You will need to contact your state's Department of Education. You can find the address/phone number online by doing a search like: (put your state's name here) Department of Education Your state's website may have a form that you can fill out or a phone number of someone to contact. They'll mail you an official transcript. You don't have to know the exact date, just an approximate year. The Oklahoma Department of Education actually lost mine. Bummer. I may have to retake the test in order to go to college. But, I took my test nearly 30 years ago so I guess I'm not really surprised they lost it. Hopefully they'll still have yours.

Do you legally not have an ss number? or can not find it? because if you can not find it. you need to get a new copy of it, as basically you cant do squat with out it. Now if you just dont have one, you should call the place where you could get the GED and ask if a a pin number would work. Now to get a pin number you need to file taxes and they will send you one. Good luck, its good that you want to get an edjucation. I do think you have to speak to the board of ed, try calling them for your state. dont give up! dont know what your situation is, but i do think edjucations are extremly important.
How hard is it to get a GED?
I would suggest going to see a teacher who has experience working with people who do GED prep. There are many community centers around the US who do this.I feel it is a very personal question, such as "How hard is it to lose ten pounds?" The real answer would depend on the person, his situation, environment, personal habits, etc. I would also recommend speaking to an academic counselor as to how this fits into your long-term plans. Yes, you can get a GED. But, what about after?For everybody, whether they want to go to trade school, get an AA in something like accounting, or go into four year school for a white collar job, I feel community college is a great hub that can launch into different areas.

If the online school did not require transcripts, the school is not accredited. All accredited schools require proof of your GED or high school transcripts. If the school is not accredited, he cannot use those credits to transfer to any other school. They will not accept it. And yes, lying about having a diploma or GED is illegal (fraud), especially when you bring the government into it by applying for financial aid.

Talk to the recruiters. Answering these kind of questions is what their job is supposed to be.Their first answer will probably be “no” though. If you want it bad enough, keep pressing. There are programs for getting your GED in the military as a precursor to boot camp, but they're very limited. I personally have a hard time guessing the conditions that would find someone with the drive and ambition necessary to get into one without having already used that motivation to get their GED some other way. But that may just be privilege talking.There were a number of guys in my Navy boot camp company in 1997 that were in through some kind of ‘English as a second language' program. But with the low numbers the services are looking for currently, you are going to have to really impress the recruiters so that they go the extra mile to research what's out there.BTW, this is not actually a contradiction to those answers flat saying you can't. Its true you cannot be in the modern professional US military without at least a GED. Any special program would be technically helping you get it before you enlist.
