle for proposals to return black Americans to greater freedom and equality in Africa. The practice of chattel slavery existed for the next half century and all slaves in the Confederate States of America that were not under direct control of the United States government were declared free by the Emancipation Proclamation, which was issued on January 1, 1863, by President Abraham Lincoln. After the Civil War, the 13th amendment in 1865, formally abolishing slavery, the new century saw a hardening of institutionalized racism and legal discrimination against citizens of African descent in the United States.While substantial gains were made in the succeeding decades through middle class advancement and public employment, black poverty and lack of education[continued in the context of de-industrialization. Many saw the winning of the Presidential election of Barack Obama as a step forward but we still have a long way to go.

I gave you your introduction and one group that faced discrimination now all you need is another group and the conclusion... GOOD LUCK!!

Math Help! Please? I need explanation as well!?

There is a 1/4 chance that you will win the game; that means that 1 out of 4 times, you will probably win. The other 3 times you will lose, for the simple reason that 4 - 1 = 3. So all you need to do is take the number of times you would lose and put it above the total number you would play, which in this case is 4.

So,
1/4 chance to win
3/4 chance to lose

Hope I helped :)

I want a good friend. I need someone who can help me grow. I want a friend who acts as my teacher me as well. Does such person exist?

This is so damn true.. People like to support you or motivate you only when they know that you are below them.. and is it not a fact that we only listen to people who are above us..!!(it may be in terms of money or status or anything..)In life you will meet some people who you are so attached to.. or who motivate you through hard times.. who support you during your failures.. and to tell the extreme cases you start thinking that you cannot live without them.. they may be your very own family.. your cousins.. your bestest friends.. your boyfriend/girlfriend.. it could be anyone..But the harsh truth is that.. every person has a phase in our life.. people are temporary.. and the worst of all is you never know when the phase is gonna end.. be it anyone.. every person starts his story alone and has to end it alone.. no one comes along.. no one is with you 24*7.. !So, better enjoy the phase knowing that this phase is not going to come again in life.. but do not depend on anyone for anything..The realization that no one is going to be with you forever except you yourself is important in life will create a motivation… In this life.. you have to be your own bestfriend.. your own teacher.. your own motivation..Just ask yourself one single question..“Where are you today and where you want to be in a month.. in a year.. in 10 years down the line.. in life.. and are you doing what it takes to be there!!?”write the answer to this question in your diary and whenever you feel low.. just read the answer.. im sure you will feel motivated..SO.. YES SUCH A PERSON EXISTS.. AND THAT IS YOU..!
