I Need Something To Do On My Laptop Help

Can someone help me with my laptop charger?

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop with a Dell charger. Last weekend the charger just cut off on me, I plugged it out and put it under the AC assuming that it was overheated it took 30 mins to come back on and start charging. On Thursday it cut on me again but this time it took 2 to 3 hours to start back working. Now it's cut again since last night now it's not even coming on now. My brother has the same charger, and I plugged out the cable that goes into the outlet and changed it with his and vice versa; and it works with his and not mines. I was wondering can someone tell me how to fix this problem? And get my charger working? Is it a shortage? Please help me. I'm sure if I leave a lil more longer it will start charging again....?????

Will upgrading RAM help to speed up my laptop?

The single most effective upgrade for the money is adding RAM. It is important to get what your board is designed to run and you should have matching so-dimm’s. If you are not sure what kind you need, head on over to Crucial.com - DRAM, solid state drive (SSD) memory upgrades for Dell, Mac, Apple, HP, Compaq, Lenovo, Acer, ASUSThey have legally obtained the identification stings that identifies your motherboard, what type of memory, how many slots, and the maximum the board can handle per manufacurers specs. On the homepage, you can find the link to download the software. It's very small and non intrusive. Been using it for years and has not failed me yet, and I have worked on thousands of machines.I had an i3 some time back and yes they are a little dated, but it all depends on what you want to do. Standard surfing and business apps will run just fine but if you are doing more intensive things like Catia, you will absolutely need to upgrade.Final note, if you upgrade the RAM, and swap out the hard drive with a solid state, you will not believe it is the same machine. I'm talking 25 second boot times from a cold start, and that is being conservative. (You can also get SSD’s from Crucial). No, I don't work for them. Just passing along what works.

Guys i need help with my laptop.SONY VAIO IT WONT BOOT>?

So you sustained an accidental power loss and now the computer cycle boots to the START UP MENU screen? I assume you have tried each option to no avail, right?

Here's what happened.

When your computer is on, Windows "mounts" the hard drive and creates a swapfile. When you shutdown, Windows closes the swapfile and dismounts the drive just before powering off the unit.

Well when power is dropped unexpectedly, Windows can not preform this action. So when you reboot, the hard drive is still in a mounted state. Windows tries to mount the drive which is already in a what? A Mounted state... Same with the Swap File.

HOW TO FIX IT

Windows usually recovers itself from this foreseable problem, but sometimes (more than you would believe) it can not. And MicroSoft has taken this into consideration. You must preform a NON Destructive OS Repair Installation.

Things you will need.

Your System Recovery CD's and/or Windows Installation CD
Drivers CD or Access to an Internet connected PC.

HOW TO DO IT

1. Insert the Windows CD into the drive and restart the PC
2. Look for a message on the screed to access the boot menu, or press TAB or ESC. OR just wait for the PRESS ANY KEY TO BOOT FROM CD... to appear.
3. After the Windows CD loads, you will be greeted with the 1st menu screen. Hit ENTER as if you were going to install a FRESH copy of Windows. (Don't worry, we won't)
4. Press F8 to agree to the EULA agreement.
5. If the option is available, press R Otherwise, stop and reboot from cd and proceed to step 8
6. The computer will do it's thing for approximately 45 minutes and will reboot a few times. After it completes and boots into your desktop, makesure all your drivers are installed by right clicking on My Computer and selecting Properties, then click the Hardware Tab and DEVICE MANAGER.
7. Test your machine.... END FIX
8. Select R for Recovery console
9. Select your windows installation (Usually #1)
10. If there is an Administrator Password, provided it now.
11. At the C:\WINDOWS or C:\WINNT\ prompt type the following.
12. FIXBOOT
13. Y for YES
14. FIXBOOT
15. Y for YES
16. CHKDSK /R
17. The above test wll take atleast an hour and will appear to FREEZE, trust me, it's not.
18 Upon completion, try rebooting normally.

If this does not work, let me know

HELP!!!!! Someone is hacking my laptop?

Go to the link below and get AxCrypt and encrypt your files. Also make sure you back them up on a flash drive or something. Restart your computer and press f8 as it boots, select safe mode, when you get to the log in screen log in with Administrator. This is the built in Admin account by default is has no password so if this is how she is getting on your computer setting a password here will stop her. You can adjust user settings from Start > Control Panel > User Accounts.

Once you download AxCrypt just right-click the file you want to encrypt and select AxCrypt > Encrypt and put a password you will remember. If you are using Vista then email me and I will tell you how to do it.

Setting up a wireless laptop connection HELP?

Are you sure your router is a wireless router?

It sounds like you are using a wired router and think that plugging a wireless adapter in to your pc will create a wireless network.

You need a wireless router. A new laptop would find any wireless networks the first time you turn it on.

I'm in need of a laptop for programming. I have no financial resources to buy it. Can anyone help me by giving me their used laptop?

I don't think this is the right place to ask such a question. You won't be helped much here. I would have given you my laptop but I use it 24 X 7 so I can't.Look for websites like Home or Schneller finden, was in Deiner Nähe ist.. You will see ads there. Talk to the owners and they might help you this if you find someone too generous there. Or, you can visit to some place where old stuff are being sold at very cheap rates. Hopefully, in the electronics section you can find some laptops at very cheap prices. But personally if you want a laptop for programming. You should go for such kind of laptops. It won't help.

My laptop is taking too much time to start I have a windows 10, what is the problem please help?

There are two ways to go about this: Kill apps from starting automatically when booting into windows. You can do so by going to Task manager (ctlr + alt + delete) and then clicking on the start up tab. It looks something like this: Note that I have disabled all applications from starting up automatically, except two: GlassWire and f.lux, which I absolutely need. The second option is to enable quick boot up. Windows enables this by default. However, check if you had disabled it sometime. For this, you can open windows explorer and type in "Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\System Settings" or, search for "Power Options" on the start menu, and click "Require a password on wakeup" from the sidebar. It looks like this: Fast startup (aka: hiberboot, hybrid boot, or hybrid shutdown) is turned on by default in Windows and is a setting that helps your PC start up faster aftershutdown. Even faster than hibernate. Windows does this by saving an image of the Windows kernel and loaded drivers to the hiberfile (C:\hiberfil.sys) upon shutdown so when you start your PC again, Windows simply loads the hiberfile (C:\hiberfil.sys) into memory to resume your PC instead of restarting it. What's causing my laptop freezing on boot-up (Diagnostic Help)?

Updates to reflect current answers...

1) I do not believe that it's a corrupted OS -- mostly because the problem occurs BEFORE the OS can even boot up. Even when I try to use my OS install disc to run chkdsk from the recover console, the issue still occurs.

2) I HIGHLY DOUBT there's any issues with the registry -- I keep fair tabs on that with utilities to curb problems (including some annoying ones). I also back it up.

3) IT'S NOT A VIRUS NOR MALWARE -- I keep tabs on that as well (probably on a paranoid level).

4) Overheating has been noted as a possible theory, but I need MORE INFORMATION (a plausible reason) for this!

Thanks for those who have provided answers so far. Please refine them to reflect this new information, when possible.
