You don't have to be from the hood or have a diamond chain to be a good rapper. In fact, if you rap about what's not true people will end up just calling you fake. Don't try to be like the rappers you like by copying their flow or subject matter. Rap about what makes you different. After all, Lupe doesn't do drugs, or sell them, and he's still one of the best out there because he raps about his own life experiences.

Well, that's why I'm not doing that! :) I just was mentioning that it's a better example than the opposed. One of my songs is called "Be Strong" -- about helping your loved one/friend to get through a bad time. Another that I wrote is called "More Than Me" -- about how I hope that my younger sister can not make the mistakes I've made and become more than me. I just need some inspiration. :)
