I Need The Old Software And How Do I Get It

What should I do with old books? I have books about old software technologies and many other subjects which I don't study now or I have more modern and goods books about them.

Try this idea for size:—(via Quora image search)Convert the old books into furniture or interior decoration pieces. For instance, glue the books together, hack out the innards, and remake the thing to a trunk or a lamp base with a varnished exterior. If you have enough books, you could even stack and fit them together permanently into an armchair. You’ll need to be a bit creative and some elbow grease.

I'm a 32-year-old male software engineer. Why am I a mess?

What is wrong? Your opinion about yourself. You were bullied in childhood? If you're working, smart and multi-talented, trust me, those bullies of yours are *surely* not at the same point in their life as you are in yours. Just think that you made it through and that you got, by yourself, much farther than anyone could think of you.Being lonely is okay sometimes, being alone is nice to refill those "social batteries" that Aspies like you and I have. Being with people too much exhaust me. I guess it's the same with you.About hygiene, do something about it! A shower a day is not that hard. No excuses there. You have symptoms of ADHD. Then use them at your advantage! I too have it and I excel at heavy multitasking. As for your opinions; they are unpopular, okay and so what? What does it change? Your opinions are yours and yours only. If people disagree, at best it triggers an exciting debate, at worst they hate you for your opinions, and in this case, just discard those people. They're not worth your time and attention.tl;dr Shower, work out once a week for a start, that will give you some confidence necessary to feel better about yourself.

Why is pirating old software illegal?

Before any one gets up in arms, I'm not advocating it. Let me explain myself first. A few nights ago, some friends came over for an evening of drinks and Rock Band. Half way through the night, one of my friends stated that he just got Half-Life for his Dreamcast and spent most of the night before playing it. Curious, I asked him how it could be possible since Half-Life was never even released for the DC. He explained that he was pointed to a site by another friend that allows him to download and burn games from mulitple systems, including the DC. This sparked a pretty lively debate that all but ended the Rock Band session. Problem is, with vodka clouding my mind, the best arguement on why it was wrong for him to do that was because it's illegal. His defense was that the system is dead. The games aren't being sold any more. You can't even buy them from GameStop/EBGames. Only place you can find them for sale is online, and most of the time, used. So my question is this:

How can I download the old version of the Zune software?

O.k. So, I havent used my Zune in almost a year && my computer must have erased the old Zune software off of my computer. I tried to download the new version but it wouldn't let me. I don't know what is wrong with the new version, but its pissing me off!

Excuse the language!!

I am a 30 year old software engineer. I have plenty of experience in my field. I want to start a company. What steps do I need to take now?

When you are serious about starting a company, here are some steps (some which I wish I would have followed when I was starting out) that hopefully should point you in the right direction:Define the rules of the game (how much time and money you are willing to risk/invest, why you are doing this, when to walk away, etc.).Find a partner - meetups, linkedin, neighbor, doesn’t matter how, find a co-founder, hopefully that complete’s your shortcomingsRead, explore and learn as much as you can about the area you plan to operate in (what exists, why it sucks, how can you kick its ass). If no similar solution is out there, that’s a somewhat troubling sign, try to see why. I see a lot of entrepreneurs spend tons of energy and time on creating stuff instead of understanding their market, its pains and the existing technologies and ecosystems. I also think the book The Hard Thing About Hard Things is mandatory reading for entrepreneurs.Get stuff out there, in the hands of users, as soon as you can. Don’t wait for it to be perfect, good or even adequate. You’d be amazed what early adopters are willing to put up with if a need really exists.Start selling as soon as possible. Even if you plan to raise capital, its the best proof of value you can get. Also, users that pay, also take the time to actually use your solution and will provide critical feedback.Hope this helps, good luck!

How can I copy pre-installed software from my old computer to a CD so I can install it to my new computer?

This won't work (usually) because when a program (application) is installed, there are dozens, perhaps hundreds of files that get placed into various system (Windows) folders throughout the OS, so that when you run the app., Windows can retrieve the correct file to perform an aspect to that application (for instance, to display a certain font, or icon, or whatever).
applications normally have 'installers' or 'executable' file that places their files into the correct Windows file(s), to ensure proper function.
Manually performing this task would be Herculean in scope, and require a comprehensive understanding of windows and the application; something most people don't come close to.
Best method is to get the installer form the vendor, plus, Vista has entirely different layout than XP, and wouldn't likely work anyway.
Note however, that any data files created with the application may be usable & transfer using ordinary media. For instance 'Saved games' , or similar data type files.

How can an 45 year old software developer to get new job offers?

I don’t know a single Recruiter who isn’t aching to present a well-qualified candidate to their hiring manager, regardless of age.If you want to work for a specific company, I encourage you to:Become incredibly familiar with exactly the skills they need/want. Look at their current Engineers’ LinkedIn profiles, GitHub accounts, etc. Do you have the same skill set that they do?Read up about the company on Glassdoor, or any site where can get further information. Talk to people who have interviewed there. Shoot an email to Engineers that work there, ask them if they’d mind meeting you for coffee to chat about what the work is like. These conversations can lead to having an advocate for your candidacy.Ramp up on any specific technology needed for the job. Some companies don’t care what languages you’re proficient in, as long as you can ramp up on their tech stack. Other companies need/want you to come in the door massively proficient with their technology stack. If you’re applying to the latter form of company, and you don’t have experience with their tech stack, that’s going to be very tough to get hired.I have personally extended job offers to candidates well above 45. Keep your nose to the grindstone, keep honing your skills, and the jobs will come.
