I need help with excel formula.

OT rate is 2x the amount of the normal rate but once 9 hours or greater are reached then 8 hours are 2x the amount the ninth and greater are 3x the amount of normal pay.

hourly rate is $10.00
8.99 hrs over time get paid 179.80 (8.99x20.00)
9 hours OT get paid 8x20.00=160 plus 1x30.00=30.00 Total: 190.00

I need a formula that will show an amount up to 8.99 and if equal to or greater then 9 to show 8 and the rest in the next cell down
if the original number is 9 like this example cell A2 should show 8 hours and cell A3 should show 1 hour
If the original number is 6 then cell A2 should show 6 hours and cell A3 should show 0 hours
is this possible?

Actual rate is not 10.00. Simply used 10.00 for a simple example. In the image it may will show different numbers. OT starts after completing the 49th hour. First 48 hours are normal rate.

I need some help about EXCEL! ?

It makes a difference when you cut and paste, fill ranges, add rows or columns, and so on. If you put the $ in a formula before the column letter B, that is saying "I really mean column B" and not just the column to the right of this formula.

A time that you would use this is if you have a number at the top of your spreadsheet (or any particular, non-moving place) that will be used throughout the table. Say you have an invoice that includes a chart with prices, and want a column that calculates price after sales tax. (The smart way would be to do a VLOOKUP table with the tax values, but I digress. Let's say for this answer that you only work on one state per invoice and don't mind putting the tax rate in when you begin each invoice.) If you will input the sales tax rate into cell C3, and have your prices keyed into in column D and want to calculate tax in column E, the column E formula for row 7 would be =D7*$c$3. You could then drag, fill, or copy that formula down the rest of the rows. When you do, the reference for the cell to find the tax rate won't change on every row, but the reference for the price will--the next row's column E formula would be D8*$c$3--using the dollar signs means it won't fill those cells with D8*c4.

I'm doing an assessment for Computer Applications. One of the projects is with Excel. I was able to finish 90% of it, but now i'm stuck on one formula. I need to figure of the formula for the total value of inventory. For example:

Cost per unit: $55.00; Amount on hand: 27; Value of Inventory: $1,485.00; Sales tax (0.06%): $89.10 Tariff: 0.08. Total Value of Inventory: ?.

In that example the answer is $3148.28, but i have NO idea how they got that result. Any help would be ridiculously helpful. I've been stuck on this for almost a week now!

I am using Microsoft Excel... I need help.?

My mother is a high school teacher. I want to help her compute grades so I do the encoding and computation to a computer with MS Excel. It does really good.

Has anybody among you know what a TRANSMUTATION TABLE is? It is a table that consist of transmuted numbers, for example, if you got your score to be 50 on a 70 item-test, then the transmutation table tells you that the transmuted grade is 85. Similar if 45 points in a 50 item test, it gives you 97.

The problem is, I want to spend less time when doing this. How can I program MS Excel 2007, say, than whenever I prompt that the total test items, say is 80 and when I enter a specific digit, it will give a transmuted grade similar to what I had described? Because it is so hard to look on the table then put it on computer then look all over again.

I hope you understand this. Sorry for wrong grammar if there is.

I need a excel formula that will allow you to enter a numerical value in one column and a letter in the a second column. The equation would make a 1 A = 1.1, 1 B = 1.2, 1 C= 1.3, 2 A = 2.1, 2 B = 2.2 and so on. Any thoughts?
