Baby names to go with the last name Crocker?

I'm very into names as I hated my first & middle names and changed them.

I love Cordelia and I like all of the boy names. I also like the reasons that you are thinking of those names.

If I have to choose one boy name it is Cyrus -- I like that it is an old family name, and yup, that is the correct spelling.

One syllable girl names that start with a D?

I don't mean to step on any toes so feel free to toss this advice, BUT if it were me...
I'd hate to grow up with a one syllable name that started with D!

"Mom why did you choose my name?"

"Because you were the fourth and I liked the alphabet."

"Oh."

I know it's your kid so obviously you'll name it whatever you want. A person's name helps to shape their self-identity early in life and it might benefit your daughter to have a historical name of some heroine they can immediately relate with and aspire to be. I've noticed a lot of kids are being given quite strange and unorthodox names these days perhaps with the intention to set that child apart; it may ostracize them though in school because kids can be very mean. Also it's worth taking into account what, if any, advantages your child may have with a popular name for their generation in future social interactions.

Either way because it seems you have a closer knit family, your child should be successful no matter what it's called. Best of luck, take care!

I'm a girl and my Chinese name is Linlin Liu (刘琳琳). What is a good English name for me?

The other answers assume your English name should sound similar to your Chinese name. I don't think this assumption is warranted, though that is a question of taste. I suggest you pick a name that: 1. Is not too popular. Chinese family names are relatively less distinctive than the family names of other cultures. Choosing a popular first name will mean that you could share your name with literally thousands of people. Particular in this global age, some may consider this disadvantageous.2. Sounds aesthetically pleasing with your family name. As Chinese family names generally have a single syllable, names with two or three syllables will generally work well. Names with other numbers syllables may also work. I'd avoid a name that ends with an "l" or "t", again purely of aesthetic reasons. Try saying the names together to see if they roll off smoothly - for example, I think it is somewhat awkward to say "Harriet Liu".3. Avoids cliched Western names for Chinese people, particularly for the generation preceding you. This is very much a matter of taste, but I would suggest avoiding "Lily" for this reason as every second-generation Chinese descended person in a Western country will be reminded of their mum's friend, and "Lin" because that could actually be their mum's name.4. Does not coincide with that of a celebrity. For example, I would not go for "Bernice Liu", who is a Hong Kong singer, or "Lucy Liu", who is an actress. In practical terms, have a look at the names ranked starting from around 100 onwards on this list: British Baby Names - Combined Spellings 2014 - Girls . You will note that this is a British based list. I suggest this over an American list, otherwise you might end up calling yourself "Teagan Liu", which though uncommon (I think there is literally one person in the entire world with that name), may sound weird unless you are planning on moving to Wyoming (or Ireland) (again, a question of taste).More specifically, how about "Cara Liu", "Lara Liu", "Gabriella (Gabby) Liu".

Is Ashley a good name for a boy?

I know a lot of people are going to tell you no because it’s a girl’s name. But, they’re wrong.Ashley is a unisex name. It’s originally a boy’s name, but today it is more commonly given to girls in the US. Ashley was originally a surname, there is nothing feminine about it. In the UK, Ashley is most commonly a boy’s name, usually among the top 100–300 male names given each year: Source ► Ashley (name) - Wikipedia.I personally like Ashley for a boy’s name. It makes me think of Ashley Wilkes from Gone With the Wind. Ashley is one of my favorite characters because he was so kind and mild.If you’re concerned about Ashley being picked on by silly children who think he has a “girl’s name” then you could call him ‘Ash’ for short or give a strong masculine middle name like Michael or Jason.
