I Need New Books To Read

Do you reread books you've read or do you only read new books? Why?

Of course I read new books but there is absolutely nothing like rereading a favourite book.You pick a book to read. You admire it's cover, open the book and inhale the fresh scent of the pages. Then you commence reading. You're lost in the story. At the end you close the book and look up. And you are amazed that people around you are still going about their own life, unaware of the adventure you have been on by reading the book.The story stays with you. But you go on to read different books.A year later, you pick up that same book, smile fondly at its cover and inhale its scent. As you read, you come across certain themes which you had missed previously. You judge the characters less harshly. You understand more of what the author has to say. You smile at a joke that you had missed. You relive the story with more insight than before.In that year , you have matured some what more and hence you enjoy that book even more. It's like speaking to an old friend after an interval of time. It's just the book has not changed. You have. And if you reread that book a third or even a fourth time, it will still leave you spellbound. That's the magic of books.Happy reading!
