I have a summer project for my honors english class and i really need help! I read the Old Man And The Sea and i have to write down 10 sentences that use figurative language, i found some sentences but i don't know what type of figurative language is used or even if it uses figurative language, so if you know please help me!: 1. "He was so big it was like lashing a much bigger skiff alongside" 2 "The old man looked at him with his sun - burned,confident loving eyes" 3. "During the night two porpoises came around the boat and he could hear them rolling and blowing" 4. "Then the fish came alive, with his death in him and rose high out of the water showing all his great length and width and all his power and his beauty" 5. Are there any suggestions to overcome feeling overwhelmed with schoolwork? I came back from summer break recently and I feel extremely overwhelmed, and completing work is more difficult than it was for me last year. I almost feel like I got dumber.
No, you didn’t get dumber. You need to organize your jobs and your time. Once you do this, you will have figured out a way to get most of what you want to do finished. The key to anything successful is ORGANIZATION.Also, do the following. Take good notes in class and take only about 15 minutes to read them after class to remember them better for the future. (This does not mean that you will not use them again.)Find a good study spot at home that will not interfere with your studying.Limit your time on your cell phone and computer.Always be open to asking your teacher a question when you need help.Take a break in your studying to clarify your mind for further studying.Leave at least one afternoon after school for having fun with friends and/or family.While studying at home, also take notes on what you believe is important or want to question your teacher.Leave at least one day free during the weekend to spend with family and friends. However, during exam times you may want to use these days for study.Good luck! I know you will succeed in reaching your goal. Why? Because you are so upset.
Summer Reading Homework HELP!!!!???
Okay I had this summer reading project. I have to read 4 books.(Death Be Not Proud, The Old Man And The Sea,The Pearl, and To Kill A Mockingbird) On EACH book (after I read it) I have to do 25 journal entrees (thats on EACH book) and on each book I have to do a essay paper. im such a procrastinator and it is due in a week!!!! If I dont finish this I wont get into my honors classes. I make all As i just wait till last minute!! okay thats my project. Heres what I have done: Read 1 book and did its 25 entrees (no essay tho), ReadHalf of one book and 13 of its entrees (outa 25), and a Half of another book with nothing else. So im screwed!!!! So I have alot leftto do. Please help me make up a daily schedule on what I have to do each day before school (august 28) so I can get this project done. Oh and PLZ dont rag on me about how i waited to do it the last minute just help (because thats wut i need) I already learned my lesson. YOUR HELP WILL BE HIGHLY APPRICIATED!!!!!
