Most Christians actually do know it's the love of money, only those who are unlearned or posers accept incorrect quotations.
What is the point in Christianity?
The point of the Christian Faith, is to glorify God in one's salvation or damnation. In salvation God is glorified by demonstrating His love, grace, and mercy. In damnation God is glorified by demonstrating His justice, righteousness, and Holiness. The Chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. The gospel of Christ Jesus is central to Christianity. Salvation is of God, by God. We as sinners deserve death and hell. God the Father, being rich in mercy, sent Christ the Son, to justify the elect whom He predestined before the creation of the world/universe/κόσμος. We owe a debt to God for breaking His laws. He is the righteous and just judge. He cannot turn a blind eye to our wickedness and must punish law breakers. Christ entered into the creation in His incarnation. He lived a perfect and sinless life that we could not live. He was crucified where God poured out His wrath on Him. He bore our punishment, thus satisfying the justice of God. Because of what He did, we can be seen as guiltless and righteous if we repent of our sins, and place our faith solely in Christ's work on the cross, and not our own. ��Sola scriptura ("by Scripture alone")•Sola fide ("by faith alone")•Sola gratia ("by grace alone")•Solus Christus or Solo Christo ("Christ alone" or "through Christ alone")•Soli Deo gloria ("glory to God alone")
Does Christianity forbid the practice of masturbation?
I am in possession of a strong relationship with Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, but I am troubled by masturbation. I wish for the opinions of others. If it helps, I do not belong to a particular demonination. - I have asked multiple people, whom have all confirmed that animals were created to glorify God, and thus, cannot sin. Animals masturbate. - The things that God does not want us to do possess negative side effects. Masturbation does not. Masturbation possesses, however, multiple positive side effects - significant decrease in stress, and clearer skin, to name a few. - Many quote the Bible story in which God kills the man for not impregnating his brother's wife, however, again, I believe that he was not killed because he masturabted, but because he did not follow God' s direct command. - When I do not masturbate, I find myself consumed by more sin than when I do. - Lust. The Bible says not to lust. I can masturbate without lusting. This is not a factor.
Jehovahs Witness History?
The JW are visting me and they love their knowledge but have no testimony and no conversion story. I want to know what the history of the church is, as far as I know a guy started up a bible class and it got popular and so he made it into a religion and they use knowledge to try and `prove` their religion and why other religions are wrong. The witness who is visiting me said that `more than testimony, knowledge is more important, but dont the scriptures tell us the opposite? Sure knowledge is great and helps but we need to know from the bottom of our hearts that the religion is true. Anyway can any Witness please tell me what the religion teaches of its own history and the importance of sharing/having a personal testimony. Thanks.
